It's 100% cotton. Don't know about the button ordeal. This is the first time I buy "fancy" outerwear so I'm not completely sure as to which guidelines to follow when buying a trenchcoat. Fall is coming and I need something fashionable to wear outside.

By the way, the guy in the pic is 6 ft 3 and is wearing size M, I'm 5'10. I have a similarly skinny build, should I go for size S?

The small lapels are fine, they put more emphasis on the length of the coat, making you look skinnier and subsequently taller. I think it's a good beginner's choice.
