That's not something you bang out in a weekend.
That's a lot of beadwork, which unless you buy the beaded parts pre-made it's gonna take you a while, especially if you don't have experience.
Check out forums for north American first nations ceremonial garb.
You might also be able to find some stuff if you search up Order of the Arrow regalia, but a lot of that is lodge specific and held close to the chest.

Be warned that some people get really pissed off about "cultural appropriation" when people other than Indians wear these.

So in my early twenties I've struggled a lot with bad back acne. Even though I still do get the occasional pimple my main concern now are the scars I've been left with. I don't really have the money for special creams so as far as diy cheap home remedy type stuff people usually talk about lemon, vinegar or garlic. I've done some experimentation with lemon and I feel like I'm not getting the results I want so im looking for something stronger.
I was wondering I could possible use diluted bleach or are there any genuine risks or health effects that will arise from it? How much of a bad idea is it? It's not like I'm putting it in my face or anything and after all, swimming does wonders for acne because of the chlorine.

Look into water fasting pizzanon.
I've just skimmed a couple of google searches and there's plenty out there, but I originally heard about it in some youtubers 30 day fast video.
It was just an amazing aside he mentioned, a small scar on his arm completely vanished & he felt great after day 1 yada yada.

It's probably worth doing your research first, seems the fuck ups happen when you break the fast & die of burger overdose.

How much money would you save by buying entire coils of metal?

I'm planning a massive aluminum sailboat project and because aluminum is so pricey and I'll need a steel building to be a workshop for the project anyway, I'm considering buying coils.

I have a few questions, like how thick can metals be sold in coils?

What about plate thickness? I'd really like to cut costs there

I'm familiar with aluminum rolls, work at a few different mills. You do know how big the fuckers are, right? You have what you need to handle them?
>>
>>1186612
coil is for cable
sheet comes in rolls
any sheet thickness you could roll up, plate you can't that the difference.
bulk buying may not necessarily get you better prices above a small amount. potentially delivery costs could be optimised.

if you want a quote ask a company for one.
>>
>>1186612
Unless you're building a cruise liner, the overhead for storing/handling/shipping bulk rolls of aluminum will far exceed the money you're saving from buying bulk

I bought this lamp for not much a couple years back and now this happened suddenly,
(Pic.)

I went to a store to ask for help and the guy there claimed that this now can cause short circuit. Except he could not eplain why exactly.

Is he right or can I still use it safely like this?

Whenever you push the pins, the shit inside the case flexes. Eventually something breaks. This "something" is quite likely a wire and with some luck you now have a loose wire at mains potential inside the case. Short circuit and fire are possible.

I am not familiar with that style of electrical plug so I don't know what is wrong with it. That said if it is damaged it should be replaced. It is a simple matter to add a new plug to a cord. I make extension cords and replacement power cords all the time. It is one of the simplest wiring jobs you can do and easy for a beginner to learn.

thats between 4-5mm, thats p small, i dont know if ive successfully done that small but thats p small for a cameo. it all depends on how well you know your machine, and what stock material you are using, in the cameo software you will need to optimize settings for small text specifically. if the plotter is moving in ways the drag knife cant rotate on, it will fuck it up. i set it with a slight overcut to avoid some of this. a sharp blade is important, and different blades with different cutting angles also help. your stock material is also important, are you even cutting stickers or what because im basing all of this off sticker material. dont use the printer brand shit, last time i bought it, it was shit quality and lifted off the backing a lot while cutting. you also need to optimize your text to do the best cuts possible, if it looks hard to cut it probably is.
i have also had a lot of success electro etching using a cameo, pic related, also to scale

My wife and I are taking the plunge of building a new home. We've got about a $250,000 budget.

I've done a great deal of research into different sheathing options, but we're somewhat limited by climate and location (Southern Maine).

Given our climate and budget, what would be your choice of building materials? Regular stick built, ICF, SIPs, GigaBlock, etc?

>Southern Maine
Not doing whole house ICF. The only possible reason I can imagine that you wouldn't build ICF is that you have a gas well on your property and it gives you lifetime free gas.
>>
>>1203423

Strongly considering ICF or some other variant. Biggest limitation is that there aren't a ton of contractors who are comfortable with it. Even the ones who advertise say they have limited experience.

Also, with building costs going up, the upfront cost of ICF bites into how much house we can get.
>>
>>1203423
>>1203424

In case anyone else is saying "what is ICF" like I was...

What are ICFs?

Insulating Concrete Forms are also known as “ICFs” and often referred to as “Insulated Concrete Forms.” ICFs are created by integrating a high-density plastic structural web embedded in two outer layers of Expanded Polystyrene ,”EPS”, or Extruded Polystyrene, “XPS” foam. This web provides a support structure for each side of the form and for reinforcing materials. The wall is created by sandwiching concrete between each of these layers. Designed to provide stronger, more comfortable, quiet and highly energy-efficient structures; they are easy to construct and their lifespan is hundreds of years longer compared to regular construction methods.

Best way to make a small water boiler? Amount of water needed to be boiled around 2-5 dl.
Ofcourse I could just buy an old tabletop water boiler and take it apart but I want to make it from scratch. Safety is important too so no suicide boilers.

First idea off the top of my head is kinda crazy, but that's where great ideas sometimes originate: could you use the arduino as a base to fab a tiny microwave? There's another thread where anon is making his own keypad, so that work is already in progress.

I want to make a game for my girlfriend using my Raspberry Pi 2 that has all of our experiences into a fun adventure for her to play if she gets lonely. It's been two years and we've sort of gotten distant but I want to show her that I care. I have no experience with a Raspberry Pi 2 and need a lot of help. Anyone have general links or tutorials that could be useful?

Do you have experience with some sort of programming , or you going from scratch ?

Are you planing to make it 3D , 2D or use some dinky drag and drop game maker

Why does it have to be on a raspberry pi ? Why not make an executable ?

Lastly, what is the pi running (os wise) ?
>>
I've had exepricne with only programming VEX robotics and nothing else but I don't believe that would help so I'm starting from scratch. Also I'm planing to make it 2D because it's simple to do rather than the process of creating models for 3D or from the tacky copy and paste of game makers. It has to be on a Raspberry Pi since she isn't around computers often also she rather hold the game she was playing. With the Pi I could make a portable game she could take anywhere on the go (usually she's pretty active).Lastly the Pi's operating system is Raspbian with NOOBS but I can change it.

You can use C++ with SDL. It will handle most of what you want to do (displaying graphics, handling input, sound, text rendering, etc.).

Hey guys, my 1st time posting here, i hope it's in the right part of the 4chan...
So i need some advice..
I decided to start with knifemaking (or bladesmithing later on), I am a designer by education and I make stuff out of wood (mostly jewelry and room decoration stuff...) but since I was a little kid I always wanted to make blades....don't know why...
So here are my questions:
1. What kind of anvil would be best to start with? I am still student and at the moment my €€€ situation is kind of lame....so my main dilemma is, should I buy this iron plate (~60kg) for 40€ or should I go for proper anvil (~20kg = 150€)....I like the plate cause it's heavy and if I need "curves" i guess I could just grind one side and make round edge?

2. What kind of furnance should I make myself? I do already have started to make a coal powered furnance since I like "old school" methods...with hair dryer for starter and proper air blower later... but when I was watching videos on YT most of the blacksmiths use propane powered thingy....I can also make that, but I wonder, what is the "consumption of propane" with this method? I guess it's way more expensive than coal? (here 1 propane tank 10kg = 20€ VAT incl..)....

These two are my main questions for now...But i'll be back with more surely...

I'm personally a fan of the electric furnace:
https://youtu.be/Cte_LSYflAE
Which is apparently cheaper to run than a coal furnace, but getting the parts to build it will run up your expenses quite a bit.
>>
Should work for an anvil, at least its not a huge investment if you decide the hobby isn't for you after a couple of goes. You will need to mount it to a big lump of tree though, which shouldn't be too hard or expensive to do.

Propane is much easier to manage temperatures with, (you can see the metal's temperature colours), cleaner and it tends to be a easier to live with. Just fire it up, get to temp, turn it off when you're done... coal, not so much, plus there's ash, smoke and shit everywhere. Which is ok if you're in the country or an industrial area, but not so friendly in a city

You will also need hammers, tongs, files, vise and a shitload of abrasives. An angle grinder, drill press and bench grinder also helps for prep and finish
>>
>>1202273
I see people online using a bench-mounted belt-sander instead of a bench grinder, typically the vertical ones.

I want to make a helmet in order to use it for just photography. So, it will be a prop.
How can I build a helmet?
I youtubed it and I only saw the results of how to paint a helmet...

I'm wanting to make a backyard fire pit out of a side-loading washing machine someone put out for hard rubbish as a mini-project/for a party in a couple of days.

I've read some concerning things about using some washing machine drums though. Namely: 1, If it's galvanized it can release toxic zinc fumes
2, Some use shot in sealed compartments to help keep things balanced, this can cause an explosion
3, if it's anodised the ceramic coating can flake off, or violently pop off depending on the circumstances.

So basically, how can I know if it's galvanised or anodised? It's shiny like the picture if that helps, I assume an anodised surface would be matte/ceramic in appearance but I'm not sure. I've also heard you can lick the surface and if it's chalky then you've got zinc.
Any other tips regarding this?

In regards to the shot housing, surely punching holes into any compartments would be enough to prevent violent/catastrophic ventilation of my guests.

I've not seen a ceramic or galvanised drum in a washing machine for a very long time, simply put yes there are problems using either of those two types and stick to good old fashioned stainless steel

Is it quite easy to tell the difference between gal and stainless? It's a uniform metallic looking drum, nothing like pic related.
Also, it'd be easy to tell if it was ceramic coated yeah?

Hey /diy/

I had to replace my bathroom sink basket drainer and I currently have the issue where a leak is coming from the strainer itself. It's extremly minor but an annoyance. I think I've tightened the but at the bottom of the sink more that enough.

What could my issue be?

The leak comes from the rubber connection I believe
>>
You just take the unscrew the nut on the entire drain and replace the entire thing.

A new brass drain with a chrome finish is only like $15 and all you need is some plumbers putty and a pair of tongue groove pliers
>>
>>1203102
I've done just that. The drain you see is a brand new quality $15 home depot special.

Did I install it unevenly or something? It seems like one side has more lip than the other perhaps?
