Hey, I'm in need of a 2n333 audio amp transistor, but they don't really make them anymore. Does anyone know of a more readily available equivilant?
ECA's replacement tables suggest BC107, BC171, BC182, BC207, BC237, BC382 and BC547. The last one should be easy enough to find.
Basically they're all run of the mill low noise transistors.
Literally anything. The reason nobody makes "vintage" transistors is because they are essentially 100% substitutable with modern devices, and unless the circuit has some retarded design, it will work better or be more reliable with modern devices. 2N3904 should work perfectly fine and cost pennies a piece in bulk.
