I got some leather bracelets recently
They're pretty cool imo, about an inch and a half wide and black, one for each wrist.
I didnt really want to go mad with accesories and get massive brass bracelets or anything like that and im glad I settled for something toned down
>walk into ro store
>super excited, Rick is my life
>walk in, it's amazing. I'm really enjoying myself
>see my grail. a sheer double layer, in mustard of course
>as I feel the fabric, my fingers become one with the textiles. I'm melting, becoming one with my savior, Rick Saturnino Owens
>all of a sudden I hear a snicker coming from the other side of the room
>dressed in all black, two tall broad shouldered but skinny men are eyeing me down
>red faced, I give a little wave while anxiously looking at a speck-less floor
>I begin to sweat, l ask "m-may c-can-could I try this on?"
>instant disdain rolls over their faces as I interrupt their conversation
>what have I done
Just got back from work so no fit but here's a quick snap
>they stare coldly right past me while I desperately scan their faces for an ounce of kindness
>I see none
>finally, one sighs and points me to the changing room
>as I walk past I feel their glare on my back, then a slight pitter-patter reminds me that my shoes are untied
>I walk to the room a defeated man
I can never believe anything anyone says on effay about being in public everyone on here is so awkward and worried about what people think of them pretty unricky imo famo
>no one mentioning how elitist and assholish the customers in the Rick store are, especially the nyc store
God forbid you run into timber, teddy or any one of the other elitist, passive aggressive style zeitgeist users.
folks, I have a gimp hoodie in dust. I cut off the fucking bandage strip inside, and torn away the outside strap as well as its 'receiving' part since I'm not some kind of bondage loving cuckboy displaying his kinks in public.
because I can
what's the resale value on it? is it completely murdered?
was there just yesterday
asian chick is always nice
skinny black dude is always nice
dude with brown/white dunks always nice
everyone is always nice
was playing a lil dress up in there it's always a good time
Considering it's not black and has been damaged, it's resale value is not as high as it could be. You can probably find somebody who will buy it for a few hundred.
There's always few trolls trying to spread rumors that these stores are pretentious when in fact the opposite is true.
Was never a Rick fan, but I gotta say his 2016 MENS is much much better than anything up until now.
It's not hard to be original when you make unfunctional stuff nobody else would ever make.
Jeez, right, lurk a bit mate.
YKK zippers have been used for the past couple of seasons (since ss14?) on MAINLINE (reports of racc coming back to mainline in ss16)
They were switched for unknown reasons, Racc zippers are superior to YKK.
DRKSHDW still uses Raccagni zippers.
maybe not the best place to ask but what do you guys think of these?
Reposting from yesterday, wore these shits through a snowstorm and walked for an hour in a rainstorm. They look better than ever.
Could I pull off Rick looking like this? New to /fa/ but I feel a strong urge to buy his clothes.
Would a haircut be necessary?
Sure is. That + blistered lamb is my warmest kit. Looking for a drapier cardigan though.
my heel is too wide to get into ramones without destroying the leather on the heel counter, has anyone ripped the seams off the tongue on a pair of high tops? I know someone did it with a pair of the lows
Some of the boutiques that carry rick are p pretentious. Was at Serpentine in Toronto a few months ago and the two dudes in at the time pissed me off real good. Store seems to kinda have a reputation for shit employees too, never had any issues with the other boutiques in Toronto either.
I don't even get why they think they're hot shit - the selection was alright at best, and they sell everything above retail like they're Barney's or something. Toronto tries so hard to be NYC but shits not even remotely close.
Patron of the New NYC
right around the corner from Thom Browne on Franklin st
Chinese family owns and runs it. Mom reminds me a LOT of Lamy. The sons are super dope basically slp models. They have a cute little blind dog walking around. Carry a lot of great brands, as well as some really low-key but well made designers.
Oh yeah that place is not good. Overpriced, never have decent sales, trashy styling and buys.
Many boutiques exist solely at the whim of some socialite trust fund kid to expand his status and closet. Well documented that is, but I was mostly referring to the recurring trolls who drop into /rog/ with some robot beta bullshit stories about Rick stores.
I kind of agree about Toronto. Lot of stylish youth there, but New York is still king in NA.
Lots of lil guys buy women's pods to account for the mens xs still being quite long. Sizing would take a little guesswork. Prices are usually a little better for women's also, but they're more frequently made without pockets - if that's a selling point for you.
it's totally fine. I'm the biggest fucc/poorboi possible and I just went in, didn't sperg out, and had a great time. I asked an assistant about trying some stuff on that they didn't have out (basic tees) and he brought me like three or four different ones to try, no questions asked.
Also rick M&Ms.
This. Found my sizing in a ton of stuff while explicitly stating that I wasn't looking to buy at the moment. They were super nice about it, talked about what they love about his clothes. Brought me other things to try out. A+ experience.
Is SPENCE known for selling fake Rick Owens? I received shoes from them today in the mail. The leather and rubber soles look off. They also smell strange unlike other authentic RO shoes I've owned.
I'm one second away from raping the seller's ass and contacting PayPal. Getting other's opinions about the seller would help me build a claim.
Why would they? They even have a pair of plinth boots with the runway look and the model's name on them, if you don't believe me. This is why they have so many unusual pieces, and why a lot of them are missing season names printed on them, or no tags, et cetera.
I've spent thousands on "discount merchandise" and none of it has been as bad as this.
I'll enjoy watching him try to argue his Italian ass out of this in his broken, hardly-coherent English.
I wear 28 in pretty much everything (XXS in Lost & Found is actually still too big for me) and I have a pair of women's DRKSHDW pods in M that fit pretty well. I can wear them comfortably without the drawstring tied. S would probably be a bit better, though.
I've only had great experiences at the LA store. Super friendly staff, and pretty cool customers. I was there over the weekend and had a really pleasant chat with some people.
what are some other rick jackets similar to this?
For the guy bitching about spence clothing, I'm sure it says on their website that their items are defective or damaged because all their items on eBay are listed as damaged/defective. Basically their stuff is used in actual runway shows or prototype models that aren't even finished/complete. I've also seen some pieces where the leather on boots got fucked up by water or humidity damage, etc...sometimes it's just fine though but they just list everything as possibly defective so you can't return them and claim they weren't messed up.
This isn't mentioned on their About Us page. I also can't find it in their Terms and Conditions. It doesn't help that this stuff isn't written in English and I have to resort to a broken Google translation.
I'll be sure to let PayPal know if I file a dispute. I'm sending the seller an email first in case he's willing to cooperate.
LOL dodging the question twice in a row
paypal and spence have to deal with retards like you every day thinking your shitty sneakers are fake because the shape of the shoe or the leather grain is microscopically different than the pair pictured
they arent fake
theres nothign wrong with them
youll lose the claim
youre a stupid faggot
New season shoes have new soles, smell a bit funny and not really like the other soles ive smelt before. It was really strong on the drkshdw pair I got, smelt like some cleaning product or something
yeah I have to wiggle a lot but I can get in, it just feels like I am going to really thin out the leather on the spot where it bends over the heel counter and I don't really enjoy putting them on for that reason
That's the smell I'm familiar with as well from the several authentic pairs I've owned in the years. The shoes I received from the seller smell like ordinary shoes from Foot Locker.
I can't afford Rick stuff because it's way too expensive for my budget but I feel like you can emulate ricks style with cheaper pieces like this. What do you all think?
ah ok weird, my previous season shoes only had a leather smell. Also slightly tangential the newer soles are worse than last season's, or is that just me. Last time they were a bit more yellow and the new ones seem a touch translucent and almost sticky
bought this jacket a thrift store today
Is this rick enough?
Hang on a second, spence has a 15 day return policy... So you shouldn't have to fuck around with a PayPal dispute. Or did you remove the tag before inspecting the shoe? Because in that case you fucked yourself m8
Any tips on pulling off the drkshdw elongated hoodie look? I'm 5,11 so I'm not sure if my legs will look stubby from behind. What's the rule of thumb as to the length of the hoodie?
Top kek. Spence guys are so cool, in one occasion they help me a lot with shitty fedex (never) delivery, refund and all shit. They offer some of the best prices on ricky past seasons. I am gonna contact them if they need me as evidence against a shitty paypal claim.
I'm curious about the length on the mediums, because I have a small waist but I'm not short at all. What's your height, and about where do the shorts lay when you're wearing them.
Anyone interested? i can proxy. $1000 AUD is roughly $720 USD
I did a rough measurement and they're about 27" from top to bottom at the longest. I'm 5'8" or so and on me, when I tie them just above above my hips, they sit two or three inches below the bottom of my knee.
I took a bad picture for reference but it doesn't do a super good job of showing how long they are, so hopefully everything else gives you a good enough idea.
you are right, the same bags come with jeans, jackets, etc. but a lot of fucking stores never give you this or sometime hangers (for mainline). they just think we dont care, fuckers
Contraband only carries rick @ the vancouver location, and jonathan+olivia has shit prices. There really isn't any good store that carries a wide selection of avant garde type shit in Toronto desu, I think all the new money chinks and shit kinda end up forcing the boutiques to carry a lot of hypebeast/shitty clothing.
[PRICE IN AUD]
Selling as a pack for $1000 FIRM but will listen to offers on individual pairs, more photos can be provided upon request.

from my local group
So, who wants to sell me their Tech Runners in US7.5 in this colorway?
> ordered ramones on Christmas
> delayed 3 days because of Boxing Day
> left town on the 30th, shoes arrived on the 31st
> sitting at home without me until today
Feels so good to have them now but damn I wish they were just one day earlier.
How's the sizing on drawstring pants (drkshdw berlin) ? You guys say to size down (I wear 30 so I should wear Small in tricky ricky) but since I have big thighs(working out is modern culture after all) I wonder how slim they are and if it would be a good idea to take xs.
So I'm looking for some tech runners 2 but they're pretty much impossible to find in my size (9.5). The OP says size down but I have pretty wide feet.
does anyone have fit pics or anything other than basic products shots of the beige/bone geos? I really like them more than black and white
Still waiting for DRKSHDW Ramones to drop to 60% on LNCC. As for people griping about customs, are you in the US? Maybe I'm missing something, but this is from their site (where they write in all-caps):
FOR DELIVERIES TO SWITZERLAND, UNITED STATES, CANADA, NORWAY, JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA CUSTOMS DUTIES AND PROCESSING FEES ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE ITEM AND LN-CC.COM WILL NOT CHARGE ANY ADDITIONAL VAT OR SALES TAX.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CUSTOMS DUTIES, SALES TAX ON IMPORTS, AS WELL AS HANDLING COSTS THAT WERE CHARGED TO THE RECIPIENT BY OUR COURIER, BY ORDER OF THE CUSTOMS OFFICE, CAN BE REFUNDED ONLY AS A VOUCHER.
Sounds like if DHL of UPS wants to try to fuck you at least you get a gift certificate out of it.
I think as long as something you buy isn't over 1000$ you don't have to worry about customs fees. If it's over that price you paid then you still get charged customs fees even though the website says it's all included
timber is just an angry child who gets off by telling people how much better she is then them, aka she is a depressed and hopelessly lost soul. I long for the day she gets a reality check and realizes how insignificant and bland she really is.
Got my first pair of Boris Double layer pp9's today!
What top would you guys recommend? ( Had this tee on cus just got home from work )
Not the most flattering fit on the pants here. Still messing around making them fit better!
Lol, stop acting like you know anything about her. She is very successful in the fashion industry and loved by countless people for her in depth and articulate narratives on the fashion world. She's by far the most successful person to ever visit /fa/ regularly.
My embroidered ramones just arrived, and I'm super stoked. It's subtle enough to be an interesting detail without looking gimmicky or making them harder to wear.
I wanted black ramones but I like the extra detailing. It's like having a pair of jeans with cool pocket bags or a suit lined with some wild fabric. No one else has to notice, I just think it's cool.
On the topic of gimmicky, where do you guys draw the line? How does one differentiate between tacky and eccentric?
I'm new to "different" fashion but I feel like it's an important question.
I just bought a pair of tech runners in 9.5 but I usually take a 10. If they're too snug I'll post about it here in about a week, would probably want to trade for another rick shoe in 43 but I guess I'd sell.
It's difficult to put in to concrete terms - at least for me. I can see things and immediately tell you they are gimmicky, but I don't think I could tell you exactly why. And it gets difficult to make blanket statements about it. I could say that all-over prints are tacky and gross, but then I'll see an all over print that is an exception to that rule. So I guess it's very subjective!
Semantics. There's a difference between formal Rick and his traditional aesthetic, the looks he's known for. Island dunks and astairs are definitely a Rick look, but they're not nearly as iconic as pods and Geos.
So maybe what he likes best is the "Rick Aesthetic"? I know that's a point that people try to make a lot on this board, and it's a very good one, but you're using that argument a little early in this conversation.
Actually here are the exact shorts I'd get but that's just me really
I used to hate these shorts until I saw pic related. But I'm so small they would probably just make me look like an auto mechanic in oversized dickies.
New mainline tank and new shoes from the farfetch Christmas sale
Ayy more sock runner bros
For awhile there I thought nobody was into them but me.
All I'm looking for is a small base to start with (e.g. 5 pieces) that'll be easy to wear and fit with the most non-rick shit. As much as I love sock ramones, I don't currently own much that goes with them - so the question isn't to dress me up in 5 pieces but what are 5 pieces which capture the Rick aesthetic whilst being able to be incorporated into the highest amount of outfits, or something along those lines.
On an unrelated note, what cologne(s) do you guys wear?
I'm obsessed with CDG monocle, but I haven't gotten around to buying any - it seems so expensive to buy a smell, when you can get something more concrete like a Rick tee for the same cost.
What pods do you have? There are 2 on sale at LN-CC, both are 100% cotton and seem to be the heavier weight pods but one says it's felpa while the other makes no mention of it. Also, how's quality on the sock runners? I've seen a pretty decent amount of the first collab runners and the springblades falling apart after relatively few wears.
The two differnet pods types will be "-R" and "-F"
R is Jersey cotton, F is fleece, or felpa. Jersey ones have a much better drape imo, tried on some felpa ones a while back and they were rigid and boxy if that makes sense
Oh man, huge fan of Blackbird Triton, though it doesn't stick super well. Moto Oud is super classic, straightforward and manly as well. Very affordable perfumes.
I know this is kind of tacky, but Diptyque L'ombre dans l'eau is a guilty pleasure of mine.
There are two pods up there in the the cotton, a jersey fabric (the unmentioned weight you're referring to) and the fleece "felpa" fabric. I have the jersey fabric, have been thinking about getting a felpa pair but just don't need it.
The adidas sock runners are good quality. My mainline socks are incredible quality, I would say. The sock runners see more wear though. They are comfy and very light.
I recommend CDG Wonderwood, even though it only lasts for a short while on me. It smells fantastic.
I use Creed Aventus sometimes, smells expensive.
Other more conventional perfumes I use sometimes are Dior Homme Intense and YSL La Nuit De l'Homme. Both are quite intense and very sexy, great for a night out.
I am a fragrance pleb though.
Same, my feet sweat allot too and the sweat seeps through he fabric around the outside of the footbed, leaving visible dark spots and makes my feet even colder. Also they aren't as sturdy or heavy as the original vicious runner model which I can't help but feel is cheaper and makes me more cautious when wearing them, including the soles.
And outerwear, wrap up warm /rog/
I have a 6 Plus. Unfortunately no matter how much I attempt to clean my mirror with the best cleaners and microfiber cloths, it's still a bit murky. Some shots I take with a DSLR though rarely.
Pics are ugly af, that's the best one and i think it's legit but who knows
Pics are kind of fucked up so i'm gonna ask better ones when the guy answers me, trying to understand something from them it's like a nightmare
I've always wondered, how much do say Mr. Porter (Or any other retailer) buy stuff for?
Lets take Geobaskets as an example.
They sell for £730
How much did Mr Porter pay for that pair from Olma and Mirta?
Usually things operate on the rule of thirds - so production cost x3 = wholesale cost
wholesale cost x 3 = retail cost
This is why things rarely drop below 60 or 70% off retail, because that's around the breaking even point.
Rick is tricky without drop crotch as that's a pretty big part of his casual drapiness.
There's a version of sweatpants similar to prisoners but without any drop. they usually sell for pretty cheap - but they just look like regular joggers.
Basket Swingers are longer shorts (about pod length) with a much less dramatic drop.
Astaires are more formal suiting pants - still dropped, but only slightly.
And of course, jeans can work quite well if they're skinny enough to flow with the tight silhouette of the socks.
I think they work best with low rise pants and elongated tops. You can find some cropped trousers that don't have a dramatic drop but I skinny pant style looks goofy with them.
I haven't seen what wholesale price looks like on Geos, but they are probably in the 300s. I've seen purchasing lists on some other Rick pieces and a lot of the jackets were wholesale in the 500s from my memory. Typically thirds is a good rule of thumb like the other guy said, although you'll see smaller brands doing closer to 50% because the pricing is aggressive.
am I being trolled? i said nothing shit tier pls.
ala no daniel patrick, skingraft, aydn, represent, any of those hodge podge uk brands for that matter. no shit tier pls. not even john elliott.
finally something decent. thank you.
i already have a lot of rick, i clearly said i am looking for alternatives to ricks in the tee/tank department -- something more substantial. l2read.
what kind of nigger do you think i am, fuccboi.
Whats a good beginners shoe, as I start to build a rick wardrobe. I'm looking for something ~300 or less.
I guess I'm looking for something versatile enough for normal jeans/skinnys, but that could also go well with my future Rick.
>good beginners shoe
you're going to need to spend a little more than 300 if you're going to cop designer
For just a pair of shoes you're going to need $450-$500 and that's minimum
