What do I use to draw a rather complicated "drill and cut lines" to attach on a case I wish to cut holes of various shapes onto?

Is LibreCAD good for this purpose (exact 2D drawings)?

/diy/ im looking to do some private investigating services. What are some tools and methods of sleuthing that the pros use? Best websites or resources?

The majority of P.I. work is collecting evidence of marital infidelity and testifying in court along with these records. You'll be using video and audio recordings mostly. You'll need to be able to inconspicuously tail cars and people and do boring 12 hour+ stakeouts without leaving your vehicle. You cannot break the law so you need to be aware of those and you usually need a license because you are going to have the cops called on you sometimes. They will arrest you for stalking people if you don't. Your evidence may be inadmissible in court without a license. You want to have a good billing service so you don't get screwed, and a lawyer on retainer in case you get in trouble. You'll often be using state arrest records and phone number/address finding subscription services. Procedures will vary. Gonna have to research. Look up P.I. organizations where you are and try to talk to them. Unless you're already investigation/court-savvy (as in ex-cop, etc.) I strongly suggest working for an established investigator for a while first.

That said, it seems pretty fun. I've helped a friend on a couple tailing/stakeout cases and it was kinda cool. We were trying to verify the identity of a slumlord for some kind of lawsuit.

How do you tighten a wallet's credit card slot(s)? After storing multiple cards in a single slot, it became a bit loose and if I insert only a single card, it tends to fall out. I don't want to carry all these unnecessary cards around all the time, just the 1-2 I regularly use. How do I fix this?

Either thru sewing to tighten it up, or keep dummy cards in there to take up the slack.

Will spraying Clorox on mold spots help? My parents house is so full of mold it's literally not even possible to fight but I was wondering if bleach or Clorox not applied directly will help? I just want to spray parts of the ceiling turning brown and black.

Unless you know how to sweat a pipe you'll have to call a plumber.

>inb4 telling how to do it

You could burn your house down.
>>
>>1142521

Give the dude some credit, my dad taught me how to do it when I was like 13 and I never burnt a house down, I'm fairly sure a grown man with access to the internet can figure it out fairly safety.
>>
There are plenty of solutions that don't involve sweating. They have slip connectors for copper pipes, either a double slip or slip to thread. You just need to go down to your local hardware store, and ask someone about repairing copper pipes without sweating. Relatively easy, even for someone that isn't a plumber

As you can see in pic related I have all these building materials and just general crap available to me.

What do you suggest I could build with it?
I have the vague idea of wanting to build a small greenhouse or cabin/shelter(in the spot of the top first pic) that I can use to escape the distracting modern life or to relax in "outside" (hearing the birds chirp, seeing plants around, hearing people, seeing stars at night, doing writing or prayer in a distractionless/peaceful enviroment, sleeping etc.) while still being somewhat protected from the elements.
However I am open to any other suggestions that seem interesting. I might also set up some aquaponics on the outside.

Thank in advance.

Pic related is kind a what I have in mind.
How or where would I start in my situation.

I guess the general workplan would be this:
*Draw some blueprints/sketches
*Clean up and sort
*Lay the foundation
*Make a wireframe
*Build the walls
*Finish with roof

Anything I am missing?
I just thought of all this about 1 hour a go when I noticed how much crap I have that needs to be put to good use.

Looks like a pile of garbage from a hoarder. You don't have enough of anything to build something and if you did you'd spend more time dicking around than just going to the store and buying framing lumber and sheathing.

My budget is 10 dollar. Why else would I come to /diy/?

I am pretty sure I have enough material to build something useful. Even if it becomes a simple shanty or shack.

Whoever came up with slip joints for plumbing should be shot, then thrown off a cliff, then shot a few more times.

Had to replace a corroded metal sink trap, and I've had to take apart and put the whole thing together several times now.

Changing the pipe must have dislodged some sludge, causing a block. The stupid joints were leaking even with just an inch or two or water in the sink. That's flat out pathetic.

The next time it leaks, the whole thing is getting ripped out and replaced with regular sch 40. If it has to be completely glued together, than so be it.

The drain coming out of the wall has one of these, not sure the best way to go back to regular pvc since there isn't enough space to cut it off and glue on another coupling.

This is the typical example of a retard blaming his lack of skill on whatever he's working with. I wouldn't be surprised if you tightened them down with some channel locks and broke the tapered o ring.
>>
>>1142480
of course not, plastic threads are usually always hand tighten

it doesn't take any skill to put the stupid things together, which is the reason it's so prone to leaking

Do any of you crochet? I just made this case for my recorder. It's actually inside out, you aren't supposed to see these lines running down the length of it, but I wanted the inside to be smooth so that my recorder couldn't snag on it.

I don't know how to do any fancy designs. I just know how to start a chain and then working my way up in a spiral, weaving into the loops that I've given myself below wherever I'm at.

I really like crochet. It's strong and very easy to do. The only downside to it is that it's really fucking time consuming.

If you can, I recommend crocheting around an object. It helps you in two ways

1.) it acts as a guide and holds your piece in place.
2.) it maintains the shape that you want.

Crocheting around this baseball bat, for example, was very easy and for that "penis sock" in my OP image I crocheted around a wooden closet rod. Weaving it around the rod tightly kept it that shape the entire time, so when I slid it off it stayed that way.

If you don't crochet around an object, you have to constantly tug at it and reshape it yourself otherwise it'll just do its own thing.

I received the baseball bat as a gift years ago and have never actually taken it outside to play with. One of these days I want to just start whacking balls with it and see how long my crochet holds up before it starts tearing off.

It'll be interesting to see how it holds up in 10-20 years. And I have to wonder if it would actually offer any benefits over premade foam molds.

Also lol at the back of the fridge right up against a window.

There are a bunch of ways to drive down the costs of housing and I think that this is definitely in the step in the right direction. Automating the construction of housing is going to be a boon.

I think utilizing materials on the property is the way to go as well when it comes to what the house is made out of. People in South America, for example, buy brick making machines and they mix rocks with the clay that is already in the ground they stand on to create the bricks for their own house.

I don't want to say that people should be entitled to owning a home, but I think having your own home is the most important thing to have in life.

How do they get the robot out of the house once it's built? Alternatively if the robot doesn't put the roof on itself (which it probably can't), do they have prefab roofs or another robot or do they have to get real people in to do those?

I recently bought an average size house of typical stick frame construction.

Thing is I live in Kansas and it gets disgustingly hot in the summer. Soon after I moved in I planted a few shade trees on the south and west ends of the lot but it wil be quite a while before they give me some relief.

Besides the obvious like eliminating drafts, what are the most cost effective ways of making a house more energy efficient in the summer? I plan to keep the house at 78 degrees when the mercury rises.

Insulated blackout curtains on all windows.

Switch to LED bulbs (incandescents put out 95% heat, plus you save on electric).

Check all weatherstripping.

Add insulation in the attic.

Get a programmable thermostat.

Get an insulating blanket for your water heater.

Once upon a time you could just open all the windows and enjoy a breeze but the lack of windows in modern houses does not allow for good crossbreezes.
>>
>>1142307
Hang shading outside the house, especially over the windows. There are a million ways. Awnings are popular.

Close your blinds/curtains during the day. Not all blinds are equal. Google it.

Whole house fans really help cool the house down once the cooler evening temps set in.

Attic fans, on the other hand, generally hurt as much as they help. Passive attic ventilation (unless you have a sealed attic) is very important, though.

As is insulation. Adding some to your attic helps year round.

Place large furniture items (bookcases, dressers, etc) against outside walls. They act as extra insulation. Built-in bookshelves especially.

I'm experimenting, looking to build custom lights in the near future for desk, walls shelving. everywhere.

I mocked up my logo for the 1st time with copper wire soldered together, not sure where to go from here. The only thing i can think of right now is cutting copper wires and putting them as a pattern inside shapes, the cast in resin and shine leds thru it. Any one have a good suggestion? Also lighting general!

>Cut pieces out of material of your choosing
>Mount material of your choosing with single peg of some sort in the middle of the piece
>Run led lighting on the backside of the piece around the edges, but far enough from edges that you can't see it
>Run wiring for led down side of peg it's mounted on and through whatever you mount the entire piece on
>Easy backlit raised logo

Etched plexiglass or acrylic?

If so get a good dremel. Adjustable speed is key. Like not hi lo medium i mean 10 settings or variable knob. Use a practice piece to get a "feel" for it and have a plan to hide fuck ups. gently blow the shit out of your way as it scratches easy as fuck. Print out your shit, trace it, throw an smd led strip around it. Alpena (max) led are blinding and a good deal if you get 2 packs on amazon.

Really though i was onto something until all of the chads with snc and lazer machines caight on. Feels badman...
