What's the size of all of your Rick collections? I personally have 12 things, but overall have owned 20 pieces.
Pic related: my shoes
White upper and black sole is the worst one, selling less frequently and for less. The most sought after is the black upper and white sole.
For me it goes B/W, White, Triple Black, W/B.
Cant remember in numbers, up to 20ish I guess
I usually mix Rick with other stuff so my 'Designer' wardrobe is bigger
Looking at swapping my Spiral Creepers, maybe for Basket Creepers
Though that would mean I have 3 Basket sole shoes. Geos, ramones and creepers.
Should I get regular side zip creepers instead?
re from last dead thread
BW > BB > WW > WB imo
I only started buying Rick late last year (muh sales) but I'm happy with what I have so far
Looking for some black prisoners and a dark dust tee next I think
Level tee (Passport)
Overlong tee (Pearl)
Rib tank (Milk)
but seriously who cares
I have some Lost & Found boxer briefs because they were on sale and I was curious what artisanal underwear would involve
They're fine, but I still mostly wear Puma.
I guess if you're going for the full Rick synergy you can buy his socks, but unless you're wearing cropped pants or shorts no one's gonna see your socks. I wear mostly Dahlgren alpaca wool socks.
Does anyone have any experience with Farfetch? I ordered some Runner boots on the 30th and i still dont have them.
I'm in Mexico but they said 3-7 days.
Should I contact them already? Im really woriied.
Recently picked up these pants ( BBS ) and im looking for nice shoes that would work with them. I really like the look of the ones in this pictures. Do you guys have any rick recommendations? Thanks!
Detroit is the skinniest cut
Berlin is not as skinny, idk where it falls on the spectrum though
There are more cuts too
Memphis is the style with the flaps, it comes in different cuts
what're the differences between blistered leather and suede? just got some blistered leather geobaskets in from the ln-cc sale, and i love em but i wanted to know the technical differences. is it just suede thats been stripped of its nap?
I don't know the technical differences but blistered leather is flat. It's just texture on the leather. On the other hand suede actually has hairs that stands up off the leather. So it's not flat.
Some people do. Most people I know size down 1 though.,
Suede is the top side of the leather that has been sanded to an even nep, like you're used to seeing on traditional suede things. Reverse leather is full grain leather turned upside down, so that the rough (uneven, kinda veiny) side of the skin faces outward. Blistered is an actual treatment, I'm not sure whether it's chemical or physical, that makes the leather seem almost as if it's been burned - lots of raised blisters, uneven distressing, a little fuzzy in patches. Blistered is my favorite because very few designers actually do it, and Rick is the only one who does it consistently.
The Last Conspiracy does pretty identical copies of both the side- and back- zip boots. Side is called "Sergio" and back is called "Zak." I'm not sure about they're normal availability but I've seen them around. Also unsure on quality but they definitely look like good leather from the photos.
uniqlo socks are fine - upgrade to rick when you wanna stunt on us
underwear - this is the only underwear you should ever need
Yeah, I've seen the wiki article. By "Underside" they mean that the top is split away (top grain leather) and the lower part is finished to make suede. I guess at that point it wouldn't matter which side you finish but the side with the clean cut (top) works best.
Zak might be an older model. The sergio has been at that price for as long as I can remember, so I don't think they run on a standard seasonal sale cycle. They definitely discount some models though - keep an eye out!
5 pieces, I've had another 4 or so that I've sold on. Still in college so I only really buy when I get lucky flipping or in the summer when I work a lot.
Canvas ramones, classic Geos, blistered intarsia, pods, silk/viscose tee. Definitely need to build up more tees and probably a pair of pants at some point - but I'm definitely happy with how I dress now.
Yep. reversible box.
Not sure if this happened to you too, Nahk, but my Julian package came in a farfetch box (they're a farfetch retailer i believe).
Also, shout out to Julian packaging... wrapped in a ribbon with a card and all the jazz... really nice!
Oh really, that's strange. Mine came in all Julian packaging. The box was enormous. Must have cost a ton of money to ship (probably one of the reasons it triggered customs, which I've never had to do before). The little ribbons and note cards were a nice touch, though I hate having packages that have the site name all over them. It freaks me out. Fortunately my apartment building has a concierge and is pretty secure.
just picked up my cyclops jacket from them at the post office today and it was wrapped in 2 sheets of white tissue paper.
you would think for a 1500 dollar jacket that they could have, i don't know put it in something a little nicer.
I have a pair of pic related and I can't decide if it's the colour of the sole or the suede that makes them just seem a bit awkward with my clothes so I was wondering if anyone had experience dying suede geobaskets? What colours you'd recommend and how you went about dyeing them? thanks
A boutique near where i live does fancy packaging and sprays the tissues with a fragrance which is a really nice
Opening their packages is exciting in itself
With my first SSENSE one i was just like "oh...", especially considering that it was £15 postage
Yeah ssense for the most part doesn't give a fuck. The last pair of shoe I bought from there were Yang Li boots. The box they came in was utterly destroyed, the paper all torn, the shoes showing a lil signs of wear (possibly photo styling). The previous pair of shoes I had bought from them were common projects that had a staple shooting through in sole, cut my foot when I put them on because I didn't notice. I emailed them about it, took several days for them to respond and treated me with incredulity. Not a fan of their customer service.
I just copped a sweat shirt form of this desu.
following up on this
bought a pair of raf x ruby jeans from ssense
they sent me a ripped pair
their customer service was pretty quick in responding, got offered a refund or 10% off my purchase, although i have a feeling most of their customer service reps have their hands tied when it comes to shit like this
Ann D back lace creepers. Currently eyeing a pair since they are part of the SS16 collection, not sure when they were last produced. Most retailers who carry Ann appear to be buying them though (fortunately).
That's cool. They didn't offer anything for me, despite ruining my socks and cutting my foot... But I figure that's more of a manufacturer defect as it is.
not much into rick except for his godly outerwear
gonna test the rick waters and buy a rick leather jacket second hand
what is the sizing like. im a medium in tshirts and around a 38-40 in suiting. 5'10 140lbs if that helps thanks
Don't use standard black leather dye, shit is gross and makes your leather crusty. You can dissolve steel wool in vinegar to make a "healthy" leather dye - one that will leave them soft. But you'll still have gum soles, and it's likely to be uneven and weird looking. I would strongly advise against dying - try to sell them on and buy a pair in a color you actually want to wear, even if it's a slight loss. Dying them will kill any chance of resell and there's a lot of Geos on the market right now you could switch for.
As for inspo: they kinda work best with fits that aren't heavy on the black. Try more sandy Browns or pale colors.
Generally, the older seasons run TTS and the newer ones run a size large. I'm a 36" chest, small in everything and my medium leather fits me like a glove. It's from 2012, in not sure when the sizing switched. Maybe 2011? Nahk could confirm, pardon my ignance.
A good indicator is that if it's marked with letter sized (XS, S,M,L and so on) it's an older piece, and fits true to size. If it's number sizes (i.e. 46, 48, 50...) it fits a size small. The reasoning for this is that when they switched to numbers, XS became 46 instead of 44 (as it usually would be) for some reason. Can't remember what season it happened exactly, but definately around 10/11.
Does anyone have the photo of the Rick fit that's very classic menswear just with Rick pieces? Like a speckled grey overcoat with matching pants and he's got geobaskets on. I think it was from ssense or some ther website.
Yeah! I've only ever ordered a massively reduced pair of DRKSHDW pants from Helsinki but I got a handwritten note from Raoul about how he hoped they were perfect or something. It's a small touch but it's enough to make me check for my size on their site before ordering from anywhere else - they deserve it!
It really is one of my favourite stores.
He always has some of the best prices, incredible how he manages it considering hes just a botique I think.
Can't wait to see if and what he gets in of Cyclops
Does anyone actually know what williamwilliam does for a fucking living?
I'm guessing at rich parents
Tried on one of my most sort after pieces and it's boxy af.
But still dope
Also tried on dickhole for the lels. Fits me like shit
weird - dickflap fit me really well - how much were they? might get 1...
the embroidered top looks pretty good desu
why do people bother posting this here? whats the point? reeeee why the normies getting me down
Yeah I've ordered a few things from seven. Got a defective pair of pods from there last, exchange took awhile but he managed to get me a replacement even though they were sold out.
Actually really into this
I had the vicious soles in this colorway. It was difficult to style.
Tbh I really dig the dickhole top, if it was the same size as the embroidered I wouldve considered copping, its just slightly to big across the shoulders for my liking - though it is soft and fleecy af on the inside, really comfortable. Struggled to get my head in as its a solid collar, not clasped like the embroidered.
Part of me thinks the embroidered tabard won't drop much lower. Havent seen it cheaper than £500 as of yet.
I'm glad I missed that or I definitely would've copped. Kinda over done it since November on spending month with Christmas and two trips abroad and all.
The sales assistant very nearly tempted me into buying it when she said I looked like the blond model in the rick book kek.
Maybe if I sell my drkdust stuff i'll cop it.
Thanks guys, turned out it was just the Mexican DHL being slow, they knocked at my door yesterday and called me but I was at work, so I'll get them on Monday.
This is also my first RO piece to ever own. I'll post some on feet pics on monday night.
I'm in the process of closet cleaning to equalize my Christmas spending. I didn't expect to buy the sock Ramones but the price was too good, but that are up my budget for that top.
So you say it was boxy. What size are you in Rick tops usually? A small? And you tried on a small? The other turtleneck sleeveless tops from that season I've tried on have been boxy as well, worth sizing down, so that makes sense. I'm just not sure how tight in the neck a small will be on me.
It was only boxy because it was rigid, its a thick material, almost like carpet lol. I'm either an XS or S in tops Rick tops, mostly S though. TTS 46.
Yeah its a S, I went to the Rick store before Browns just to have a chat and apparently according to a girl there they didnt even make it in a XS because it wouldnt fit anyone.
The neck hole is snug but not uncomfortable, quite the opposite infact, its really really comfortable.
Only issue I had with the small was that the body was quite roomy in the waist area, but thats kind of what you get when its a straight down cut.
I have no experience with the site but the damn layout is making me pissed off. And yeah i suppose so. Im just looking for good tees and such to wear with pods + geos / bbs drop crotch pants + geos
Am I the only one that doesn't care about having a transcendent unboxing experience? There's something to be said for nice packaging, but beyond a certain point (ie tissue paper and a box) it's usually just a bunch of crap that gets thrown out immediately. People eat that shit up tho...
I dont care so much about the unboxing experience aslong as its safe and take into account the value of the garment.
What I really appreciate is hand written notes and such. Recently bought something of grailed and someone put a really nice note in saying hope you enjoy blah blah contact me if there is any problems.
Things like that really mean alot
You may have problems putting them on if you go a full size down from tts. I went tts and there's just toe room, heel and anke area fits great. Sizing down half could be done, but full size you may be fucking up your pinky toes real bad and face a busted zipper trying to put them on.
Thoughts on this colorway? I have a more casual wardrobe but I really love geos and I think these would suit me better than the b/w everyone has
They look pretty shit in every fit pic ive seen them in unfortunately. The shoe itself is beautiful.
One of the worst colorways, up there with metallic and neon red.
The ponyhair variation isn't too bad, though.
height isn't super important
you just need to balance out the weight of the heavy Ramones silhouette with something equally chunky up top or use some tapered or unstructured pants to ease the eye down to the dramatic footwear.
>ywn be a rick model
fucking kill me goddamn it
I guess I was focusing more on the less expensive part more than anything. I bought some tech runners and I wanted to buy some pieces to build around them. I'm looking at some detroit jeans and and a black hoodie so far
more opinions on if these are legit?
that calf hair coat on the far right... sometimes i wonder where it is right now. absolute grail.
looks legit. I always wonder why people ask this if they can't make the decision for themselves, though. I hope you don't spend too much on those. They seem to be going for fairly cheap this time around.
buy the dick hole top.
Are the non-felpa FW pods still available anywhere? Been looking the past 2 days and checking grailed, but couldn't find anything.
Also, why the fuck are ramone lows $1110 on ssense? I think I bought my geos for like $800 after taxes and the only discount was the -20% VAT thing, which was offset by the Euro being so much stronger than CAD anyway.
can someone ID this turtle neck for me? I know it's rick but the model / season would be gr8
Anyone got some ricky outwear inspo? Need a big old coat for winter times
looking for grungier stuff over clean, dont feel comfortable in new looking stuff
That's funny to me. Dust is such a inoffensive, regular grey. With the possible exception of mustard, which would take some level of coordination, it's nearly impossible to mess up a combination of rick colors. Raisin hoody with dust shirt, pearl pants, and blood shoes? Sure why not?
any combatboots inspo? does rick still make blistered lamb version?
I think dark dust is probably the hardest to pair up - I don't think its easy to wear with white so typically when I wear it its like the only non-black colour
its a bit like brown/green so it doesn't necessarily fit in with a whole greyscale 'look'
Just copped black Prisoners
My bank account hopes they don't fit
I personally love the white upper, black sole. You don't see fuccbois wearing it as much as the other colorways. Plus the color combination is "inverted" compared to typical shoes so it's a lot more interesting.
Put a big ass crew neck under my OS tank and pushed up the sleeves.
Thoughts on ghetto jumbo tee?
i think it's funny that this is probably the best fit i've ever seen with rick owens geobaskets but it's completely styled away from the rick owens silhouette.
hell, it's even the short tongue model! you can easily replace it with black boots.
detroits are slightly tapered and slim/skinny all the way through the leg
berlins are straight cut and a bit relaxed
torrences are sharply tapered, basically fit like berlins up top and taper down to fit like detroits below the knee
memphis are super skinny with all the pockets and ribbing and whatnot and made from high stretch denim
pic related are some detroits i just got for cheap
man i like rick but the fucking pieces aren't versatile at all. you have to wear rick pieces with rick, or else you just look like a goofball.
This is a got tier fit desu. I like it when rick is worn in a more sportswear-y jogger way. What do you guys think?
Should I just settle for these? I wanted geos but I'm a couple hundred dollars short and I need new shoes now.
Why do you need new shoes now? If it's because your impulse buying that's not a very good rick mentality. If you need legit shoes just buy something cheaper than Rick and keep saving your money anon.
Well i'm on track to buying new shoes as well as building a rick wardrobe. I was thinking of buying shoes first, specifically geobaskets but I don't have the money for those right now. Would it be a bad philosophy if I bought these shoes as my first rick piece and to build my future rick stuff on?
>Well i'm on track to buying new shoes as well as building a rick wardrobe. I was thinking of buying shoes first, specifically geobaskets but I don't have the money for those right now. Would it be a bad philosophy if I bought these shoes as my first rick piece and to build my future rick stuff on?
I mean that decision is wholly up to you; personally though I'd wait it out for when you have the money for geos because in my opinion 1 geo= 3 tech runners
Yo guys I figured this would be the best place to ask this, so sorry that it's sort of unrelated.
Where's the best place to buy Chrome Hearts jewellery? or can anyone recommend any other jewellery brands / designers with a similar aesthetic?
Pic unrelated but I thought I'd try contribute to the thread somehow :))
Has anyone - especially in Canada - ordered off the rickowens.eu site? Might just start buying shit straight off there, but I'm not sure how much taxes & fees will ruin the pricing.
Nope, got em off some random boutique in Denmark? or something's site. Was the same price as on the rickowens.eu site, but they marked down the value to $80 so I paid like nothing in duties and taxes when they got here.
w2c frayed layering shirts?
They're great. One of the more versatile colorways, give combat boot type vibes in the right outfits or sneaker vibes in others. They get the same hate that all geobaskets get (on this website) so if you aren't up for that they probably aren't for you. People won't say anything IRL, most of the people taking time to say shit on here are probably to aspy to say anything in person. You will look good.
Will they make you feel nice, will they go well with your wardrobe, will you have to live on ramen for the next few months?
That's about the price I've seen them at lately. Not astronomically cheap, but a damn good price all the same.
How is about $100 for a rick double layered long sleeve? Cop? I recently managed to up my clothing budget by flipping thrift store items and I'm trying to build myself a more interesting wardrobe.
I feel what u are saying, but u know how other people can be like snakes even for the shoes you are wearing. I might cop them and then decide if return them. Anyways I shouldn't be upset about the opinion of people maybe wearing some shitty sneakers, while I'm wearing some ricks. It's a big amount of money so I will think well.
;) make sure you try a pair on homie, also they're tough to wear w/ skinny jeans - works best with straight and slim-fit jeans that stack, or w/ a pair of drop-crotch shorts/joggers
Hey guys! First time back here in a few months and I have a legitimate inquiry. After being my daily wear for about 18 months, a section of the laces for my DRKSHDW lows finally ripped off. The rest of the shoe is still pretty solid and it sucks that this is what's keeping me from wearing thm. I've emailed Ricks customer care and honestly Tallulah wasn't very helpful and basically just said that next time I order a shoe (from the actual retail website I assume, ha) to send her the receipt and she would send along another pair of laces. What's my best option? Drive 4 hours to the closest Rick store and beg them for a pair? Between my boyfriend and I we have 4 pairs of Ricks so this is going to happen again and I want to be more prepared next time. Thanks!!
I've had that complaint with Rick Customer care before aswell, where they don't give out laces like that. I guess its to counter people getting real laces for fakes.
Best bet would probably be to take them to rick store but I guess thats a bit unfeasible for you. Did you buy them from Rick Store?
If not, try and contact where you bought them from but I guess all theyre going to do is show you the door if they were 18 months ago.
Alternatively, can't you salvage some laces from some of your other shoes? Most come with two sets of laces in different colours
I bought them from Barney's but yes I assume they'll say they can't do anything either since it has been so long. I have considered using the other laces from our shoes but the issue is this is the only pair of lows. We have 2 pairs of Geos and a pair of Cargos so the laces will be much much longer and look ridiculous. I guess I'll call up the store if it's my only other option. We're due for an L.A. trip anyway heh. Thanks!
What do you guys think of these boots for Tricky fits?
I found them in a thrift store for super cheap. I'm trying to flip them, but just thinking if they're wearable. I don't hate them but I could probably sell them for enough to fund some Ricks.
Looks like Rick will be on at pfw on the 21st
Looking for new sunglasses. Bought Rick's shield a few years back but they are a bit too retro-futuristic for 2016. Any Oakleys you guys can recommend?
I think I've already asked this question on a previous /rog/ but never got a real answer. Can I wear my creeper boots in the snow?
