I have had a lot of large dandruff. Use a good anti-dandruff product, lather a large amount into your hair, making sure to scratch your scalp whilst do so. Do this everyday. The most important thing is that you wash out any dandruff buildup in the shower.

i wouldnt use head & shoulders or selsun, they only made my itch worse and made my hair fall out. Nizoral 1% is great, also good for general hair health.

1/2 apple cider vinegar 1/2 water... Dandruff is caused by a fungal overgrowth. I think it's folliculitis. Enzymatic activity in such fungus breaks down in a sub 4 ph environment. Shampoos like head and shoulders are only effective in the short term, and makes your hair look like chit imo. Good luck op dandruff sucks.

Move to a more humid climate. Worked for me.

make sure it's dandruff and not something else.

dandruff will be oily. if the flakes are dry, it could be anything from dry scalp to excema.

if dry scalp, don't use hot water on your head, use a mild shampoo, and drink lots of water. if the dryness and flaking persists, look into other dry scalp treatments.

Can confirm. Little to no dandruff whole life, despite doing no poo for years, went away to college from south Florida to New York, dandruff everywhere, come back home, gone.

I have Psoriasis, very difficult to deal with, but /fa/ pointed me in the direction of T-Gel, it's a shampoo which uses tar, it's been the only thing that worked for me, you should try it out

1. Pyrithione zinc shampoo like head and shoulders.

2. If that doesn't work use Ketoconazole shampoo, like Nizoral for antifungal properties.

3. Also use coal tar shampoo for possible psoriasis or just flaky skin.

Rotate these shampoos on different days, and give your scalp a break one day a week where you don't use shampoo. You only need coal tar once a week. Also, drop the conditioner-that stuff can actually be harsh on your scalp even if it's good for your hair.
