If you have a family history of hair loss I would take pictures of your hair line and crown, and compare it every 2 months or so. The earlier you catch your hair loss the better.

I've been on fin for 5 years, no sides, regrew a decent amount, and maintained it.

Protip: take half the pill daily. This shit is stupid expensive (approx $60 for a month) I also like to believe it decreases the chances of sides, but whatever.

Took Fin for a short while. Still got erections, but morning wood was gone. Quit a month after I noticed, mornings wood and other sides subsided after a few weeks. Fin isn't worth it, or at least it wasn't for me. Just doing Rogaine and Alfatradiol now.

I read a meta-analysis of a whole bunch of different studies (before getting on it myself) about minimum dosing and to summarise: taking finasteride decreases DHT levels for 72 hours, and that the difference between 0.25mg and 2mg daily was about ~59% decrease in DHT for 0.25mg and ~69% for 2mg. So you can take 0.25mg every 3 days and get pretty much the full effects with a drastically reduced chance of the side effects...which are already very rare, and usually subside for most men after a few weeks.

Yes if you're in the US you can get 30 Finasteride pills for $9 (it's apart of a lot of retail pharms cheap generics list). If your hair loss is still minor all you really need is Fin and Nizoral shampoo. But if you're really paranoid you can add Rogaine right away.
