What could be causing this acne? Could my moisturizer be causing

A lot of things can cause it.

Hormone imbalances
Diet
Hygiene (though often this isn't as big of a factor as it seems)

Are you in your teens?
Do you eat meat? Dairy?
Do you wash things that come into contact with your face?
What's your daily skincare routine like?

I do eat meat and dairy but other than that my diet is great. Dairy isnt the problem cuz i cut all out for 3 months once

My skincare is shower and use salystic acid then get out and use cereve lotion. But I just stared it today so idk

I eat both meat and dairy
I put a clean towel on my pillow before bed
In the mornings i use clean and clear dual action moisturizer with salicylic acid, then before bed i use adapalene 0.1% gel.
I still break out around my chin and mouth through.

Is your skin particularly greasy? If so try showering less frequently. I always noticed that my skin settled down and my spots dried out after going a day or 2 without showering

I was there with you: constant acne, that wasn't necessarily severe, just always there. I'm 20 and got on accutane a couple of months ago, my skin is pretty much clear at this point. I stopped meat, dairy, tried taking only cold showers, switching bed sheets daily everything. This was the only thing that made a significant difference.

As for the cause, it's mostly unknown. If you've had acne for a long period of time, and it's not sudden, you just need a proper skincare routine. Wash morning/night with cerave, apply your SA once/twice a day and moisturize as needed.

Since you have inflammatory acne, you may want to start using Benzoyl Peroxide. Acne.org makes a 2.5% BP that you can apply in the evenings. This has completely eliminated my inflammatory acne.

The most important things are to drink a lot of water, do not touch your face, and stick to a routine morning and night.

Took me 6 months to get rid of my acne.

When the hygiene is right it's mostly about the diet. Try regulating sugar intake, it has a big influence on my skin.

Try this, if it doesn't work you're fucked for the next couple years. I had awful acne around my jaw for 4 years until college. One day it just cleared up for no reason. I didn't change anything in my habits either.

I've never broken out and I only shower once every four days every since I was born (unless I did something dirty that would make me break the cycle)
