(OP here) I personally prefer imagining myself as the one being auctioned off and I'm trying to figure out how to play that in the bedroom. What we did.
Start with a poker game that we all started with the same amount. After an hour we then did the auction. Some people ended up with two slave, some with none.

Then you show all the slaves once to the crowd and auction the slaves off with the fake money.
The doms then take the slaves to a backroom and have their fun.
For added fun, if the dom feels finished but the slave wants more, the dom can re-auction the slave.
The plan would be to have this game go on over multiple munches, so dom learn to bid well.

Towards the end of the most recent slavery thread, there was discussion about erotic video games, and how a game where you played as a slave would work.

I suggested the idea of a game about being auctioned off, but didn't get any responses because the thread died right after that. I'm wondering what people here think of the concept.

A majority of the game play would actually be character creation. You'd customize your appearance, choose skills, sexual experience, etc. Then you're auctioned off.

There would be several NPC buyers, each with difference preferences. How well you match what a buyer is looking for will determine the maxim price they're willing to pay for you.

You could control your demeanor on the auction block. Do you act meekly resigned to your fate, angry and defiant, or actively egg on the buyers? Which would be another factor influencing how interested in you each buyer is, depending on their preferences.

Once the action is over you get a end scene describing your life with your new owner. Each buyer would have a different ending. Maybe you become a nobleman's pampered pet. Maybe you're the new cheap hole in a brothel.

I'm thinking the way it would work is that each buyer has a list of traits they're looking for, and a value assigned to each one. For every one of their desired traits you have, the associated value is added to their max bid. There can be overlap. Probably a lot of buyers will like big tits for instance, but it will be more important to some than others, and they'll all have other things they're looking for too.

The game will then proceed like a real auction. With each interested buyer bidding until they hit the ceiling of what they're willing to pay for you and drop out. You may have a combination of traits that's highly appealing to multiple buyers. Which would drive up your price with a bidding war.

Also bear in mind that it's not just appearance that influences their desire for you. It's also things like "can you cook?" and "are you a virgin?" Some buyers would be more interested in your skills than your body. If you have a head for numbers you might end up some merchant's slave accountant. With the fact that he can fuck you whenever he feels like just being an additional perk rather than the main point of owning you.

I was also thinking there could be a large pool of potential buyers. With only a few randomly selected ones showing up to a given auction. So it would be possible to replay the exact same character and get different results.

Yeah, that would be good for replay value. It would also make it easier to design the buyers and add new ones later. Wouldn't have to worry so much about buyers with similar tastes eclipsing each other.

The first could be the pure customization of the character, the second could be interacting with other slaves and making changing to your traits. Such as clothes or hair color and so on, giving you different forms of appearance. Third phase could be the auction yourself where you're presented with random buyers and get to choose how you'll react to the bidding. Your behavior on stage might sway one buyer, giving you a different outcome.

After you're bought, you get a description of what becomes of you in the hands of that particular buyer, in the same style as the "bad ends" in a lot of porn games. And that's the end. The idea is that it's a game about being auctioned off. Not about life as a slave.

Honestly I don't think it would be feasible for the game to continue in any significant way after you're sold. Not while sticking to the idea of many different buyers with many different plans for how they'll use you.

Phase 1:

Who are you? What's your name? Your background, your looks, your skills, etc.?

There'll be point values for skills and backgrounds; you'll have a lot of options for looks, but they'll all be free.

Phase 2: The Slave Pens

Before being auctioned, the buyers need to know a little about you. So you'll be subjected to tests, some roleplaying events, like a chance to escape, a scene where you can choose to help another slave, and several opportunities for sex (although let's be fair, some of those “opportunities” you won't be allowed to turn down...).

Slave “classes” will be available – you will be permitted to choose one or two, and others will be inflicted (the game determines randomly what skills and fetishes are in demand).

Phase 3: Meeting the Buyers

Well-trained slaves are given a chance to mingle with prospective buyers, allowing them to try and flirt their way into a better life. Rebellious ones find themselves trapped in a pillory or a wall, or serving as a decoration / footrest. Mouths are left un-gagged for these scenes to let you talk to buyers; well-trained slaves can talk to anyone, bound ones can only speak to buyers who come over to (ab)use them.

Some of these scenes will be set during auctions, others at events where a wealthy individual has purchased the services of the slaving company that owns you. There will be occasional mini-auctions where you are sold for a brief period of time, and that gives you the chance to suck up to a temporary owner you like to coax them into buying you permanently.

Interspersed are scenes from the slave pens.

Phase 4: The Auction

Here you're allowed a few final actions that you can use to beg, plead, flirt, or curse violently. Then the auction runs, with results determined by your various scores, and you go to your forever home. There can be twists here, like bad ends for certain types of slaves or “secret” buyers, or even being resold to someone else after the auction.

Id say if you're really interested, try this as a free text based CYOA game first, like corruption of champions. This could be for a really niche crowd only so it would be a shame to put a lot of effort into it only for it to kinda flop. But if it becomes popular, definitely develop it with 3D graphics and more detailed character creation.
