Size up or down

Uniqlo generally fits big. Forget the Japan thing, It's modern day/fat sized

Why are all their pants like 34 length?

Also what are the quality of their socks? They go for 3 fucking dollars but I'm worried they'll fall apart if they're that cheap.

No, just order normally. You only need to size down if you purchase from the Uniqlo stores in Japan. Their XS is basically XXS, which doesn't exist in the US and EU, and so on.

Nah man the socks are great. I have many many socks from them.

Size up 1 for T shirts unless you like them really slim. Supima tees are solid as the internet suggests. Socks are overrated, feel quite synthetic. The newish thick low cut socks they have are great though. Pants sizing is standard compared to other brands, check their size guides though they have measurements for every product.

What are their slim chinos like? I need some new basic pants and these look pretty good but I've seen some pics online that look awful (mostly fit issues). I'll probably hem them a little short because I don't like my pants to have a break at the leg opening.

Aww, rip. It's nice that they offer such a thing but I don't live near one of their stores. Oh well, tailors are usually quiet cheap and if I go home I can have me mum do it.
