I just need a pair of black oxfords. Mid-range: Allen Edmonds tier
But the thing is, I'm in Japan.
It costs fucking $650 after shipping and import duties to get a pair of Park Avenues here.
Mr. Porter has free shipping and doesn't screw me with customs, but I don't see anything good in that price range. Afaik all the Loakes, Churches, etc for around $400 USD are made in India.
If you know a good black shoe made in the US, Europe, or Japan for around $400-500, please tell me.

I hear good shoes in nipland are pretty expensive in general. The imports suffer from big duties + shipping, and while you have a number of great domestic cordwainers, they're the artisanal type that will run you lots of money.
