People here perceive sk8-hi's as a meme shoe when in reality no one irl will care. CDG shoes are all kinda bunko so don't worry about them too much. If you do end up getting sk8-hi's I would recommend getting the normal canvas version because the leather on the re-issues is sorta low quality from what I've heard. Canvas will also be a little cheaper if you're working on a budget.

they usually put way too much highlight on your feet, make your ankles look bigger, make your legs look spindlier.
the reason the the low profile white shoe works is because it ads to the "directionality" of an outfit. Like the little white wedge of a foot shape communicates a lot either in the way you carry your weight or in your body language in social situations. For instance you tend to put your feet to the person, activity, or direction you're most interested in, and this exagerates that.
The hi-tops tend to be more amorphous, as tall as they are long, the message gets lost.

Sk8-his at large are perfectly fine, but can look a little childish, like a cartoon. if you don't keep them simple and subdued, preferably dark. In this situation the white stripe, white sole, and any other small highlights are supposed to do the communicating, while making your foot look over all much smaller.

The color in person is a nice, soft, and kind of faded charcoal grey. Im a big fan of the color and the shoes general aesthetic.
