hi guys,
i'm a complete retard. i'm looking for a tail light kit where i can do the following, but im not sure what parts i need:
1) i want to mount and left and right tail light on my car
2) that can both be indepently operated from 2 switches i will mount on my radio console area
3) that will be powered from electricity from my cigarette lighter AV plug (run over wires that go to the lights)
i have found a number of light kits and wiring, and i know i need to solder it together, but where can i find a premade switch console??
thanks for any help
that's dumb and probably illegal. now stop being a bad boy and focus on improving yourself rather than being a degenerate
Why not just wire like normal tail lights, but run the ground wire close to the driver where you can switch on/off easy.

i haven't done too much digging in the dashboard but i tried replacing both the turn signal lever assembly and both tail lights. problem still persists (both tail lights don't function at all)
so i want to make my own custom system basically as a failover so that i dont have to rely on any electricity coming from the car's battery/ECU
it's also not illegal bro hahah
I've recently swapped out the stock stereo in my 04 accord for an 05(?) 6 CD changer built in model and now the air control is fucked. Is there any way I can keep the cd changer and fix my air controls?

How about you do some fucking troubleshooting and then ask for help
So I'm looking for a pent roof shed to use as a workspace 7x5 foot, what is the difference between rustic overlapped walls compared to tong and groove. Is it worth the £60 price mark up

Got a picture of the two exterior finishes?

Now fuck off.
Who do I call if I want someone to not really fix, but more so just inspect my dryer to see if it's up to date
>inspect my dryer
if it works its fine
what makes you think otherwise?
did you really forget the word for service...

Is it working?
>Yes
Then who gives a fuck
>No
Fix it
Anyone know how feasible it would be to fill sparring/training mats with sand and how would I go about doing that?
You mean for falling on? Not a good idea, you're gonna need a metric dickload of sand to make them thick enough and with that much sand you might be able to drag them across the floor but definitely not lift.
As to how, you could open up a seam and just pour it in there I guess.
Sand is not a good impact absorber in comparison to foam. Falling on it hurts.

I'm doing some housework for my elderly uncle and I need some help confirming that a new light kit is compatible with an older ceiling fan.
The fan is here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/877613/Ellington-Elevating-Style-Eln52ab5.html?page=1#manual (the BC5W)
The kit is here: https://www.build.com/ellington-fans-euc32/s804087?uid=2071517&source=gg-gba-pla_2071517____103559132479&s_kwcid=AL!4215!3!103559132479!!!g!62718937159!&cawelaid=120135390007851526&cagpspn=pla&caagid=26194803919&catci=pla-62718937159&gclid=CjwKEAjw1a3KBRCY9cfsmdmWgQ0SJAATUZ8bd7qQKBt-YoNDVbBDlEzQKg4DXHfsRQqoNCWDFNs7mxoCV3Dw_wcB
He's got some older shades he wants to use, too.
I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks, anon.
I left a good amount of furniture, more pertinently being a large cloth sectional, uncovered in a storage unit for a year. Everything is now of course covered in a good layer of dust and dirt.
My plan is to wipe down stuff like the dresser, table, etc but I wanted some advice as to how to clean the couch. Simple vacuuming enough? Would a steam vacuum be best? Or is it thoroughly fucked?
Thanks
>>1197711
vacuum then steam clean if you feel like it. really depends on the outcome of the vacuuming. Also, do not wipe down. it will just impregnate the fabric with dust, similar to trying to wipe ash off of fabric.
Hey guys! I have a couple of questions if anyone can help me,,
I want to build a solar oven based off pic related. Turn it on it's side so it is a side opening door (think pizza oven)
- Could I build out of ply? I have some offcuts but I think pic related would be simpler and more effective.
- Does it matter that it will be steel on top? Most solar ovens are top loading with perspex or similar lid. Surely the heat will transfer just as well through the metal than the glass?
-Should I burn it out a few times first before using it?
- Will bubble wrap insulation be enough? I have half a roll, if it's not sufficient will 3m board insulation be better?
- How big should I make the reflectors? For simplicity sake I'm going to make them rectangle, and just mount them on simple hinges, adjusting the angle with string between each other
- Aluminium (cooking) foil for the reflective surfaces okay?
Any help would be really appreciated! I've been roped into building this thing!

>I want to build a solar oven based off pic related
Why discuss it if its not relevant?
Did you mean to say ' based on ' ??
>>1197648
'based off' is synonymous with 'based on', dude, but thanks for being pedantic over nothing

I'm totally lost on this one:
I have an RFID module (RC522), connected to an arduino nano, and using the library from:
https://github.com/miguelbalboa/rfid
it's working correctly, as I can read and write to the cards that came with the module using the example sketches from the library, but looking at the code, I don't understand it nearly enough to even begin modifying it to do what I need...
what I need:
take an ascii string from the serial input (serial console for now would be fine for the proof of concept), and write hex to a specific type of RFID tag, starting at a specific spot.
these specific tags are compatible with the module as I have successfully been able to read them with the sample sketches. according to those, it is:
PICC type: MIFARE Ultralight or Ultralight C
(whereas the tags that came with the module say: PICC type: MIFARE 1KB)
******
I need to input ascii text to the serial (via console or otherwise), for example:
data1,data2,data3
and write to the card:
03: 00 00 00 FF
04: xx xx xx xx
05: xx xx xx xx
06: 64 61 74 61
07: 31 2F 64 61
08: 74 61 32 2F
09: 64 61 74 61
0A: 33 xx xx xx
notes:
03 will always be "00 00 00 FF"
the commas have been replaced with forward slashes (2F)
"xx" means empty/blank/no data (00?)
the data inputted could be any length, so the data being written to the card would extend beyond 0A
THEN,
I need to verify:
read the tag and print to the serial:
03: [the contents of 03, in hex]
data1: [the contents of data1, in ascii]
data2: [the contents of data2, in ascii]
data3: [the contents of data3, in ascii]
note:
for now, "data3" will always be the same number of characters in length, in this case, 5
I've worked with Arduino before, reading inputs/sensors and outputting to motors, LEDs, LCDs, VFDs and OLEDs... but this RFID seems to be a whole other beast-- at least, this library seems to make it.
I would tremendously appreciate any help or links to info that would lead me to producing desirable results.
Thanks
I've been thinking of cleaning my balcony but the material is a strange rubber paint or coating. Do you guys have any ideas what products could deep clean my balcony? I was thinking TSP, but open to other suggestions.

Hello /diy/
>> Guitar / guitar effects thread.
I've found "free" download of Positive Grid BIAS FX but i need special adapter for that. Do you know if there is any kind of cheaper replacement ? Let's be real 400$ is kinda expensive for me (poor ass student from second world country) Pic related

Get the Ampkit Link 2. Its shit compared to the other interfaces, it uses batteries but will still give you feedback. but its cheap af and it will get the job done. if your that desperate. still i would recommend saving money and getting the more expensive ones the feedback really kills your tone,
Do you have any detailed infographic that explains the specs of this kind of cables and some usage example for different size cables? I've seen these cables with more than 3 variations inside, I know that the general 3-polar cable is the most used in houses, what are the other cables used for?
>>1197037
google "wire cables color code"
That cable would be used for a 240v system with one ground, one neutral and two hot wires.

Just check for NYM-J / NYM-O

I'm looking into making a backpack speaker system for parties, and I'm not talking some Bluetooth speaker either. I have a good budget ~$250 and some supplies already (SLA battery, large backpack, X2 5 1/4" Sony Xplöd car speakers, 12" Kicker Sub).
The main problem is finding a good amp, speaker config, and just general installation. I have a stock 2006 Ford Taurus radio which would be really cool to get up and running but it's probably crap and I wouldn't know how to hook it up.
I've made many bad purchases in the quest for a good system and I want to settle it here for the ultimate deal. Also, loud/deep bass is a requirement
>>1197036
you are looking at portable PA systems, for that budget Behringer MPA40BT-PRO is a good choice, which would be good enough for anything your "party" will ever need
>>1197036
Well, you gonna meed wuite the battery. And i highly suggest a cooler with wheels ass this shit is gonna be intense. A 250 watt or bigger amp depending on the sub should be plenty if ots also kicker. Get a 1 channel mono amp.
If you want to get a cheapass cd player they are like 60 bucks at walmart and u can run it with your phone. Get the amp there also. Jist run the speakers to the radio.
How many watts rms and max does that sub say?
>>1197050
Well, fuck $250 will actually buy you a bangin bluetooth sub op.
i have an old bike where i think the cdi ignition box went bad and i dont wanna pay 200-300 bucks for a new one since its a beater i got for $100 anyway that i just wanna get running. i was thinking of using a pair of cheap dc cdi boxes meant for pocket bikes and child atvs since it would be extremely cheap and if it works, fuck it it works.
btw numbers indicate how the old box is wired and how it would correlate to the new boxes.
you guys think it would work?
So I found these scrap speakers and I wanted to put them in something like an Altoids can or a Coke can, but they're not very loud. Is there any way that I could make them louder? I can solder but I'm not very fond of circuitry.
Throw them in the trash.
>>1196769
Damn. Okay.
>>1196750
Those are headphone drivers my man, they won't play loud as they are mechanically not capable of larger excursions. Do a proper DIY speaker project, drivers are cheap!
