I ended up getting a different Rick blazer, same cut but 100% wool. I wear that with with wool tailored pods and sock Ramones. Works really well. I wouldn't wear drawstring pods with a blazer without hiding the strings at least.

If you want the Ramone boots, you'll need a wardrobe to accommodate that look. Or else you'll end up like pic related.
If you want mainline Ramones you need to work around the fact their really chunky. This might look a bit out off place in regular fits.
My advice, go for the canvas DRKSHDW ones. their not as chunky, expensive or hard to style

Thanks for giving me a starting point. At least on Grailed, the ramones boots are the cheapest I can find in my size, the canvas ramones are around 500 while the boots are around 300. I think I might just play it safe and get something a bit more basic, I saw some CPs for around $200 that looked nice or acnes. Well I'm a true S in non-rick tops, and I got my prisoners in XS. I guess you could call it "sizing down" then. But if you check the size chart on rickowens.eu, it says XS = 29. I'm a 28, and people say XS (at least in prisoners or pods) fits 28-30. So it's actually true to the size chart.

The last few seasons have fit more slim than earlier seasons. My previous prisoners from Vicious in an XS fit perfect, the Sphinx ones I have are too slim for my liking, mostly around the calves. They are also a touch shorter.

46 sell out full price pretty much anywhere. You will not find them for 300 new unless you are very lucky. Especially the cropped Astaires.
Anything sub 400 is a good price for them. I had seen them occasionally reach the 290-350 range but rarely.
I asked a sales lead at the NY store about this and she said it always sells out quickly and they were lucky to even have them when I was there, and even then they only had the one pair of easy Astaires, not even cropped.
I was hoping the next few collections would focus on the tailored aesthetic again, unfortunately that's not the case. For the time being we'll have to hope more retailers realize how popular these are in this size instead of trying to buy the whacky runway stuff. Totokaelo is good about buying the tailored pieces but they always buy huge sizes - I'll be lucky if they even buy a 46.

Honestly every Rick piece on ssense right now is styled poorly. One of the problems I see is not choosing the right size for the model. Often they will pull all of the model's size and take it to the shoot, so it's a logistical nightmare either way if something fits poorly. Then they got a million other things to shoot. Not a lot of room to play around. Just pin it, move on.

The past couple years they've totally boned the Julius sizing. It's clear that whoever pulled the sizing for those pieces had no idea what they were doing so the shots ended up with size 4 bottoms which are like a 34 waist. Looked like total garbage, all of those pants went to full reduction. This last collection they actually chose the correct sizing.

Right I'm starting my leather jacket guide thing because I have a bit of spare time, but its going to be a slow process, cause work and such, and I'm gonna have to do a bit of research. Maybe only 1 a week or something like that.

Any of you guys have a preference for what Jacket to go with first or want me to go by popularity?

Nah, don't dye something like a jacket. Especially not with how porous blistered lamb is, I think it would take dye in a really patchy way. Also, most home dyes are garbage and make leather super stiff and crackly.

I'm looking to buy a new Rick leather, but I'm not all that sure about sizing. If a size L intarsia from 2009/2010 fits me but is a tad tight, do I want to be looking at 52s or 54s?

Yeah, 50 is a large in newer ones but they fit a size smaller at least. I'm a S/XS in Rick shirts but a 48 in jackets. 52 corresponds to XL, which is what you would want. I'm not even sure about how often 54/XXL is made but I've never seen one.

Probably wouldn't put it through the same gauntlet I would take a heavy calf jacket through though. It's stronger than cotton/wool and relatively low on the leather strength scale - but still on the scale.

Yeah, there are different versions. Both the mainline and DRKSHDW have bombers. And they come in lots of different materials. There are different styles of the ma-1 too like the embroidered ones and the reflective ones. I can't say I know which ones are the "grails" but i'm sure someone can share

There's multiple leather variations, but AFAIK the non-leather ones are (nearly) alway cotton - there's some nylon ones out there but cotton is pretty common/best IMO. Most of what he does to differentiate is in the details like embroidery/straps etc.
