does anyone have recommendations of stores in auckland, new zealand that sell tricky ricky and affiliated brands? stores that sell artisanal stuff like ccp and ma+ would be great as well.
i'm visiting auckland for a week and wanted to know if there's anything of interest in that department. i heard zambesi is kinda shit, currently only interested in checking out fabric.
MEXICAN GUY WITH THE ANKLE RUNNERS.
HOW DO YOU FUCKING KEEP THESE SHOES CLEAN?
PS: DONT WEAR RUNNERS IN WET PAVEMENT, OR YOU WILL FALL ON YOUR ASS AND COCKBLOCK YOURSELF LIKE I DID LAST NIGHT,
suede is not easy to keep clean
watch where you're going
be aware of the gap in the sole (that shit still gets me on curbs)
buy nubuck/suede cleaner
magic eraser for the soles
be graceful don't be a klutz duh
i'm technically at work right now but i'm here instead shitposting
ideally you should be wearing them often enough for them to be on a shoe rack. i doubt you'll get much wear out of sock ramones if you're not wearing your regular ramones that much.
Don't get me wrong they have been used alot but I've recently bought some short tongue black geos which I heavily prefer. I still love the way my Ramones look but I guess I'm not too keen on selling them because they were my first Rick cop. Trust me if I had sock Ramones I'd wear the shit out of them
I like the all white but I have a tendency to beat shoes to shit/get them really dirty in my daily life. Which Is good for Geos/ramones/boots, but probably really bad for runners.
Brand new on www.hardlyeverwornit.com/item/47603/adidas-x-rick-owens-white-runners
afraid that was the only pair going, but just luck to be 1/2 down from my size (which is correct for Rick x Adidas)
Yeah I'm worried about how well I'll be able to take care of them. On that note, tips for keeping white shoes white?
Obvs I want them to get a slight beaten aesthetic, but not ruin them.
I BELIEVE IT WILL BE CALLED "PENIS" AND YES IT'S SORT OF A CREAMY GREEN COLOR. I'VE MOST RECENTLY SEEN IT ON WOMEN'S DRKSHDW STUFF BUT I DON'T DOUBT THAT HE'S USED IT FOR MEN'S LINES IN THE PAST.
These for sure. The unstructured silhouette of the vegan ones (especially with thin nylon) doesn't quite give the effect that regular canvas ramones do. And olive is a pretty simple color to work with.
sorry for nitpicking but are the first ones actually called vegan?
i thought that vegan only referred to the canvas ones. and those in the pic would just be all black ramones (in nylon)
Technically they aren't even called Ramones anymore, they're called "DRKSHDW High tops." I call the ones with the toecap "regular" and the ones without "vegan" and people usually know what I mean, but I guess I haven't checked the official name for the nylon ones. But they do make the nylon ones with toecap, so the distinction might be necessary.
I'm ruffling. Haven't seen any info on what it will be called yet! Would be funny if I called it though.
I double checked, the Rick site refers to the nylon ones as "vegan sneakers" So it must be the toe cap. But yeah, what I was saying - the silhouette of these from the side really turns me off from them, at least in pictures. It just seems so flat and shapeless, like they really are just converse :/
If you can't find monochrome with a toecap - Hervia and LN-CC might still have a good size run of for the embroidered ones at a good price (contrast and tonal, respectively) - then I'm all for the olive. They'll mesh just as well with black/grey/white outfits as long as they don't have to battle with any colors, and I think they'll also do well in earth toned fits - but it depends on your wardrobe.
We should start a petition
Can't find any monochromes with a toecap at all. Guess I came late to the party. Any other site suggestions before I just cop olive? I agree with you, I feel the shoe loses it's essence without the toecap.
I just want geo's so fucking bad desu. Ever since I was a youngin I had a craving for that post apocalyptic type boot. I feel as if to wear such a shoe would be like traversing the world as a character from Mad Max or something. I don't think you boys know how lucky you are to own a shoe like the geobasket. What a time to be alive
Keep that dream in your mind, young anon. I thought I would never own them and then one day I found the perfect pair at the perfect price. And geobasket resell prices are getting lower! If you save up a lil, I'm sure you will achieve your goal.
Some pretty cool pics I've never seen before on Michele Lamy's daughters insta.
Dick hole and Exploder is now my J A M
My problem with it is the lack of slit in the side to correlate to a pocket on pants underneath
So if I ever have anything in the pocket of my pods it's a bit of a pain in the ass
Im so hyped.
There are still some about but at the 30% discount mark, they don't look like they're selling so still plenty of time to cop
God knows how I got it for like 70% discount
The argument could also be made that she wants to live up the name "Michele Lamy's daughter" and so she is doing her hardest to come off as artistic. desu her art by itself is not bad, but when she explained it I got this overwhelming feeling of trying to be something she wasnt and finding meaning in things that arent there.
Giubg off of what NAHK said he is right to a point but the way she phrased everything was so inarticulate that I couldn't help but cringe slightly. I think most artists at the very least could explain their work with a little more eloquence.
i'll contribute what i can even though a comprehensive guide is impossible
pants (probably for other items too)
R = cotton jersey
RIG, F = cotton fleece
TE = 97% cotton, 3% cotton fiber, i think all of them have a slightly contrasting waistband
09 = black
78 = dark dust
/WM - Mohair and Silk
/F /RIG - 'Felpa' Fleeced cotton
/R - Jersey Cotton
/UC - Untreated Cotton ?
/RC - Viscose and Silk
/K - Acetate, Rayon, Cotton, Silk
/TE - Cotton and Rubber
/LB - Blistered Lamb
/LSHP - Shearling Lamb
/LPO - Calf
09 - Black
78 - DRK DUST
Heres the start of the list, whenever im in the thread and people post one that I havent got i'll add it but dont expect it to be 100% comprehensive, more of rough guide.
Some im unsure of will be followed by a "?" so if anyone can alter it that would be awesome.
I'm going to preface my reply by saying these codes vary and they are merely a guideline.
RIG is not fleece (at least I've never seen a fleece version). It's a stiff cotton.
UC is referred to as "unstable cotton"
JS is jersey/silk blend
M is new wool most of the time, sometimes it's 80/20 wool/nylon
WD is 80/20 wool/nylon
I'll make a more comprehensive list later with actual percentages and much more codes.
Here's the leather code guide that's been used on styleforum for a while:
LB: blistered lamb
LB: unwashed calf (not confirmed)
LBO: box/-ed calf
LC: washed lamb (not confirmed)
LF: fading/-ed (gradient) lamb
LG: full grain lamb (not confirmed?)
LG: washed lamb (not confirmed)
LKG: kangaroo (washed / full grain ?)
LM: metallic calf
LO: oiled calf
LP: hammered lamb
LS: silky lamb
LSH: shearling lamb
LR: rugged lamb
LNB: some sort of blistered (combined with fabric)?
LV: vegetable dyed lamb ?
LGAO - 'giove lamb' / oiled calf ?
COM: from archives it looks like a two-tone blistered treatmet (combined with fabric) ?
LMO: medium weight smooth lamb
Reselling repainted shoes is fine really
>that hint of grey
How much did you guys pay for your pods? Trying to find a pair for ~400cad or less ideally, but it seems as if the best I'll get is about 500.
Also w2c mainline ramone lows in Canada for not $1300 or whatever stupid ass price they are on SSENSE.
Fuck I was just crying about these earlier. I would much rather buy a pair of "defective" (presumably yellowed) dunks than a pair coated in paint. It ruins the whole progressive destruction thing and makes them indistinguishable from fakes. And he's asking as much for them as people get for unfucked ones!! I'm heated.
LB looks pretty much the same, except they grouped the ingredients together on my tag. Mine is definitely rayon back/sleeves and cotton front. Only mild difference is wool cuffs and 10% silk in the front.
11 = milk
MR = 100% cotton
What do the F7150 characters mean?
Ok product codes are good to know, but this thread is by far the most boring thing I've ever read. It could very easily be just me but I honestly could care less if something is made with 20% polyester instead of Nylon. Sure it will make it look different but if I am here to discuss fashion, the coding system on garments is honestly the last thing I'm thinking about. I don't want these threads to devolve into people just trying to find and decipher every product code out there. Would much rather discuss his rhetoric on display and design process.
The product code thing is just something that, once finished, can be used by anybody to decipher codes rather than posting questions in the thread
I'm sure there will still be other discussion, this is just a temporary focus
What kind of price should I expect to pay for some b/b leather tech runners in good condition?
Found these in a thrift shop for $150 but they're kinda ugly as fuck, what kind of outfits would these work on?
strange pickup: cotton/polyamide ramones in white. I'm interested to see in person. I think they'll look good all beaten up with the yellowed sole.
Haha I tried "being the change" for a while. All it garnered me was a bunch of insults and alot of wasted effort. Maybe I'll try again in a bit
I think 800 is realistic. You might find somebody who will pay 800-1000. It's hard to say with dunks because of two main factors:
-they aren't being produced anymore
-they are really desirable right now and a lot of people are trying to sell them now so the market is flooded
There's a push pull here but over the last year they seem to go for about 700-800 in that condition.
Deerskin Ramones up for consideration
These Geos are super cool for what you're looking for.
The gum soles are much less loud than the white ones on the usual pairs.
Always pay attention to his laces, very speard out, because he's almost always wearing lifts in his shoes or just straight up wearing lifted shoes with this heels and soles, just like those.
Kek, when will they learn.
I replied to you in the last thread tho...
but anyway, Zambesi is the only place in akl that sells rick, I think a place in dunedin ( ? ) called plume stocks some pieces too
I've heard TÜR is also a really cool place to check out in akl although they don't stock rick
threw out receipt bc no use for it when it's from a thrift shop
They're Cargobaskets, basically high geos. Only difference is a pouch on the outer sides that is sealed by a zipper
Am a newbie to Tricky Ricky/Dick Ovens, but I've really been feeling the Ramones recently. I'm trying to decide between them or a pair of Skagways, because I don't dress in the "Rick" style. Could anyone show me some cool, "normal" Ramone fits? Thanks.
They're pretty okay. Nothing super amazing but mine aren't falling apart or anything. Plus they look so nice.
$380 is pretty common for the ankle socks on sale, but it would be a steal if they're the long socks.
will rick be doing these again in the future? just got a pair of geos from ln-cc, and i have the socks on my future cop list. would cop now if they're limited to this season/i wouldn't feel guilty for copping so many shit this season.
Oh yeah, the shoe on the right is obviously a cargobasket....the one on the left with the zipper visible doesn't look so tall in the picture for some reason. I thought maybe they were D-ring geos (pic related) with the outside zip.
Not those, the white ones in the back.
Just copped a pair of these, my first real purchase since I started following fashion. They look so good.
Hey ROG, do any of you know how to pull Runners when they are the only RO thing in your wardrobe?
Because I love my Runners but I won't be buying any more Rick till the Cargos are out in March, and then I will only have 2 pieces.
TLDR: Its gonna be a while for me to be able to have a nice Rick wardrobe, need help/inpos how to fit Runners into average fits.
If you want I can post a pic of what I've come up with so far.
/fa/ what size should I go with?
I'm nearly 6' 5" and skinny
I ordered something friday night and the estimated delivery date is wednesday, so 5 days including a holiday weekend and customs. Sounds a little suspect, but I got a package from Hong Kong (to cali) in about as much time. Also $25 express shipping was the only option to the US...dunno if that makes a difference.
Try to find shoulder-to-shoulder measurements for each size and avoid anything too small for you. I hate when the shoulder seams aren't wide enough...it screams "ill-fitting" to me.
Need help deciding /fa/.
Do I go for the Exploder jacket: https://www.grailed.com/listings/325228
Or the sock runners:
I really need new shoes, but I also really want the jacket. Help /fa/
If you're a 44 and into the superstars there's a pair here for ~$250:
I ordered a pair or raf velcros on 01/01 and received it 07/01, I wanted to cop the suede geobaskets but my size wasn't available ;_;
>first real purchase
u starting w/ geos? desu id build up tees, then outerwear THEN shoes n not even geos at that b/c of the stigma they have
ik rick is "anti fashion" but there is BAD ways to wear geos
Most people, even (especially?) people that like rick find them aesthetically unpleasant. makes for a very strange and severe silhouette, and I can't really think of a fit that wouldn't be made worse by hoof dunks. I don't dress you tho, so go for it.
For fabric codes:
/CA is the boucle wool with the pilling, from this fit. Made in a few other colors as well.
its not diffusion. read the tags, it comes from the same hands that make the mailine stuff. its the more streetwear line. also dominated by jersey cotton and cotton twill fabrics, where the mainline will have the luxury fabrics like wool and leather.
Can I get a legit check on this? Also if I usually wear a size S in shirts should I size up from an XS ?
Thoughts on this geo? Been trying to grab a pair of any cheap geo in a 41 but this was the only one I could find, I find the mustard colour kinda strong though
Please convince me not to buy this.
I don't know why but it looks so fucking sick, but I just fucking know if I don't try it out first as soon as I put it on I'm going to look like a complete fuckin goober.
Also, what are some Rick/ROG approved fragrances? Looking for something at least somewhat unique/niche I can wear daily other than the usual aventus creed meme answer.
There's one photo in particular that can think of. It doesn't use Geos, just the same color of tech runners, but it's a fit that would work with them. I'll see if I can track that down/others
Fucked up with sizing so I'm selling if anyone's interested. Also got a DRKSHDW hoodie for sale.
These are the dunks in question. I'm only seriously considering these because they're going for $410 USD as opposed to the $450 brand new Geos. $410 to me sounds like a steal but I'm wondering if these are beyond the point of professional cleaning.
Asparagus you twat
You could probably do a full blown resole on the dunks. All you need is a brand new pair of geos in the exact same size. Buy both, sacrifice the geos for the dunks, and eat a warm bowl of tears and poor decisions.
Kinda worried that I actually considered that, I have a pair of geos in the same size and was wondering for the past like 15 minutes what the Dunks would look like with sharktooth soles haha
i mean technically it could be done if i hated myself
Dug through my Rick pieces and tried to piece this together. Really not feeling the fit at all tho desu
they never charged me customs from oki-ni
it used to be one of my favorite sites to shop from b/c they had low prices + i got 20% vat discount plus sometimes a code. I guess they caught on.
Anyone know about sizing on the cropped wool drop crotch pants? I've had berlin sweats before, I assume it's the same but longer and a little less stretchy? Mine were a size small and maybe a little wide at points, but overall not a terrible fit. Might be better off with an xs. ~Pic related~
Also, does anyone know the official model name or number for the cropped pants with the extra long drop? I saw them on the main site once and haven't seen them since.
Long sweats actually look better like that than tucked in to geos, at least from my experience - prisoners are more suited to tucking. But I didn't like the look, so I sold them on.
