How do you lighten or change the color of a camouflage pattern?
I am thinking of changing the pattern of a (reproduction) Desert Battle Dress Uniform to a lighter color similar to Desert DPM or pic related in second post.
I might be mistaken, but bleaching seems like it would just genocide the camouflage. And I am not so sure how using dyes would mess up the pattern, especially the "chocolate chips" (black-white spots).
How should I go about achieving this?
This is the colorway that I am trying to achieve. It is not "red" like real Six Color Desert and has grey instead of brown-red splotches.
Replacing the brown-red with grey isn't necessary, all I am trying to do is reduce the overall "redness" of the pattern and make it sand-color shaded.

How difficult and expensive would it be to build and old style library?
Ikea shelving and a lot of bullshit $1 books from the used bookstore.
>>1117447
6/10 difficulty
8/10 cost
>>1117447
The wood working isnt hard.
Cabinets and shelves are cake with pegs and pocket screws.
The wood for nice oak or cherry would be expensive.
The books. If you dont care what they are you can buy books by the yard/meter.
Any anons have a diy for making Ormus? Any hacks or cheap methods for quality results? What are the effects like?

You now speak to Ormus. Ormus was once a great mage but now lives like a rat on a sinking vessel

Are there any viable options for making plastic items on a budget (<$5000)? With the following conditions,
sub-mm precision and accuracy
Small parts only (<1x1x1ft)
Acetal-like qualities of plastic
Having stuff produced by an actual company is too expensive, and 3D printing isn't precise enough. The only option that looks viable is resin casting using an industrial resin like PTM&W's PT8902, but I don't want to use something that's particularly dangerous to store and use. Resins that might be considered safe to use at home are far too weak and nothing like the commercial use stuff.

how can i fix noisy ceiling vents? the circular ones are unbearably noisy. the issue goes away entirely if i remove the vent. is there a way make a hole in the ceiling not look like a hole in the ceiling?
>>1123116
the noise of air hitting the vents vertically and being spread horizontally i assume. its a loud whooshing sound.
Maybe wax the fins.
I'm building a refrigeration cabinet. I've got a drain pan with a small heater. Is two float level switching enough safety for the prevention of the heater burning out or should I wire a over heat Sat in the drain pan?
>>1122971
>refrigeration
>small heater
Plz explain.
lol
plz
float switches seem like an odd choice for something that's gonna produce an ounce of water a day. using a defrost-type water-proof thermostat seems more reasonable.
What is the name of the drill bit in pic related? Where can I find one?
>>1122963
the technical term is "toy".
seriously though, cartoon style drills like that dont actually "drill" material, the pitchs is too much and the lateral stresses would break the cutting surface off the cone. "augers" like that are meant to move material that is already broken up enough to flow.
"Earth screw anchor"
that is big daddy's 'heavy drill' and can be found in the game bioshock.
I give up
I somehow damaged the top end of my nokia c2-01 so now charging and headphones only work if you lean on the cable so it pushes towards the screen side.
The headphone jack is non-replaceable unless i solder it off the mainboard, so I did all else I could. I made sure the screws are just right, I pulled all the contact bits inside it so they would make contact easier but no avail. I give up. Was there anything I could have done or was this a lost cause from the get go?
>>1122911
correct answer is soldering
ghetto answer is apply more pressure with tape
normie answer is get a new phone
>>1122913
I tried the tape trick, it didn't work. I'm no good at soldering, it'll just go up in literal flames (as opposed to metaphoric, where it's now)
fuck
i'll have to swallow my pride

Help a retard out. I hate plumbing with a passion, and apparently lack the skills to make a single damn joint that doesn't leak.
This is in a cargo trailer I'm converting to a camper. Pressurized this a little bit ago, and got one joint that blew out, and almost every compression joint leaked before the blowout. I have a pump and a city water connection. Valve to switch a breather hose open and shut when connected to city water, and a valve to shut bypass the pump when on city water. Using mainly 1/2 od polystyrene tubing. Currently in the Pamona CA area if you have any recommendations of people who would fix my clusterfuck for a decent price. And / or tell me what I did wrong. Plumbing diagram on request.

oh my
there's a reducing valve somewhere in there, yes?
>>1122879
By reduction valve, I assume this anon means a pressure reduction valve. The pressure from mains water supply is too high for your hozes OP. Reducing pressure might go a long way in fixing this.
>>1122907
indeed
like when I tried to rig up a hose running propane to a mower engine without anything to reduce the tank pressure....it did not go well
Well, an Olympus Om-1n with jammed shutter and timer that stops halfway came into my hands recently. Inspectioning the bottom I found that there's a misplaced gear which blocks everything but is apparently impossibile to remove and replace. Anyone in here has some experience with the Om-1? I'd like to fix it myself and don't spend money in a CLA if it's easy to fix
Pic unrelated. I'll post pics of the camera tomorrow as I wake up
Bottom plate removed
Self timer at the max point reached. Just a bit before shutter release. Also note that shutter release button and wind lever are blocked
Gear removed. I think the problem is the metallic gear on the left, as it should be (based on online pictures) turned in a different position. Use of winding lever should make that gear spin counter clockwise but it's stuck. I think this position also blocks a lever that releases the shutter
Hi guys. Do you have any idea where can I find manual for this wardrobe(pic)? It's from Jysk and is called Damhus (149x174).

I got pic related as a gift and want to make it into a case that I can hold 2 guns in so I dont have to take 2 cases out shooting. the guns btw are glock 23, and steyr m9, and they both fit.
can you guys post pics of other custom gun boxes for ideas?

Hello everyone!
I am trying to put together a workshop for about 10 of my friends.
The purpose of the workshop is to have everyone build a small <15 dollar synth that will sound good and be fun an interesting to play with.
I've been looking at mostly 4046 based circuits, but haven't picked one out and want to get some other opinions.
some requirements
-Has to be relatively easy for someone with no soldering experience to build. Although there will be 3 pretty experienced individuals kinda helping everyone along.
-has to sound good! this is a major concern of mine, because i have yet to pitch this to everyone and i want to have nice clips of it that i can show everyone to get them on board. no atari punk console or anything 555 or 556 based cause that shit is garbage and everyone will be like hell no.
-<15 dollars. I think this should be doable
-While basic is cool i would like something geared more towards experimental audio. the bit ranger and castile from bastl are really neet with patch points
I think that's about it. Please ask if you have any questions.
>>1122651
>. no atari punk console or anything 555 or 556 based cause that shit is garbage and everyone will be like hell no.
There was an Atari Punk console building workshop in my city that sold out its 40 spots in a few days despite being women only and costing $75. People who have never soldered before are going to get high on just making something that beeps. Atari Punk also has name recognition; everybody with a passing interest in electronic music has heard of it.
>>1122660
that looks like cool event.
i understand what you're saying, but i would really rather not.
>>1122660
>if you identify as female
Makes me wonder if it were mainly trannies...
But yeah, name recognition is a thing. APC workshop is probably easier to market than random synth workshop.
I'm really interested in building/coding something with raspberry pi. But I don't know what.
Do you have any ideas what good projects for beginners are there.
Bonus points if it is useful afterwards.
I have been meaning to build some type of heating control for my garage. It would control airflow by lambda probe, temperature reading of exhaust gas, and control circulation pump by reading temp of water in/out.
Maybe also ambient room temp reading to start circulation if system is approaching freeze point.
Other things I've thought about is car computer, for streaming audio from smartphone to car stereo, front and back camera for reading license plates to check with a database of known civilian cop cars, cruise control that adapts to speed limit from GPS
Well... since everyone on DIY is building their own off-the-grid underground shipping-container bunker complex, how about a life support regulator. get some CO2, CO, temperature, humidity, and water quality sensors and rig it to an aquaponics/ventilation/scrubber system. That way once the bombs fall you wont have to send some poor schmuck out for specialty parts every time the damn water chip or whatever burns out.

need some help...
I want to buy two of these heaters:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-EnergyPlus-1600-Watt-120-240-Volt-In-Wall-Electric-Wall-Heater-in-White-CEC163TW/206750445?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cTHD%7cG%7c0%7cG-BASE-PLA-D26P-AirCirculation%7c&gclid=CIGrnJiTtNECFcZBhgodM3cNwQ&gclsrc=aw.ds
and I want to wire them onto the same 20A breaker using 12/3, according to cadet you can wire them to the same thermostat and to the same breaker:
http://cadetheat.com/blog/multiple-heaters-just-one-thermostat/
(they say 12/2, but I would rather use 12/3, so two hots, 1 neutral, 1 ground)
I just want to take the thermostat out of the equation, since these have their own individual thermostats on them.
one of my issues is that the whole point of a breaker would be that if something failed the breaker would pop, preventing a fire, but now I am going to be wiring them to a larger breaker than what just 1 would normally be on, so if one of the 2 has an issue the breaker might not pop the same that it would if it was 15A for just 1.
the other issue is that they specifically talk about wiring two heaters to one thermostat, removing the thermostat from the equation should still be the same, the 3200W of draw over a 20A 220V breaker shouldn't be any issue........right?
Im trying to save money (less wire, less breaker) and save space in the electrical panel.
any input?
>>1122554
12 ga wire supports a maximum of 3680watts according to the NEC on a 230v line protected by a 20amp fuse.
Wire and breaker-wise youll be fine.
The biggest concern with these in-wall units is people's tendancies to move furniture in front of them or to place them near windows with drapes.
Observe and follow the minimum safe distance instructions clearly listed on the device. Usually 3 feet or .9 meters. Absolutely nothing is to be placed or allowed to be hung within the 3' safety zone.
Failure to adhere to this safe zone is the leading cause of fire with these things. Not electrical shorts or the like.
Also do yourself a favor and at least have a certified electrician sign off on the installation.
>>1122582
good feedback, I appreciate that. they are going in the garage, back to back, on an interior wall that splits the garage. there wont by anything near them that will pose that fire risk.
>>1122554
Heater integrated thermostats are trash, they need to use ridiculous hysteresis because the temperature sensor is so close to the heat source.
