I'd recommend door seals to people who made threads here in the past. This time I did it for myself, here's what you NEETs may expect performance-wise.

>thin light seams seen through door cracks
Needs some kinda fill material between the metal track and jamb, if perm I'd use an adhesive

>didn't get neoprene door gaskets, threshold, an automatic door bottom, and metal door
4-6wk lead time and easily X20 the cost

>didn't measure with old stop up
Only thought to measure as I was already prying the old stop off, it could be put back up for future tests

>Hz plot has all these dips!
yeah not much I can do about the cancellations at those dips

Kinda annoyed annoyed no ones got measurements for sub 50Hz content, especially when they're trying to sell floor decoupling treatments without measurements.

Hi, I'm making a new project to make myself some money.
I'm junior engineer and I'm trying to figure out how much will cost production of my sensors.
INFOS:
>The estimation sells are 20k sensors
>One MCU STM32 and it's own components (res, capa)
>One battery
>One battery charger

That's all for the costy parts.

I plane on buy out from china those PCB with component soldered on it.
Is it a good idea? How could I contact a PCB maker in China?

Any tips or advices. I'm really new to this. How would you do?

Ask your senior engineer.
Or just Google assembly houses (in your own country or in China) and ask how much their full service, including components, PCBs and all, costs.

>Any tips or advices.
4chan isn't really a place for this.
>>
Look up component industries and pickup the phone or send emails.

>Any tips?

Sounds like you require advice from a business perspective and not an engineering perspective.
>>

In my previous company where they design their own PCB, the "main" hardware engineer was making BOM but I don't get where the prices/unit could come from.

Is the PCB manufacturer the only one to provide component @ his price or could I find a best price in my country and make them send to factory?

I'm kinda good for prototyping but I'm very bad at managed a large number of PCB board.

Got fucked by people parking too close in my garage and ended up scraping a concrete pillar. I'm looking to first and foremost prevent rust and further paint degradation, and hopefully to fix it maybe 80% cosmetically. I'm aware that 100% cosmetics are pretty much out of the question.

I'm considering two options.

One is to use touch up paint and brush that in into the deep scratches until its most of the way level and then finish with clear. Sand/buff and polish to finish.

The other is to respray the door and the section of that body panel. I have access to an HVLP gun, but I'm doubtful I would be able to construct a paint booth to fit my car into. In addition I'm a complete amateur and will likely fuck it up in some way. I'm also concerned about blending the paint into the rest of the body panel. Plus I don't know how the two different paints will fade relative to each other and I don't want it to look like a patchwork quilt in a year or two.

/o/ was not very helpful.

proffesiol bodyguy here, you cant really fill up with colored paint since it's really thin, you can kinda fill it up with cleacoat and wait untill its hardened out to the sand it and polish it but your result will never be original unless you spray it completely.

I need to find tracks for a robot I'm making, but I'm having a hard time trying to find ones designed for that purpose.
I'm looking for tracks ~1.5-2mm thick, ~1cm wide (I can cut them if they're wider), and 40cm in perimeter (20 cm long).
I've been trying to find something in aliexpress and e-bay, but something lik exercise bands are probably my best option.
Does anybody knows a source of a variety of rubber bands (e.g: industrial rubber bands used for seals or whatever)?
I don't care about the source, as long as they have a good grip on the ground.

I need ideas for a garden watering system.

Last year I had some 30 foot soil beds and they did really well but I had to either hand water them with a sprayer or use a lawn sprinkler.

Iam looking for a better way to get water to my plants in the soil beds.

Hand watering takes time every day and I got lazy and just put a lawn sprinkler there to rain all over the plants.

Its not good for the plants to always get soaked with water so its better to have the water system down low at the soil.

Here is my problem: I cant use drippers.

Drippers wont work for the type of fertilizer iam feeding. I need more water. Like a spray.

I need some kind of a water line that is 30 feet long and can connect to a garden hose and also sprays water all along a 30 foot soil beds while covering 3 feet wide for the garden row.

How about you mulch heavily, utilize no-till gardening methods and develope a healthy soil biome that retains water?

I haven't watered my garden beds in five years.

I grow with the Mittleider soil bed method.

It uses a water soluble fertilizer so the only way to feed my plants is to have water dissolve the fertilizer into the soil.

I got really great results with this method last year. It was my best gardening year ever.

The Mittleider method recommends that you flood the beds with a hose, but this is not working for me because gophers have dug many holes near the garden and the water just runs down them. Making it impossible to flood the beds.

Another way to grow with Mitleider is to build a hardline PVC sprayer system and I could possibly do that but I am looking around for products that can do the same thing.

Can anyone answer me these questions
1. Is this is a DC or AC motor
2. Is it possible to connect to 12V batteries and make it run
3. What compounds I need to make it fully working (capacitors, controllers, inverters etc?)
4. How do I test it if it actually works

Thinking about a bottle of scented oil with some wicks hanging out somewhere in the ducts
Question is where should I put it?
In the air return (before the filter and heat exchangers) or after?
If I put it in the return (way easier), will the oils create some sort of deposits on the downstream parts or not?
Anyone tried something like this?

Has anyone used this cheap bluetooth audio receiver? Is there any lack of audio quality? I've used battery powered ones before and they sounded like crap. Have a speaker that I want to turn to bluetooth.

Thanks.

This from photo (something around 5$, bluetooth 2) sounds like crap. search for something with bluetooth 4, it schould be better. You can try bluetooth 3 module, but i never had it. You also must have phone/tab/pc with newer bluetooth version.
>>
>>1141666
I bought something similiar and when it works fine it sounds great, but the problem is that it often stutters. Now, I'm not blaming the receiver entierly since it might also be my phone and I haven't done enough testing.

All in all for how cheap it was, it's worth the money. The audio quality itself is alright.

Hello /diy/ from a small farm in rural India!

I have a small house on my land, and would like to have a 'personal' weather station in an appropriate location on the farm. The nearest actual weather station is ~140mi away.

Does anyone have any experience doing anything like this? How do I get started for cheap?

OT: I lurk /g/ and didn't know /diy/ existed until a few minutes ago. This place is way more interesting.

google diy weather station and look for arduino or other mcu you're comfortable working with. you could probably get this done with a cheaper mcu but if youre new to the whole scene arduino is a good pick up as they have plenty of sensors for you to muck with.

Here to second this, arduino + some sensors is the easiest way to go about.

Another question is how you want to actually read the data. Seems like you either get wireless to the area + use a dongle, or run wires, or just walk out there from time to time to collect.

Hey /diy/,

I want to make a CB radio manpack (pic telated). I'll be using two lamp batteries wired in sequence (?) to produce the 12 volts of power needed.

Now, my question is:
If i were to hike to the top of a large hill in a semi-urban area and attach a magnetic antenna to a large powerline tower (one of the triangular
/pyramid like ones usually found in the countryside/hills), what would happen? I read somewhere that if an antenna is touching a large metal structure, the structure turns into an antenna. But would the power lines have any effect?

I think you mean 2 6 volt batteries wired in series? They aren't going to last too long. Try a 12 volt 7ah ups battery.

No attaching an antenna with a magnet to a high voltage power tower will NOT turn it in to an antenna.

Yes the power lines would.

You really need to rethink this whole thing.

Long story short I lost access to my hammers and have to replace them in my workshop. The problem is I was given those by father and, truth be told, don't even know how to properly call them. So first thing is name (or shop in Europe selling those) of hammer similar to this drawing.
The other thing is, since I have lathe I'm thinking of recreating it from some scrap metal. What kind of steel should I look for? Simple carbon steel and then heat-treat it after shaping on lathe?
