Hey /diy/, I need some advice
I'm trying to put together a DIY version of the Dune board game made by Ilya. I want to paint wooden tokens and stick a vinyl sticker to make the pieces. The plan would be to apply to the wooden disks, in this order:
- Acrylic paint primer
- Acrylic paint
- Acrylic gloss spray varnish
- Vinyl sticker
- Acrylic gloss spray varnish (again)
However, experimenting beforehand on a piece of wood, I found that the piece remained sticky/tacky to the touch, even after 2 weeks of drying in a fairly dry weather. I didn't put the piece under dehumidifier or fan, I just let it dry outside (protected from the sun).
I'd like to know if you guys know anyway to deal with this stickiness. Maybe allow a good drying time between primer, paint and varnish, or another product to apply after the last coat of varnish.
Picture related, but not my set.
