My hair is thick and stiff af. How do I get it to lie flat like this?

Your barber has to thin it out a bit using shears. Then use proper product, you just don't want it to look shiny/greasy.

What I've been doing is after i get out of the shower i let my hair dry for a little, when still damp apply coconut oil and slick it back, then wear a cap for 15 to 20 minuties.

Get a shampoo without silicone, with a mild detergent and push through it. Dont use heat and if possible no product.

Your hair only gets greasy fast because you take away every natural oil and your skin just reacts with more oil...could take weeks or months for your hair to get used to it depending on how bad it is now.

Shampoo? Nah, I am German so I probably cant help you there. Just look for a forum or fb group abput long hair. 99% of the members will be female but hair is hair, there really isnt any difference.

Probably shampoo and conditioner. Also, don't wash it daily. Dries it and your skin out.

I gotta similar method but no oil, i put a hat on and then go to bed, but i got mine long enough to just ponytail it, then wait up get a comb and wet it a little and style it

I do similar with a beanie and wax (got a lot of cow licks that stick up). Works well.
