Any ideas on how to reduce muscle mass?
I've always had massive ankles and calves to match and picked up cycling when I was a teen which didn't help much.
Trying to get my calves to shrink at the risk of developing cankles so that I can wear skinny jeans without getting compartment syndrome.

Eating very low calories will waste muscle away. Obviously don't work out and eat a surplus.

I eat a small breakfast. Usually just tea maybe some fruit. Then a normal sized and healthy lunch and no dinner. Maybe one snack. I try to get at least a half hour of exercise in too
Not really, the first two weeks can be a little weird, but by week three should start to see steady results. -500kcal deficit daily == 1lb / week, -1000kcal deficit == 2lb/week.
It's harmless and non intrusive, don't see the problem with it.
Interesting. I've cut out dinner also because it is kind of a waste, since easiest time to be hungry is when I'm sleeping. Breakfast I need something and find it hard to make it till lunch, when I too eat the most. I waste a lot of calories at breakfast.
Obesity is a much bigger problem and most of us aren't really that far underweight when stats are posted. You can be super thin and still eat enough for it to not be a dangerous thing. Very few go crazy low like people might scare you to think.

lol no, the only reason it works is the amount of exercise she is doing. If a regular, more sedentary person were to just eat bananas all day, he or she would get fat.
The only proven weight loss method without vigorous exercise is counting calories... it's simple math, really. Intake vs. outtake.

I personally disagree. In my opinion, body>face. Judging from people that I see everyday, the same ugly or weird aesthetic features become more interesting and less repulsive on a thin body.

never lurked this before, but was wondering (amongst the guys here) what your weights are, how tall you are, when you started, and whether you run
the reason I ask is that I'm generally skinny (18, 6', 145lb) but have what I perceive as obscenely large thighs which I'd like to shrink - I realize likely last as part of overall weight-loss. Despite this, I'm afraid of fucking up further potential growth (anecdotally, many guys in my family grew multiple inches in/around college-age), and was wondering if anyone grew while thin.
I also was wondering whether I could concurrently run in aid/orthogonally to this or whether that'd just reform the same size deposits of muscle
You're not gonna thicken your thighs by running, if that's what you're afraid of.
But if you're naturally that height and weight then, unless you majorly fuck up, you're going to keep a similar h/w ratio until you get old and lazy and fat.

start dropping some hints that she looks heavy, but be really smooth about it. Do all the things that get recommended for if your gf is getting actually fat and you want to support her weight loss...
So for example, one thing they generally recommend if your partner is overweight and you want to inspire them to lose weight without hurting their feelings is to say something like "I want to lose weight, would you do it with me and support me?" and if she says "anon but I'm already thin" then just be like "we'll just do 5lbs" and so forth, you get the idea.
Drop little hints gradually like maybe a pair of jeans make her look a little thick if the she asks "honestly" ... don't say that they look thick, just say the other ones look better (she'll get the jist).
it has nothing to do with reasoning. i used to lift a couple of years ago before i fell off the bicycle and broke my collarbone and i've seen very strong big guys who already had joints problems in their late 30s.

definitely, I have an extremely tiny bone structure (my wrists and hands are actually smaller than most girls i've been with) so its hard to put on weight. but being a skeleton is terrible
Has anyone here managed to shift really stubborn leg fat? I have big legs (some of it is muscle too), but the rest of my body is like these pics, other than me being short kek. Even when I was fairly severely underweight, i still had disproportionately fat legs. Should I just try to save up for lipo or something?? Any advice would be great. Im female if that makes any difference (also won't post pics, sorry)

Trying to get down to like 130 though because 115 I feel is a little too extreme.
130 sounds good, can always see how you feel when you get there. You've gained a bunch of weight so just make sure you change your eating habits rather than diet. In order to keep it you have to decide on a calorie-budget per day that you are comfortable with yet still maintains a weight you are happy with. It's a bit of a balance.
Yea like I was 140ish when I was 13-14 because of like baby weight and I lost all of that to to to that previous pic. (I think I was 16 in that pic at my lowest) So I know how to lose weight easily.
It's just like I slowly gained it back because I'm 22 now and didn't notice because I still count as "thin" or "average" at my current weight.

I think your face looks fine desu. I don't think it's so much face fat that's making you look young as much as lack of jaw line and cheekbones and I'm not sure if losing more weight is really gonna give you that.

Yeah, the developed world is so fat that when average you are considered thin so people think you are nuts for trying to drop some weight.
You have to get over your thing about not seeing food wasted. Or just get used to not eating it and eventually he will.
Fat people don't like you to lose weight because it makes them feel bad about staying the same. So, that might be part of the reason he gets so intense about the food. Just learn to ignore it. It really helps to use a calorie counting app so that if you go over you get a big red reminder not to do that.

Might make a marginal difference, but jaw line is much more dependent on bone structure than muscular makeup. You don't really lose anything by trying (though you should brush your teeth well if you're going with gum, lel).

Dropping weight with them seems to be the best, exercise with them, etc. Make it another thing you guys do together type of thing. But, look, if he's a lazy shitbag nothing will work.

My bf has pudge and I honestly used to try to get him to go to the gym with me and he doesn't.
He got a large egg salad hoagie from wawa once because he thought it was healthy and it turned out the sub was like 2,500 calories when I checked the wawa site.
I try to make healthy meals and he slathers cheese or ranch on it.
He kind of just settles at a pudge belly and I just live with it.
Sometimes I rub or pat his belly or grab his small moobs in hopes he gets subconscious.....I don't think it works though.
Meh it only bothers me sometimes, I'm fine with it like 85% of the time.
I more wish he'd eat a vegetable or fruit once in awhile because currently literally the only fruits and vegetables he eats are banana's and pickles.

As someone with back problems, it depends very much on why he is experiencing the back pain. If it is a degenerative disc, he should do physical therapy as a lot of regular exercise can make that sort of thing worse.
I've browsed /fit/ enough to know he definitely has lordosis. I almost want to post a pic because his back shape makes him a poster child for it. His pain is centered on his lower back and shoulder blades from his slouching
It's fixed by ab and shoulder exercises and I tell him this and he's too lazy to fix it.
Question for males. Why don't you want to be muscular? I'm not even saying big just average. You understand that being skinny is ok when you're in high school but when you're in your 25s or 30s it looks like shit. It's no better than being fat.

My mother just eat and cook lots of junk food. I was always skinny all my life and when I turned 25 I looked into the mirror one day and saw big fat fucking belly and sides. Took a lot of time to get back to normal. Not to say I squatted and deadlifted witout belt (thanks fit) and fucked up abs. Took even more time to make them look good.
Yeah I've been doing this more and more. I've been going out more lately as well, just to avoid her, and she always insists I eat something first

What's the lowest amount of calories I can eat and still live/function relatively normal? Is it really 1000 or can I go lower? I've been doing 1000 for about a month + working out and haven't been seeing much in the way of results. I need to lose about 40 lbs by April and I'm starting to get pissed bc it seems like I'm accomplishing nothing. 5'5" gril if that helps.
Depends on the person and their size. It's a bit of an experiment. For me below 1000 would be hard while working or studying.

I am 1,54m, weight about 39kg-41kg.
My healthy recomendations to you are to eat small meals during the day (cutting refined sugars, saturated fats, etc.) and to exercise. I usually follow pilates and / or cardio videos on youtube and focus on two parts of the body per day. You can also take other kinds of activities, such as swimming, since it tonifies all your muscles, or running, as it burns calories. I enjoy walking and hiking.
However, you can't modify your body shape. If your thighs are naturally large, the best you can do is to not let them acumulate too much fat.
Start counting calories. Eat less calorie-dense but more filling meals (stir-fried veggies are my lifeblood). Get the Lose It! app and join the /fa/ friends group for motivation. You can do it, anon!

Muscular is pretty basic and to me seems unnecessary. The more muscle you gain, the more time you have to devote to eating more food, and spending more time in the gym. With that time I could be doing something more productive. Muscle mass doesnt equate to good health only a specific aesthetic. For me Great Nutrition + a little body weight exercises / cardio = Optimal lifestyle for my needs

Will losing weight help bring one from a pear shape to a slimmer one? I have a small chest and am now down to 113 pounds at 5'4, but my hips and thighs still look massive and I can't pull off long cardigans, dresses or even button-up shirts/suits
I don't want to go into skeleton mode, but I'm willing if that's what it takes to get smaller hips. And advice? Foods to cut out or good exercises?

Starting a 21-40 day water fast tomorrow. Last time i water fasted it was for 10 days and lost 17 pounds and cleared up all of my acne. im a male 6 ft 175 goal is to be maybe around 150 and lean. Also ive been vegan for 8 months now.
All right, I just started eating less and working out more, I'll cut out the coconut water and such as well.
I'm kind of poor though, most of my income goes towards tuition and textbooks every year even with financial aid, so I'm having a little trouble with finding cheap, natural foods that are still healthy because the only whole foods place here, sprouts, can add up really quickly even without meat in my diet ._. Should I be okay as far as health goes as long as I cut out sugary foods and eat multivitamins?

i guess you could say i had "cheat" meals in so far as that i confined myself to one relatively large meal a day (though always trying to have it before ~4pm). it helps that im not much of a breakfast person - my appetite/hunger rear their head much later than the rest of my mind does - and the rest boils down to intermittent fasting.
beyond that, i didnt really pay much attention to what i ate specifically beyond making sure that it wasnt snack foods, sweets or soda. if you want to take something away from that, maybe it should be that macros dont matter all that much.
i have what a doctor once called a "female fat distribution". the excess me accumulates in the shape of moobs, a sizeable lifebelt and fat thighs.
this probably hasnt been too helpful and my "success" may come entirely from having been a serious, enormous lardass before.
Not him but I lost 50lbs last year. I did a caloric deficit, nothing special... I did try to eat more protein and fiber because it keeps me fuller. I didn't do cheat days. I used MyFitnessPal and was really strict - and I still am - about tracking calories.

I eat like a pig, I dont care what I eat, I drink soda and 3 heavy meals per day. Also a snacks. I also play basketball maybe I lose my calories by doing that. No fucking idea how I cant gain weight
