You could pretty much just make your argument by pointing out that those obsessing with beards tend to be twink-y dudes desperately trying to aspire to some Platonic concept of manhood that doesn't exist.

(Also: the U.S. Army traditionally didn't allow beards because they made it difficult to wear gas masks)

It really depends on the girl. I find beards extremely unattractive. They either look sloppy or santa-esque, usually making the man look either like a savage or like a teddy bear - extremely unattractive in my opinion. A friend of mine, however, very much likes bearded and chubby men. Concincidentally she is also chubby and, well, has more hair on her body then I do.
Basically everyone prefers different things and girls don't have any universal tastes, but you'll probably attract people who are more similar to you. So if you go for a beard, expect more natural girls, not necessarily in a good way.

In my experience as a guy women generally find beardless men more attractive, but I can imagine if you have a feminine jaw/chin a beard could look good. English isn't my native language so I forgot what it's called but when you have a tiny bit of hair on the face most women I've talked to say looks good. Stubble? Is that it?

Yeah, that looks good. As long as the stubble is under 0.7-0.8 cm or so, it looks good and doesn't look sloppy like a beard, while still giving the possibility of accentuating/fixing facial features.

Well, my best friend in uni is clearly attracted to me physically, and made it clear more than once. But she also says that beards are fucking sexy and I should get a beard. She's honest, I know her, anyway you can tell when she looks at all the guys with a good beard, even if they're kind of ugly.
