So can anyone get super skinny legs if they lose enough weight? I've lost about 80 pounds so far (starting weight 245) and, while my legs have slimmed down, Im still carrying a bunch of fat/mass in them, specifically my calves more so than my thighs. I know I'm not skinny at all yet, but is there hope or is leg slimness mostly genetic?
I'm 5'8 and weight 150lbs and still have fat legs, it's just genetics, will hit the gym this summer to see if I can lose some fat.
>it's just genetics
>hit the gym to shrink legs
>/fa/ has gone so ass-backwards in body image that they accidentally become meat wagons
Yeah OP here, I'm 5'10 ~160 and have fairly similar legs to you.
I'm probably going to start running on top of calorie cutting to try and tone my currently shitty body. We're gonna make it, anon. I can feel it.
I obviously don't know shit about fitness. I've just been tracking calories to lose weight. What should I call the process of gaining definition in muscles? What's the correct term?
Slim legs combined with clothing proportions that accentuate the legs will make them look longer. I think after a certain point of leg slimness, it really comes down to the proportions of the outfit (unless you actually have really long legs, of course).
in my experience yes, it would take a lot to get as skinny as in that pic though
i'm 5'11" 135lbs and my legs aren't even that skinny
being tall helps legs look skinnier, how tall are you?
You're still pretty "fat" to have skinny legs, it's not genetics.
I'm 5'8" as well and weight 115 pounds and my legs are skinny as heck, I don't like them but at least it is good know there are some autists out there that think skinny legs look good.
Fat distribution is genetics, but once you get to a low enough bf% it shouldn't matter. You might carry more in your legs while someone else might carry more in their gut, but the difference between the two of you will be minimal at <10%.
Muscle is a little trickier. Since you are a former fatass, you probably still have a lot of leftover muscle from carrying around an extra person all day. Your body generally doesn't want to get rid of muscle since it's a less efficient source of energy than fat. That said, excess muscle also is really inefficient unless you're lifting heavy things all the time. The V8 truck is great for hauling shit but gets terrible gas mileage. Your body will notice that you're not carrying that extra weight around and adjust accordingly. It just takes time.
Alternatively you could just starve yourself and your body will start breaking down muscle for energy once it runs out of fat, but that's generally a really shitty way of doing things because of all the side effects. It worked for Buddha and Jesus though.
Okay where do I get a bomber jacket like that?
I've been looking for a dark green one that looks exactly like that, but I couldn't find one.
Anyone know a brand that sells a bomber jacket just like that?
The Urban Classics one doesn't really look like this
that is pretty common for people who recently lost weight -- calf muscle takes a long time to grow and a long time to go away once you have it. once you're skinny for a while they'll even out, since they don't need muscle to support the excess weight anymore
they aren't fat, this is what a fat legs look like with skinny jeans
HOW TO LOSE LEG MUSCLE REEE I WAS RIDING TO MUCH BIKE ON STIFF GEARS IN MY TEENS
i've been going to the gym, to even out my figure and strengthen my upper body. the thing is that i have rather muscular legs and have leg press in my plan but don't want my legs to get any "fatter".
should i just drop it or what?
i feel u bud, i had to get into underweight/skeleton mode to get really skinny legs in august but then my torso was way too skinny and looked emaciated and my friends told me they thought I was anorexic so I gained enough that I'm right on the border between normal and underweight (108 5'4") and its so weird because you can still see all my ribs and bones in my shoulders and collarbones and no chest at all but my legs are big again like howwwww
in the waywt i was told to lose weight??
im 5'7 at 110 lbs
my pants are acne skin 5's im not guy so thats why they are tight. i usually try not to reveal my gender cause it causes shit posting. i just wanted to know which jacket to go with.
my calves are somewhat muscular from cycling and playing soccer
When I was a fatass I had bodybuilder calves
It's because your jumper fits terribly and looks like a sack of potatoes.
Try wearing a man's jumper since you're already androgynous.
Also since you're black and dress pretty cool and look like a guy, can you be my wife?
kek. yea it's all bunched up and looks frumpy in the first 2 pics but fits more like the third once it's straighten out and i take off my under shirt.
what jacket do you like the most out of the 3?
I like the first one a lot. But not with that top.
The second, along with the top, looks really like you're a longshoreman
Third is pretty good too, and if I was walking behind you that'd be what I'd prefer. But again that fucking top.
Please lose the top, just the colour and the shape, and especially the collar, I'm not into it.
>im not guy
are you trying to say you're a girl or what? because those pics make you look ridiculously masculine
probably the first one if you really want to stick with the rest of the outfit
work your legs out for a straight week or two and then stop going to the gym+decrease your daily calorie intake by 500-1000 calories. your muscles will get bigger and then disappear and your fat will be gone.
unaesthetic as fuck imo, as getting built looks better than looking like a twink, but itll get you where you want to be and looking how you want to look.
one of the worst things you can consistently do to your body. enjoy your fucked up knees. there are plenty of ways to exercise your cardiovascular system that don't involve grinding your joints down to bone
surefire ways to maintain leg mass in a caloric deficit, and to gain in caloric excess
>Muscles look best when they're proportionate
>selectively gaining or reducing muscle will make you look retarded
false. most people will not be proportionate when they begin seriously working out. therefore, if they train all of their muscles with equal intensity, they will remain disproportionate. in order to become proportionate, they will have to train some muscle groups more/harder than others.
>anorexia is good
>normal legs are bad
what the fuck is wrong with you all
6'1 x 165 fit
But I'm almost 30 and still on 4chan.
I was 210lbs when I was 22, grew another inch while I lost 50lbs, then gained a bit of muscle lately. Good cardio, not so good on gainz. I jog, hike, and ride powder, so my legs stay the same size. I'm decide to be a lazy shit 9/10 times, but I enjoy getting out to do intense funtivities 2x a month or so. Having a dog and no yard is good in that I walk half a mile or more every 4 hours.
>specifically my calves more so than my thighs
This is just one of those weirds things you go through during weight loss. There are always spots that take a really long time to see results and I'm sure the calves are one of the final things to go. My advice would be to do A LOT of cardio NO JUMPING, NO SPRINTING just do very long low to medium-intensity sessions.
Also your calorie deficit is gonna get bigger the more weight you lose. It gets harder over time.
i don't have defined hips and i couldn't care less if it's masculine looking. i know it is and i like it that way.
yeah i totally understand the confusion. i usually post my more androgynous fits on here hoping that i can just pass as a guy and avoid shitposting and get actual criticism and suggestions
