Different anon but I feel most trap games fall flat on the actual core element that makes being a trap interesting (mind you, there might be untranslated visual novels that do this but if that is the case they'll still not be very interactive).
Now, how you approach the following points is up to you (character actually wants to be a trap, character has been coerced into it, character stumbles into by accident, etc). The more important part is that these are done in a way that is interesting for the player:
- Make learning to pick appropiate outfits and dressing in them an important mechanic but don't make the player have to individually dress up each item each time. Either give them a few presets or allow them to create presets. Have a mechanic so certain "missions/events" get better results or trigger as a reward for doing well (or punishment for doing badly)
- Similarly, learning about using proper accessories, make-up, etc and having the player use that is another thing to keep track off
- From there, make the progression so that the player can see their efforts pay off with each new milestone they achieve.
This is very barebones idea of how to do this (in a very anime way):
Player gets a job as a cosplay model. They are androgynous enough that they were accepted for the position (assumed to be a tomboy) and are now stuck in the position of their boss freaking out because of being told the female cosplayer they thought they had hired turns out to be a guy.
The boss goes into "I can fix this" and kinda doesn't give the soon-to-be-trap any choice but to pull through and helps him in the dressing room to be properly dolled up for the job.
From there you can establish a relationship where either the player takes it strictly professional or they go full trap (with everything in between, like maybe they only get some stuff for research)
Also, just for comparison, I'll be posting what some current games with similar themes do well and what they do badly:
- Cursed: Technically TG but it does have a ridiculously deep clothing system and a keeps track of how femenine or tomboyish you are (sadly, it is a bit of a bother when it comes to setting up outfits). It also keeps track of make-up, your hair length and your skill in wearing high heels (to the point it also will tell you when you have gotten so used to them you cannot wear regular clothing anymore)
- CoC: For all of its faults (and how criminally underdeveloped the trap/sissy aspect is) the actual stat tracking is quite well done. It keeps track separately of how androgynous your face looks, how long your hair is, if you have high heeled feet, breast size, etc. though sadly doesn't really do much.
- Trap Quest: Good job at keeping track of make-up, mental changes, heel skill, etc but its focus is more on making you a bimbo than a trap. There is no real option to be a classy trap in-game (fair enough, not the focus of the dev)
- Whorelock's Revenge: Has similar strength and weakneses as trap quest but at least you have the option to take advantadge of your good looks or talk your way out as a way to deal with encounters
You may notice a pattern with the last two. They want to make you a brainless cockslut, there is no way for the player to take initiative and say, become a trap dominatrix or keep it strictly separate from his "male persona" (think of locon's Kaname doujins).
This isn't necessarily bad but it shows the difference of emphasis Japan has when designing and portraying traps compared to what the west has stereotyped "sissies" to be.
There's this game called Trapt where you play as a Princess? and have to magically produce traps to kill all these people because reasons.
Now I'm imagining a Hgame wherein you turn yourself into different kinds of traps to catch or kill things.
It could start off with simple things, like a rope snare, and as you progress you unlock new kinds of traps and upgrades to existing ones.
So instead of a rope snare, it could be a tenticle snare.
Followup scenes change based on what trap you used.
I'd like to play something like that, and I agree its a core thing of being a trap (in my mind) to make an effort at passing. I like the idea in Cursed that you get so use to dressing femininely, and embraced it so much there's little chance of going back. Not necessarily all this sissy shit, but being something like a trap power bottom. It would seem all games either go full male to female, or sissy cockslut with nothing between or a domineering trap. Ryo Akizuki is a great trap. If you haven't read the manga it's worth checking out (Idolm@ster Neue Green).

Mind you, that is a road that should be included in the game in my opinion.
You go so far into it (be it strictly for business or because you end up genuinely enjoying it) that you start making decisions that become harder and harder to explain as a male like:
- Getting proper depilation (wax then later laser) as opposed to try to hide the body hair (even if the character it androgynous). I mean, it is becoming more common with males but not mainstream.
- Getting your ears pierced (ok, you can wear non-conspicious ones outside of work)
- Letting your hair and nails grow out (and getting proper services at a salon while dressed and with a female alias even if you say you are just doing it for work). You can try to pull off a heavy metal look but that is starting to be on the nose
- You start having almost exclusively female shampoos, soaps, perfumes, etc to keep your hair and skin just right
- You have more female outfits than male ones (possibly at some point not bothering to replace old male ones).
The exact point where the line is becomes foggier and foggier.
That is the kind of game that really hasn't been done yet IMHO.
And this isn't even getting into the sexuality and fetish fashion aspects.
Another thing I didn't mention there but is related, if you are working as a "female" model, there will be ocassions where you do a swimsuit shooting.
Now, if your boss is in on it maybe you can get away with doing some clever trickery with the photo angles but otherwise you'd need to tuck and possibly wear falsies.
And by the end of the day (or several days) you'd end up with a pretty conspicious tanline.
Of course, there is also the fact that the more popular you get the higher the chance someone might "mistake you" on the street or "recognize you" if you are out in drag.
There are all of these details that slowly start adding up and that I argue allow for such a game to "write itself" that it always makes me wonder why nobody tries to do so as a project.
The game doesn't have to be particularly complex (as I said, you can simplify the clothing instead of going way too ambitious like the guys in Cursed and Newlife ended up to in that regard while disregarding more interesting parts of how you interact with people).
It would be easy to berate developers for this but the truth is how could it be implemented? There's somethings I'd like to see along with what you mentioned, namely again the "slow turn" like dealing with slowly growing budding breasts, or even penile shrinkage if you go down some sort of HRT-like route. Some body changes that aren't full bimbo transformation.

I'd argue nobody has tried to do so before but for the sake of argument, there are a few templates on top of which I can see it working (mind you, I'd hide anything like HRT behind you making very definite choices towards becoming a girl and not just being a master crossdressser):
- Whorelock's Revenge already does this to some degree (albeit with a different focus). You unlock abilities as you level up and can decide to go for sexual abillities instead of combat-oriented ones. With a trap game you'd allow to unlock levels that are either very superficial (general performance, dance, etc), pragmatic (waxing, piercing of the ears, walking in heels semidecently) or actually quite feminine (laser waxing, advanced make-up, being a pro in heels) and eventually even HRT-style options once you are through all the ones from the feminine tree that would serve as the set-up to you deciding to go beyond being a impressively good crossdresser (maybe even 24/7 crossdresser) but rather you wanting to become a woman. You can all do that in an RPG fashion
2.) Cursed and Newlife. If you have played them you'll have noticed that they don't do an RPG style of system but rather keep track of different stats that then determine dynamically which events to trigger. This allows for a much more randomized and less "gamey" experience but conversely can reuslt in a spagetthi code and you focusing on the wrong things to prioritize. In theory I like how those games are set up but I feel that there might be something fundamentally flawed with trying to make a game with slow continual character progresson through such a system. It's more suited to having a preset character and see how you deal with certain situations. But I'd be delighted if a dev proves me wrong.
Mind you, I am not a dev myself. I could be wrong and having an RPG-style system is a horrible idea.

So, I was wondering, wouldn't it be relatively easy to make a sort of jRPG where the hero has been cursed and cannot equip "male equipment" anymore and only do female-exclusive jobs.
His quest being to get rid of the curse and the events of the game determining if:
- he goes back to being a male adventurer
- he goes back to being a "male adventurer" (looks and acts more like a female tomboy)
- gets rid of the curse but is so used to crossdressing/those jobs he won't go back to the "boring" jobs/equipment that males normally get
- beats the quest but is unable to get rid of the curse (regardless on if he enjoys it or not)
- forces the witch/demon/whatever to turn him into a full girl because he enjoys that lifestyle so much more.
I don't think that would require much setup, you can deal with the different endings using side/story quests and their results to determine different endings.

Fascinated you say that as while Alchemy doesn't do much right now (will be a lot more important later) I'd say and have seen feedback from others that Healing is seriously good to be able to keep your slaves in a reasonable state to train or put them in roles.

I have almost all of my slavers on missions so the slaves hardly ever get abused by anyone that isn't me training them.
With that said, I feel I don't know how to take advantadge of camp roles yet.
If you could clarify in the next version how to set them up, that would be appreciated.
There is something like that already though and if you talk to a slaver or slaver and pick the assign to encampment role option it'll come up.
Though I'll certainly cop you need to realise that talking to them in the first place is what you need to do.

To TrapQuest's credit Aika has said that, because of player feedback, game balance is going to change to make slutty strategies a viable path to victory.
Whorelock's Revenge is almost 100% RNG when it comes to transformation/events so spiraling out of control into some weird turboslut is inevitable.
So what impact would physical attributes have in a solely focused trap game, I can imagine something like penis size would be more difficult to hide and for the matter how much control over the PC's body would the player have?

'masculine mystique' and 'cursed' both quite well done (i thought) but unfinished. cursed also had a lot of clicking around doing mundane shit, like fair enough character progression is fine but when it takes 100 turns to do anything its a bit shit

Anyone here play No Haven? I'm curious if it's possible to use Corruption on a slave enough to turn them into a Succubus or not since it hasn't happened for me yet. Also, with Biomancy, how do you change a slave's race? It says that you need something for assistance, but I'm not sure what that is or how to get it.

You can get them close so they pretty much look like one, but full Succubusification is not yet implemented.
Same with Biomancy there will be a quest chain to obtain what you need to be able to do the more advanced stuff.
I tried playing No Haven.
There seems to be a problem with all your slavers making use of the slave at the bottom of your slave list to the extent that you'll never be able to train it.
There also doesn't seem to be a reliable way to reduce Con or Will on specific slaves.

Slave selection should alternate from top to bottom and bottom to top each, day course if one is more entertaining then yeah they're going to get a whole bunch more attention. Healing can help with that though and I'll be adding a way to place a slave off limits next big update.
There will be more slaving assignments like long horseback rides with a dildo saddle and forced exhibitionism.
Yeah I know about the array issues at the mo which is a bugger that needs dealing with. Hotfix is coming though not sure when.

That is more of a fix than a solution. Personally, I like the challenges from the Ensnared Rose and the new location to train specific slaves for them but I think bedlam should make it so you can basically create a "slave training assignment" for those requirement instead of doing it manually (you selecting a trainer and a slave and have them do the necessary trainings one at a time for that assignment instead of doing it manually).
It's a bigger time investment but it should be rewarded accordingly (and make the whole process less cumbersome)

There's always encampment roles so if you have too many you can stick slavers into guard roles and slaves into camp bitches to free up space to do some assignments and then unassign them.

I continually send them on assignments so they are productive and cannot gamble anything away.

Will the Camp leader ever be getting stats? Currently it feels like they're the most useless person in the camp, all they do is get drunk or robbed in town.
Do Ranks in exploration and stuff do anything other than give you a free slaver? Like does being rank 2 in exploration increase your exploration odds?
And if I hit no on the free slaver will it give me the option to get them again?
And a suggestion about camp positions.
When you have the detailed info about say, a brewer, you should also have a list of key traits that would make them better at it.
Also possibly something like a minimum requirement for slaves training for them to hold a position.
I really don't see the need for hard-coding this so much. If balance-fags start to bitch about it just wall it behind an option at the start. And with a bit of effort you could implement some sort of point-system, which prevents you from getting absolute bullshit or godlike starts.
You can pick up traits and go on the shorter assignments, but yeah more stuff to do is coming.
At the moment it increases your capacity, gives you a choice of five of a specific type of slaver and adds to your personal rep.
I've heard that and it'll be added. Most of it is what you'd expect like Brewer is Crafter: Brewing (C:Br) but I'll definitely add it. Slaves can do every position without training they're allowed in, they're just going to suck at it to some extent till they work out what they're doing and pick up the relevant trait.
Believe me I know. I'm currently heavy into seeing if I can get Whorelock's into Twine and I'm also getting a small amount of help on Unity. It's already damn massive though so the task of conversion is not something that's going to be entered into lightly.
In terms of the Corruption magic, can you maybe find a way to make it less random? It's alright as it is now, but I would like to be able to have some kind of control on how it affects the slave, like picking between more demonic features, adding/removing traits, etc.

I had a slaver that refused to gain any morale so I turned them into a bed warmer, but until I actually noticed that I kept sending them out and getting the low morale penalty.

Hey guys. I'm also making a porn RPG (been working on it off and on for over a year now) and I'm planning on putting a demo probably within a few months.
I'm bad at describing this from an outside perspective, so some quick notes:
-The game's combat is based around weapons that corrupt the user. These will cause lewd animations but also a chance at losing control of your character.
-You don't have use the corruption weapons, especially if you're going for a purity run. It'll be a bit more difficult this way however.
-Your max party size is three. If your party is of the main MC and another character, you'll be able to do dating-ish stuff with them.
-You play as a witch, so you'll do lots of witchy things: herb gathering, casting curses, and building a broom to fly around on.
-I'm going for Super Robot Taisen-ish casting spells and animations, except generally more lewd

A straight-up gameplay penalty for being female is really rough. The reputation malus makes sense, but maybe you should give femPCs a bonus when training XX slaves or something, so we aren't reliving the old "-4 STR" meme.

Free Cities 0.6, "The Prince," up at freecitiesblog.blogspot.com. The old Devotion system has been replaced by a dual Devotion/Trust (or if you're a jerk, Hatred/Fear) mechanism. There's a new intro sequence to introduce the world and explain the starting options, but you can skip it, since devs who include unskippable intro sequences are literally Satan. Also during the intro you can decide to be a girl or something, idk.

Right now it's just scene alterations and the rep malus, but more variations are definitely planned. FemPC will always be the FC PC though, so it's not like she's going to be nice to her bitches or anything.

Another problem is when you reach the slaver and slave caps.
There's no way to get rid of your own Slavers, only one way to get rid of random slaves that I can find.
Are Crafting and Trade routes actually in the game?
I think this is a bug senpai, both these slave are accepting.
I'd imagine the oligarch would get inured to the excess eventually.
In both versions there's a little status bar to the right that shows your physical appearance.
The porn version has a mashup of real-life porn images showing different body parts and is pretty shit.
The drawn version has a 2D hand-drawn avatar fulfilling the same role and is perhaps slightly less shitty, although it is incomplete.

Pronouns are player's choice. Boobs + vag + male appellation and the reverse should work just fine.

Probably, yeah. Could give a minor trust bonus for recruited/purchased XX slaves, since they'll fear FemPC a little less than a male PC in a Gender Traditionalist society.

For now they all start at 0 trust, which actually isn't too unreasonable. Trust is a more specific-to-the-PC stat than devotion in my mind. If the hardcoded slaves totally trusted or abjectly feared their old master, they won't necessarily expect you to be the same.

And the disappointing part is that it didn't have to be. So much of the trouble is because they didn't make the exact borders between /h/, /d/ and /aco/ clear - even to the janitors! Personally I think it would have been best to make /aco/ Western-/h/, and keep western /d/ on /d/ since /h/ kids don't want to see dickgirls, but anything would have worked if they'd made it clear.

Natural intelligence gives a boost to beauty in addition to its other positive effects, while stupidity gives a penalty. Average is a minor penalty. Intelligence and stupidity are now flipped when breaking slaves--intelligence leads to acceptance where stupidity creates resistance. Greatly increases the penalty for mindbroken slaves.
This is compatible with Degradationist society, in that intelligent slaves are just seen as superior tools. Their actual status is not necessarily any better than in other societies--even incredibly intelligent slaves are inferior in status to the dumbest free man.
Unique clothing: flowing white robes which tantalizingly obscure the genitals without concealing them. A wise man knows that mystery is the core of eroticism.
Doesn't need a unique namelist, but slaves could use the names of famous philosophers/thinkers as an in-universe form of pretension.

This isn't feature creep. Feature creep is when the fundamental building blocks of a game are delayed in favour of new and shiny bullshit frippery. The fundamental building blocks of FC are already coded, and expanding the scope of the game is exactly what comes next.
Given the heavy Chaos influence random for it fits. If you want somewhat more reliable changes you want Biomancy or the upcoming Alchemy potions.

The former. The bottleneck is always motivation, and nothing kills motivation like having to take a three-month course before you write your first line of code. Just open up someone's game and figure out how they do things and reverse engineer it from 'Hello World' up.
To be honest I'm not sure about the pros and cons of the different platforms yet, gonna need to do some research first. Rpgmaker would probably be easier for a first project, but I kind of want to jump on the text only slave management bandwagon.
Then go for RenPy. That's actually not difficult at all either.
However, you might need to learn some scripting for that, depending on what you want to do exactly.
RenPy comes with a tutorial, which is basically somewhat of a VN itself.

Speaking as someone making a slave management game you really do not use Ren'py unless you're an expert at Ren'py already or have decent coding experience. Great for Visual Novels and Princess Makers given all the support is for those things, utter balls for everything else with out a whole bunch of hard to find know how. Oh, I meant like the first months or year when it was out and playable. It had like a butler or something that you could change from being a catboy into a catgirl. Last time I played it, they got rid of that and just rebooted the whole thing to be completely different from what I had played before. The writers really amped up the BACKSTORY and PLOT development in the beginning as well, which is a huge boner killer and made me just not care about it anymore.

Right to the point. Been trying to learn drawing for a long time, but after getting with basics it goes to learn anatomy/geometry/other abstract stuff and my motivation tanks. I am software developer by trade and really just wanna draw some sexy female bodies for a game, but it's so much abstract learning away it gets depressing.

I have books on that, but they suck motivation right out of you.
I found some guy online saying he learned how to draw by just copying stuff, so I did that as well and actually made progress (posted some Disney stuff of that on aco).
However, I never developed my own style due to that, I am just good at copying other people's styles, so nothing really feels like it's truly my own. Don't know if I would recommend that method therefore.

It's not even that the writing is bad. The focus of a porn game should be about the porn and not about the story. Put the background section in a tab on the main menu so that someone who wants to do so can look at the background of the setting before they dig into the porn. Maybe it's better now, but when I checked in on Slablands, it was just a bunch of writing about how your character got to the battle against the demon overlord and whatnot and I just could not be bothered to read all of it because I wanted to fap.
