To the guy who asked if I'm gonna use the gt qt daki:
I got the right pillow and all, but I live with 2 friends. If they or anyone finds out about this I'm probably gonna get skinned alive. You already said it: owning a daki is bad, but a fetish daki is even worse.
I always use a second, normal pillow cover to hide the lewd stuff. I only take it out at night or when I know I'm alone. During the day it's just a normal pillow you can chill with.
>>6619509 I just forwarded a link of a definition of it to her once, because at the time when the family was watching stuff on Netflix and it'd happen to have monster movie parodies or what have you, I would leave to go get a drink or something and really just try to wait out the scene, because it's awkward and uncomfortable out of left field. And then when I got back, they'd rewind it anyways, which was supremely unhelpful. So that ended that.
Only reason I didn't tell my father at the time was because I didn't want him to feel awkward rambling about his favorite football team. He knows anyways, now, and yet I can still snicker unnoticed when he goes on about how he'll have the (New York) Giants on his mind all the time or stuff like that.
>>6620082 >Why can't you people just enjoy settling in between some big ol boobies? I do, and I also enjoy the torture-crush-death aspect. I for one don't get people who put limitations on every other aspect. Like people who only can enjoy giantess IF it's (so and so).
>>6620082 Because a big draw for a lot of people is the whole "giant gurls are stronk" or "person I can relate to is humiliated" aspect. Part of power dynamics and stuff.
And squishing something/someone is a pretty easy way to demonstrate that a given girl is stronk, along with showing their detachment and lack of regard a for smaller person.
Even if I really like violence/death (along with gentle stuff), I have to agree that torture is kinda pushing it a little. Unless it's something really simple like trapping a guy in clothing, the larger party has to put a certain amount of effort towards making the smaller party unhappy. And that's showing that they care a little about the guy. That only really works as a revenge thing or if the girl is an outright sadist, both of which are pretty hard to pull off right. I can sorta understand why people might like that, but it just doesn't appeal to me.
My ideal murderfag scenario has lots of hurt in it, but they're a side-effect of a big girl having fun and not caring about small people's well-being, not the goal of the big girl's actions.
How does this make any sense? The entire appeal of the Oculus Rift has been that it will be *consumer level* VR. Their whole existence these last few years has been predicated on the idea that VR is going to be the next big thing.
Now it costs more than a console. GG. If not for VR devices in general (is this an indication that the other devices will be similarly priced?), than certainly for the Oculus Rift's market share.
Basically, VR was always going to be expensive enough - both in terms of the device itself, and in terms of the hardware requirements to use it with modern games - that it would have a slow market growth. This is just going to slow it down even more. Less people buying it, which leads to less people developing for it, which leads to less people buying it ... and so on.
Who wants to drop $600 on a novelty device that has reasonably demanding hardware requirements and which very few games support? Answer: a VERY small portion of the market.
>The most exciting development in the world of increasingly popular searches, however, comes in the form of something quite large indeed. The wonderful world of "giantess," which of course refers to larger-than-life women engaging in acts with noticeably tiny partners (duh), garnered a massive 1,091 percent increase in search frequency in 2015.
>>6620757 Are you fucking kidding me? A THOUSAND percent increase? How do you not expect it to top the charts within the next few years? With all this material coming out in the mainstream with giant girls, it's really no surprise.
>>6620739 This is an overwhelmingly good thing though.
Getting increased notice due to things like SizeCon, which make us look embarrassing, is bad. It means people are just laughing at us.
Getting increased notice as interest develops *naturally* is good. It means people are genuinely interested in the fetish and its content. More interest = more content.
On the other hand, it's not clear that this actually indicates an increased interest in the fetish, just a relative increase in the number of searches on that particular website. There could be a bunch of different reasons for this, including the simple fact that most of the giantess fans who posted pirated content on other websites have seemingly moved to pornhub in the last year or so. It's just become the go-to place for pirated videos over the last year.
So instead of bitching about normalfags like autist for a second, can we talk about the lewd princess game like autist? Will the tower have a CG in the future? Will the boat do something? Will we liberate the desert from ISIS? Will we get a translation or never ever happy gold man?
>>6620809 Ehh, it's a kids movie, and the predominant "giantess" seems to be a little girl.
I hope that movie doesn't really spark an increase in *adult* giantess fetishists. That'd be a little off (unless there are some interesting scenes with of-age giant women that the parents might enjoy ... which is unlikely given that it's a Disney movie).
But it seems like many of us got our "start" at younger ages with movies like Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Alice in Wonderland, TV cartoons with shrinking themes, etc, so I could certainly see this movie kicking off something in the younger audiences such that we might see some increase in the "community" years down the line ...
I feel like "funny, but still hot" scenes like at the end of Dude Where's My Car are probably the best bet we have for gaining an influx of new *adult* giantess fans. Imagine all the new members we'd see in if we got such a scene in a modern movie with a star like Jennifer Lawrence.
>>6620845 Sure. But it seems like the former is much more common whenever the topic of "when did you know you liked size stuff" comes up. Regardless, like I said in the final paragraph of >>6620837, I think the inclusion of a giantess in some mainstream film (especially if it were some popular star) would see an influx of members at the various fetish sites.
At the end of the day, if we're trying to find new *adult* giantess fans, I think that "did you know there was this convention for people who have a fetish for giant women" is probably a poor way to advertise. On the other hand, "wow, that scene where Jennifer Lawrence grew into a giant in that movie was kinda hot ..." is probably pretty good.
>>6620846 The impression I get is that the girl in the new Disney movie is a fair bit younger ... and presumably acts it as well. Alice was certainly underaged, but she acted a lot more mature than most 18+ year olds I know (myself included :^) )
Still, it's one thing to look at Alice in Wonderland AS someone with a size fetish and derive some pleasure from the themes. It's another thing for someone who isn't aware of the fetish to sit in a theater, see an exceptionally under aged giant girl, and think "hmm, I might want to search the internet for images/videos of sexy giant women".
>>6620837 >some interesting scenes with of-age giant women that the parents might enjoy >unlikely given that it's a Disney movie
>Naked scene in Mulan >Striptease in The Great Mouse Detective >Everything with Shego in Kim Possible and Tinkerbell in Peter Pan >Three girls with Gainax breasts in Beauty and the Beast >THEN TELL ME, MARIA, WHY I SEE HER DANCING THERE, WHY HER SMOULDERING EYES STILL SCORCH MY SOUL
>>6620906 Hey, I live in hope too. I just don't think it's *likely* we'll get anything particularly interesting from the movie. It's about managing expectations.
Then again, the giantess community has historically been horrible at managing expectations. We get a pretty decent amount of professional size content in movies, tv, ads, music video clips, etc, but every other day you hear someone complaining about the "drought" of mainstream content. It's like people are expecting scenes with explicit content in the Ant-Man movie, or in random TV commercials, or something.
Hey, I'm the asshole who started translating the Ochiko's Mami RPG then stopped because the japanese used in the later half was too difficult and didn't tell anybody about it. I have decrypted the Priness RPG and after work I will tale a look at translating it. But f I can't make sense of it, then tough. anyway, here's some giant princess vagina.
>>6620760 Don't fool yourself, giantess will never become mainstream. We derive pleasure from a very extreme form of domination that doesn't even exist. Our condition is classified as a paraphilia, which statistically speaking is extraordinarily rare. You have nothing to worry about.
>>6620770 Me. All those searches are from me... and the thousands of people who fled lifefetish after it got taken down.
>>6620809 >Normal fags are going to get into the fetish though thanks to that new Disney movie A whole generation of confused kids fapping it to giantesses will have to look to us elders for guidance. We will train them in the ways of google image search, teach them proper shitposting form, guide these impressionable youths away from the temptation of 3D videos, then tell them to fuck off to /aco/ like the newfags they are.
I don't actually think it's possible for someone to put up a translation of this unless that someone had access to the source data (so YDNKM I guess) because there's no data folder to work with and it's just baked into the .exe.
I'm honestly unsure of the whole giantess thing getting more well known. On one hand, it'll mean more artist, more chances to do fun RPs with those into it for both the fetish and just enjoying size difference itself, and also push for new content.
I'm -really- hoping the con doesn't happen, as then people will straight up get the wrong idea. I get worried on the more 'rich and well known' people shoving their character and other bullshit into what should be an enjoyable game/movie or whatever. Like Duncan did to the furry fandom with the whole monsters game.
I don't want people to get to a point they think poorly of someone at once when learning of the preference straight from the get-go. I mostly get confused looks when I note I like it in RP sessions or through other types of media. At most folks just shrug or laugh a bit. Not in a mean way, but just more in 'Well, today I learned of a new thing' type of deal. I rather it stay to that in the end.
P.S. I swear, if I see a CSI episode with a death through 'GTS' fetish. . .
A human translation for Ochiko's new game is all well and good, but has anyone been able to manage even a machine translation? Neither AGTH or ChiiTrans Lite was able to hook onto the game's text when I tried. Anyone know of a program that is able to?
>>6621159 >CSI episode with a death through 'GTS' fetish
I think there actually was an episode of CSI or some other sort of crime drama TV show that had an episode about the murder of a girl doing GTS vore videos and had an endo camera view down into her stomach at one point while investigators watched in confused horror.
I can't find the video of that scene on youtube but I swear it's out there.
>>6621159 I don't want it to get popular enough so that accidentally good content, like a possible interaction in Antman 2 or that upcoming Disney thing, get snubbed for being too associated with weirdos like us.
>>6620739 Oh crikey, I started using pornhub to search for giantess that year out of content desperation (found a good amount of those neat Gen's Labo videos, Asian women in boots make my dick smile). So if it makes those statistic any less scary, half of these searches are probably just me on several long, long Saturday nights.
>Us becoming mainstream Please, no. I honestly like our shitty sekrit klub. Right now nobody has any associations/stereotypes associated with the fetish because we have historically mostly kept to ourselves, and most people outside of non-mainstream internet have never heard of it as a fetish.
This reminds me of an interesting article I read a while ago. I don't really have much of a point I'm making with this, it just seems relevant.
http://www.macrophile.com/html/megafurry.html Pardon the "furry" in the url, the article is just discussing size faggotry. Particularly this excerpt: >Macrophilia is a fairly widespread trait, and is found in individuals of many different ethnic and social backgrounds. No common element has yet been found that can point to an environmental cuse, although three characteristics are repeatedly seen: >Macrophilia manifests itself in very early childhood. Children with macrophilic tendencies commonly exhibit a sexual or pseudo-sexual response to giants long before physical puberty. >Macrophila is almost always a guilty pleasure. This is perhaps related to the previous observation, as sexuality in very young children is looked down upon, and the associated repression and guilt carry over into adulthood. Macrophiles are extremely shy about thei tendencies, even among sympathetic peers, and to a greater degree than other fetishists. It is felt that this is the singular reason that macrophilia has not been more thoroughly reported in the literature of various cultures. >Macrophiles usually feel solated, and believe that few if any others share their desires.
>>6621541 An easy way to tell that we've been accumulating many normalfags recently is just how many posts like >>6621569 or >>6618982 that have been popping up trying to get to know us better. On fucking 4chan of all places.
>>6621582 Honestly, I consider this place to be one of the more normalfag boards I visit. It's kind of ironic considering it's /d/, but I think it should be obvious a large number of the posters here just come for fap fuel. I haven't noticed any significant increase in them. These kind of posts just come on and off. I think size actually has less of them than the other threads I follow on /d/, but I really don't look at most of them as I only have a few fetishes that have threads here.
>>6621582 heyheyhey, I have been into macro/microphilia for as long as I can remember, and I am 22 now, but I only requested a greentext, because I was wondering how people react in the real world to learning of our fetish, as it hasn't happened to me yet. I have been playing it really close to the vest, and no one in my life has yet to know. I am not and have never been a normalfag, although I can see how someone can make this mistake.
I don't know how I should feel about gts becoming mainstream. Thing is, most articles you can read online state something along the lines of "the community is getting larger" (no pun intended).
If this is true, maybe it has something to do with younger generations having more and more problems connecting with each other because of the massive influx of the internet or the general "online life".
Although the increase on Pornhub is probably really just the guys who came from livefetish.
Also, fuck Jit and SizeCon. Glad they failed on a lot of stuff, especially being able to pay for most of what they planned. Hue. I fear the furry treatment.
>>6621475 Ehh, I really don't see this happening. I mean, we use furries all the time as *the* hated example, but anthropomorphic animals are still a staple of movies, tv shows, etc. Size change has long been a popular theme, they're not going to stop using it just because some small niche of fetishists "enjoy" it more than the average person. The same case can be made for all sorts of modern fetishes.
>>6621541 >Please, no. I honestly like our shitty sekrit klub. Honestly, I'm not sure I understand this sort of sentiment. Like you said, most of us keep our interest in the fetish secret. If the size fetishes became the internet laughing stock over night ... so what? How does that actually affect you in any meaningful way? Hell, it's likely we'd seen an influx of new content from such exposure anyway.
It certainly wouldn't be ideal. But if nobody knows about you having the fetish (or if the people who do know don't really care), what's the issue?
>Macrophiles usually feel solated, and believe that few if any others share their desires. I wouldn't be surprised if this were exactly the same for most of the "weird" fetishes out there though.
>>6621631 >Honestly, I consider this place to be one of the more normalfag boards I visit. I feel kinda the same way. I think it's probably because the board is basically made up of a whole bunch of fetishes living more-or-less in harmony with each other. There are just a lot of non-size-fetishists knocking around too. You just don't see that so much on giantess specific websites.
>>6621659 >Also, fuck Jit and SizeCon. Glad they failed on a lot of stuff, especially being able to pay for most of what they planned. They're still pushing forward, just with a different funding method. They seem adamant that the con will go ahead in some way, given that a number of people have already bought plane tickets.
>>6620739 I think that's probably saying more about how little giantess content was actually on the site and thus how few people actually searched for it. There's now more content, so more people search. And given that it's only an increase of a single order of magnitude, if there weren't many searching to begin with, that would not be hard to achieve. It will not sustain that level of growth.
It hasn't seen the largest increase in searches in raw numbers, only im percentages. It's somewhat misleading, but that's why statistics are fun.
I've found that machine translation can be surprisingly effective at these games for the size scenes at least. It's very easy to understand what the intended message is if you know the patterns to look for in the output.
I'm curious what you mean by manual context-editing though, is that some Atlas-Substitution stuff?
>>6621818 Machine translation, if used correctly, can get things mostly correct I found. Where it tends to screw up are any slang/idioms/turn of phrase. Vulgar words are hit or miss as are Japanese onomatopoeia.
What I mean by context-editing, is manually going through and fixing the borked grammar using context (since I do not read or speak Japanese anymore) and adding words to fill the gap that the translator(s) simply can't get right.
It was basically using Google Translates mobile photo translator, translating photos of the game, copying that Japanese text, then running it through several translators to get a good understanding of what it is saying.
It is time consuming, and thankfully it was a quiet day, or I wouldn't have bothered. But the text was nice a big and bright making image capture possible, so the hardest part was easy this time.
>>6621695 >Honestly, I'm not sure I understand this sort of sentiment. You're right, there's no tangible issue, it's more of just a pride thing. Even if it nobody else knows, I'LL know. I've felt guilty about having this weird fetish since I was a kid, I'd rather not have more reason to feel guilty about it.
As far as an influx of new content, you and I both know darn well that it'd have an even higher garbage:quality ratio than we have now. New entries will be almost entirely be a combination of 3DPD and DeviantArt-tier works. Though I'd love to be wrong on this and suddenly see a bunch of Jap artists say "Wow I've had this fetish for 20 years and am just now made aware of it! I must draw this!" Realistically though, that 'epiphany' would be more likely to be had by 13 year olds who never understood the funny feelings they had watching Alice in Wonderland or whatever.
>>Macrophiles usually feel solated, and believe that few if any others share their desires. >I wouldn't be surprised if this were exactly the same for most of the "weird" fetishes out there though. The point of the previous paragraph is that there's a tendancy among us to feel more isolated than even other "weird" fetishes, despite our apparent growing commonplaceness. I've met a number of people in real life who were into furshit, various levels of BDSM, strap-ons/futa, various anal insertions, watersports, and scat. Yet, I've never encountered a sizefag outside of porn sites like here.
>>6621317 Not posted, to my knowledge, though the early portions of it drawn by Ochiko are up and scattered about, for the most part. The rest of the book flip-flops between being cute and morbid, and then changes artists in a way that causes it to hilariously descend in quality as it goes until the last few pages are hastily scribbled as though at the last second. Sadly, it's one of two books I have that did that.
>>6621641 A great majority are backed up on other Youtube accounts in lower quality.
Then take the data.xp3.sig and data.xp3 file from the full game from the "funnygames" link in the game folder of the unzipped files. Use those to replace those two files in the same location of the DEMO version's unzipped files.
Surprisingly that method works. Enjoy the full game.
>>6621906 >You're right, there's no tangible issue, it's more of just a pride thing. Sure. It's just a real common worry that people seem to have, so I think it's worth reiterating that, really, the consequences aren't actually that dire. They might even be somewhat positive.
>As far as an influx of new content, you and I both know darn well that it'd have an even higher garbage:quality ratio than we have now. The ratio of good:bad would certainly be worse, but overall, I think it's reasonable to argue that the overall amount of "good" would increase. The ratio has always been pretty depressing, but even so, it's currently pretty easy to separate the wheat from the chaff when making the rounds on the various websites. I guess the point I'm making is that I'm willing to spend a little be longer sorting through it all if it means I leave with more, better work overall.
>The point of the previous paragraph is that there's a tendancy among us to feel more isolated than even other "weird" fetishes, despite our apparent growing commonplaceness. I'm just not sure how accurate this is though. Aside from furry stuff (which is easily more known in the public realm than size stuff), the other things you mentioned are "realistic" fetishes, things you can actually properly engage in. Hell, you could argue that the furry stuff is easier to engage with than size stuff, because there are no equivalent "giantess"/"shrinkee" suits we could wear around IRL, etc. (And thank-fucking-Christ for that!) It's something we have to do entirely within our head.
As far as my own personal anecdotes go, the other "weird", 100% unrealistic fetishes I've engaged with online *seem* to feel similarly isolated. Maybe I'm just totally off base here though?
>>6622613 Yeah, the game is made with RPGMaker MV. Unlike the previous versions MV doesn't do anything really special to encrypt the games now so it's stupidly easy to decrypt. I just fed the data files back into MV and now I'm replacing the text the same way Ochiko put it in.
>>6622985 Guy who originally "translated" here ... I wondered what the hell that name would be. I didn't think to actually sound it out like it would sound in Japanese. I might have gotten it, then.
>>6622999 Hey mate, good teamwork here. Thanks for doing this. I rarely see such collaboration here :) The next time Ochiko updates would be a good chance to iron out some of the original grammatical mistakes that made it on here, too.
>>6623023 If I must be honest you are a much better translator than I. I would have just done a direct translation so it would have read a little bland but you managed to spice up the script rather well. Although while you did great with the narrative parts I felt you changed her actual dialogue a bit too much so you'll notice I changed it a bit to be more closer to how she originally said it.
That said, if you ever want to do this again, whether for Ochiko's future games or his past ones, I'd be for it.
Going back to second city (after 'its the city I crushed with my pussy'): It's a bit embarrassing to see such an crisp indentation of my nethers filled with pussy juice.. It is a lake. Even though it will become a distinguishing feature of future maps in the region, it is still quite embarrassing..
>>6623402 They don't know about proxies, and they don't know how to search threads on pages where the preview images are placed, either. Lots of things people do not seem to know about that are confusing for people who are on the internet as much as people are here.
That said, I personally never go on a porn-hunt without a proxy, but I am paranoid that way..
As far as the whole "mainstream" shit goes, here's this riot grrl band from England whose main singer posts a bunch of shit with the #giantess tag on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/0OgQkBK8uz/?taken-by=handsoffgretel
Hi guys, Its been a while since I was here, managed somehow to get the translation from Dsjourn but found out after a while that the main game was lost in a HDD swept, therefore would anyone be so kind to provide me with a link to download the full game again (Shrink Gakuen Gaiden in case anyone was not able to infer so) Thanks in advance anons.
I think this princess story would work better if Calamity had the power to fix back reality, like Madoka in Ochiko's recent doujin when she restores Earth. Something like when you return to the second city's ruins (>>6623416): >Leave it like that >Bring back everyone to the cum-flooded ruins >Restore the city and everyone
This continent could be her kingdom and there would be others, and you could make it a world destruction story or a world conquer + daily domination story.
I guess it's a lot of work just to make these two scenes, but this has a lot of potential.
>>6623695 >Spoiled princess who just got the power to change reality as she pleases >Fucks over everything just because she can and knows nobody can't stop her >Is hot as fuck and horny all the time What is not to like?
>>6623695 I guess I disagree. What's the power trip worth if the people don't feel it, and the earth isn't changed from her destruction? I feel like it has more impact if someone like her permanently impacts the world and the inhabitants. If she can change things back, it's no different than one of Gary's models crushing a plastic city.
>>6623749 Well, if she just destroys the world it may be an impressive display of power, but there's no conscience left to value it. And then what? On the other hand, knowing that you are going to be used as a sex toy for the rest of your life, that there's no way to stop her and that the only reason you aren't dead is that she doesn't want to, now that's domination. She could kill everyone instantly and resurrect them, or she could make them invulnerable to her but make them feel every kilogram of her weight. And she could fix back the second city, or rebuild it as a Venice-like city in the middle of her pussy-form lake of cum. That's what makes a giant goddess rather than a giantess.
Also, what makes this character so fun is that she's a perverted, self-absorbed Disney-like princess, and I find making her a generic destroyer is a waste, she should be a ruler.
And we could have this other Ochiko princess as a conceited princess with the same powers from another kingdom. The type of closet pervert that would like to do the same things as Calamity but won't because it would be "improper" and instead uses bossy domination as an outlet. She would act as Calamity's rival because she wants her to take her seriously but Calamity would just find her amusing, until there was a yuri development.
>>6623942 That princess is from a game. Besides, i like the idea of Princess Calamity being the only one with powers, makes it better when there is nothing equal to her, let alone able to stop her. The head maid or bigger sister trying to stop her in vain everytime would be funny though.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the issue isn't that I "hate" her. Quite the opposite - she seems to be quite a lovely, genuine person who is super enthusiastic about the size fetishes, and is bending over backwards to try to expand the real-world interaction between fans.
The big issue here are the methods and consequences of that real-word interaction. Nobody had any real issues when she started the NYC Size Meetups a year ago - it was a small affair, any like minded size fetishists were welcome to show up, etc. By all accounts, it was an overwhelming success. Nobody ever complained about it in these threads as far as I can remember.
The problems started arising with SizeCon. Plenty of people were simply opposed to the idea (I'd argue that most of the opposition was kinda dumb, but that's neither here nor there), but I wasn't immediately one of them. The issue was that the event was a joke. They went from simple little meetups in the park between a dozen or so people to wanting to organise a 100-200 people "convention" complete with a myriad of invited guests, panel discussions, interactive exhibits, etc, in only a few short months. They didn't properly canvas the community ahead of time, and so woefully underestimated interest. They held a fundraiser that was seemingly based on mathematics that literally didn't even make sense. They went a bit over the top with trying to inject internet-SJW-ish concepts into everything. And so on.
They wanted to create an event FOR the community. But they didn't even do the most basic canvasing OF the community ahead of time. And so, the community swatted the idea down. They squandered what good will they had built up over the last year. It's a shame, because it might have been an interesting event if they had just treated it as a slightly larger meet-up.
I think Jit's handling of SizeCon is worthy of the above criticism.
As for the "size dysphoria" stuff, it's just a bit too precious. Humans can't be 6 inches tall. Jitensha wasn't "born into the wrong body" in terms of not being a Barbie doll. Because that's not a thing that can happen. She just REALLY likes her fetish, and wants to include it in more and more of her personal life. Fine, whatever, each to their own.
The complaint is that she just keeps talking about it as if it's some settled thing, and seems to want to apply it around the "community". She wanted to hold some "living with size dysphoria" panel into SizeCon, for example. And given all the "anti-harassment" stuff they were throwing everywhere, you can bet that any discussions suggesting that size dysphoria isn't actually a real thing (because it isn't) would probably have been deemed "harassment". A lot of folks here were worried that this might be the start of some attempt to inject the size "community" with a lot of SJW terminology and practices ... just look at Jit's recent posts about feminism over on Giantess City. I think we do have some issues worth discussing in this arena, but this was a far cry from addressing it in any constructive manner.
And there are a few other bits and pieces we've discussed recently that probably aren't worth going into here.
Overall, he issue isn't that Jitensha is a "bad" person or anything of the sort. It's just that she's been saying/doing some dumb stuff lately. And it's dumb stuff on the "community" level.

>>6620540 it is consumer level. This will be the best VR system, most likely (steam has a chance but its probably gonna be more expensive).
you're seeing the price and saying "wow" but oculus is gonna be either the best or the second best out there. If you want cheap VR, sony and microsoft are releasing one's this year, gonna bet my ass its gonna be cheaper and worse than oculus's.
>>6624589 Perhaps. But I read the Reddit AMA by the Oculus Rift guy a few days ago that more-or-less backed up my argument. Rift isn't aimed at a general consumer base, it's aimed at PC enthusiasts. It's not just that the Rift is too expensive for the average user, it's that the PC hardware recommended is also too expensive.
They've making a niche, gimmicky piece of tech. And that's fine. It's just that the PR push has, for years, been that it's going to be average-consumer level. The PR push has been "it will cost around $350" for a while now. People aren't pissed because just because it's too expensive, they're pissed because it's roughly double the price it was advertised as.
So other VR units may be cheaper, but less "good". Ok, sure, standard affair. Maybe this will help prevent VR from a slow die off. But at the very least, the price of the Oculus has now primed the market. The cheaper models aren't going to be "cheap" - they're going to be expensive as they can get away with while trying to look cheaper than the competitors.
If VR is really going to be the future, it needs to get good circulation, and it needs non-gimmicky killer apps. Keeping it at a price point which actively hinders both of these seems ... questionable. Especially when they COULD sell the various components piecemeal. Offer just a basic model with the VR headset to get feet in the door, etc.
I was excited for the Oculus Rift. I wanted to get one of the DR2 kits, but kept holding off because news of the full version has been "around the corner" for months. And now, it's more expensive than a console. Guess I'll be waiting to see what the market does before I get one of these VR devices.
>>6624629 I think it's important to consider that the Oculus is among the first of its kind. At least, for the consumer market. This means it has one of the biggest responsibilities for a platform: its foundation.
Being among the first of its kind kinda has to be pricey else if it turns out VR doesn't work out, it still has what little money it made from the high price tag.
>>6624638 I don't mind the price in and of itself. It's the fact that they have been advertising for years that it was going to be a ~$350 unit, and that they were seeing it as some big revolution in mainstream gaming.
Then they announced that the price was going to be doubled.
It's that the announcement flies in the face of the earlier PR that everyone is so annoyed by. Not just because they WERE giving a ~$350 price tag earlier, but because it makes everyone more skeptical to buy in from the start. More expensive = less people wanting to throw down the cash = less support = less people thinking it's worth having, and so on. It has already had this effect on me - I was planning on buying one near launch, but now I'd prefer to hold off and wait to see what the market does, how the competitors compare, etc.
It just seems as though the "VR revolution" has started off on shaky legs. Which is a shame, because the unit might be fantastic!
>>6624644 The biggest reason why it's so expensive is because it's in a bundle. You get two games, an Xbone controller, and the sensor. You'd have to buy the games to use the thing anyway. The sudden price spike was a mistake, sure. They certainly could've done themselves a favor by easing people into it. However, the dev did say they wouldn't actually make any money on the thing if it was just the single headset. There weren't any other options for a profit than a bundle offer. This happens with consoles too, launch title bundles are a lot more expensive than just the console themselves. No doubt with time, like the nextgen consoles, when they offer just the headset by itself, it'll be a lot cheaper.
>>6624653 >The biggest reason why it's so expensive is because it's in a bundle. You get two games, an Xbone controller, and the sensor. You'd have to buy the games to use the thing anyway. Sure. My point in the earlier post was, why is the bundle the only option? You absolutely DON'T need the games to use the thing, there already exist a ton of different Oculus ready aps and games. The games are nice - and I'm sure most people would want them - but they're not an absolute requirement. Same thing with the Xbone controller - a significant portion of gamers already own one, why would they need another? (And surely it would make sense to have it backwards compatible with the xbox360 controller, which is even more widespread?)
Why isn't there an option to buy the components piecemeal? Just the headset and sensor should be enough for a fairly reasonable number of consumers.
>However, the dev did say they wouldn't actually make any money on the thing if it was just the single headset. There weren't any other options for a profit than a bundle offer. But this raises a MASSIVE red flag. The "VR revolution" can't make money unless it's given a somewhat price hike with, let's face it, optional accessories bundled together to artificially raise the profit margin? It doesn't inspire confidence.
If the essential parts of the product are not profitable, they simply need to hope they can keep their heads above water until they reach some critical mass (the product finally does become super popular; or they get far enough into the development cycle that manufacturing costs drop sufficiently).
>This happens with consoles too, launch title bundles are a lot more expensive than just the console themselves. Right. But they actually have a solid business model that supports this (eg. the games themselves cover the cost of the loses on the at-launch hardware). The Oculus Rift is basically hardware only; the hardware needs to be profitable ASAP.
>>6624653 >>6624675 I guess the point I'm making - trying to not be long winded this time - is that I'm skeptical of the prospects of their success if they're literally telling us that they can't make a profit unless they "gouge" (for lack of a fairer word) the consumer with non-essentials.
>>6624682 Well, I will give them this, oculus isn't focused on profit per se, they want 1 thing bigger and thats to personally make fucking sure VR sticks this time, thats its good. unfortunately, oculus has to make something so good that everyone wants one but cheap enough that at least a few million or so people can get it. That is some shitty ground to walk.
Honestly, it's really not fair to the man, i'd suggest he goes to college and get a business degree.
Past that though, I'm gonna get one, who else here is excited for some giantess oculus action soon?
>>6623372 Honesty, Princess Peach. There is material in the setting to facilitate her being smaller, bigger, and every measure inbetween, yet for some reason there has been no really stellar content about that.
Well since Fairy Tail's not gonna do anything useful with size content, might as well try making short stories to kill my frustration. Any potential thoughts on which character best as the giantess and shrunken person to work with?
>>6626851 >Brandish pretty much comfirmed to join fairy tail now >fairy tail members love to fight and tease each other >Lucy is always the buttend of all the jokes >Brandish already loved to shrink her allieds The manga will do nothing about it but it gave you the perfect scenario
Hey sizefags, I've recently been using thought up scenarios as material and I thought I could try making a story out of one of those scenarios for the fuck of it, because I've never tried it before.
>Female teacher who is a witch >Uses female students as toys >Manipulates memories so she doesn't get busted >Story would include all the good shit >Hard Vore, Alive Full Tour, Panty Entrapment, Shoe Entraptment, Unbirth, Anal Vore, Armpit, Bellybutton? >Themes would be split up "per day" inside the story
Those are just the very basics/a quick sum up, I already have a more thought out ground frame.
Would that be interesting for any of you, because I would rather not spend my time on writing this and then nobody gives a fuck.
>Brandish has an unbelievably powerful ability >she never uses it for bullshit reasons
I am really glad I don't follow that series. Apparently that sort of thing is pretty normal.
On the plus side, NnT goes from strength to strength. fuck knows where the anime will go up to in the manga, there's no good stopping point and it looks like the current arc won't be done before summer.
>>6626939 I guess having a female teacher who's a witch with her making students that piss her off punished in her certain ways may work.
Or would something like this be a possibility: >I wanted to think of like a girlfriend too suspicious of her sexy lover(who is a futa) that she decides to shrink herself ant-sized in order to know what's she's doing much to her dismay of finding out the lover is indeed planning to cheat on he with another sexy babe. Being angered at this without a second thought she made herself noticed in front of two giant women where it leads to be her greatest mistake.
>>6626939 The idea of an episodic format fits the idea, and we need more armpits/bellybuttons.
The main problem I have with the idea is that there's no motivation or personality mentioned for the teacher - I'd need either of those to really stick with it beyond a chapter or two, unless there's another gimmick.
If it's your first try, do a one-shot quickie and only include one or two forms of interaction. Continue it for later days if you like the results. In general, don't let focusing on "all the good shit" override your focus on "shit that I enjoy" or "shit that fits in the plot", and don't let quantity override quality. Remember, you're not writing for other people: you're writing for yourself, and you're writing what you'd like. If you're only writing so that other people to give a fuck, then writing more "mainstream" porn would get more attention. Don't let other people's desires or opinions get in the way of the story you want to tell.
Source: I've written micro-short things and the ones I'm the least proud of got the most attention and vice-versa
I feel like writing some bullshit but I can't decide between which premise so I figured I'd have you guys pick.
1. Post apocalyptic setting where a man made unfinished mutant strain gets accidentally released and kills most of the worlds population. Among the survivors is a few people who reacted to the strain like it was intended to, growing giant and becoming what was supposed to be super soldiers. Main character is a power hungry and sadistic woman whose abusing her new size to create and lead a large group of survivors. Story will mostly focus on her expanding her domain and fighting rival giants/giantess.
2. Typical fantasy setting that follows a tough amazon that gets captured by a not-roman empire and forced to fight in gladiator arenas and their wars. Amazon was blessed by her goddess at birth which causes her to grow significantly over the course of the story. Eventually she will get her revenge (or not?)
3. Another fantasy setting where a goddess inherits her mothers title as the Goddess of Love. To avoid having to marry another god as per customs she claims she's fallen in love with a mortal man. Her mom doesn't believe her so she forces her to prove it by casting her down to the world where she gets into wacky hi-jinks while trying to live among tiny humans. A lot more gentle than the other stories.
4. Set in an alternate world where people can grow to huge sizes. Most remain smaller than 50 feet while a few lucky ones grow to near giga sizes. The main character is actually a trap who gets a late massive growth spurt. The story follows him as he gets the attention of bigger women and turned into a boy toy that's passed around the rich.
Katelyn may be annoying as fuck, but he has a hot physique and she's not stupid enough to just outright kill you. She would make damn sure I stay alive for as long as possible to star as an actual shrunken guy in all her films.
>>6626946 Well, pretty much all of those are my fetish as well, so I wanted to include them anyway.
>>6626959 I was thinking more along the lines of a sadistic teacher who does it for the pleasure instead of anger, but I might start of with that and let her "discover" that she likes it, it might be worth a shot.
I'm totally not into futa, so no futa story from me, sorry.
>>6626964 As mentioned above, I personally like all the listed themes, so that is of no concern to me. I was more hinting at the issue that personally, just thinking of it on the spot is enough for me, but to write it all out I would like at least have some people be interested.
Like I said, it's just a "rough outline" for now, but as said above again, I would like to go for a sadistic/more playful personality, the motivation being to pleasure herself with the immorality of using her students.
I totally intend to do a oneshot first to guage interest in the story and my writing ability, but thank you for the feedback.
>>6627150 Going with option (B) Katelyn isn't too bad to deal with, and I can escape, so there's that as well. Unless she truly intends to go for the snuff angle, then I'm sort of screwed. Either way, if given the choice between the two, I couldn't ignore the temptation to have my fantasy fulfilled for real.
>>6623372 Mami, which was why I was really excited to see that Ochiko was making a game starring her, but its still not fucking translated. Even the game he made less than a week ago is translated, but not this one, and it sucks. (Also, is it just me, or is the loveisover archive really delayed lately?)
>>6627872 Welp. The gist is that for over 100 yen a month you can submit your own ideas for the mangas (Microne Magazine), have the protagonist be named after yourself (what) with a girl of your choosing etc., and get a pretty unreleased size picture from some irafyou VN. For over 500 yen a month you can submit entire storyboards for the mangas, see past storyboards /productions etc. of MMs, and submit a fucking VN concept, complete with voice acting and all.
I imagine none of this is "guranateed" as much as "we'll read your opinion and maybe consider it".
>>6627021 The impression I get from these kinds of stories is that we're not supposed to fap to them, we're just supposed to...appreciate them, even though they're fetish stories? This is a trend among giantess writers, and I don't get it. If you're writing a fetish story, no one cares if it's interesting and full of lore. The only reason people go on giantessworld is to fap.
>I wasn't aware that the silver haired woman from Mimosa had a growth scene.
It's literally how the game ends, there was never a CG before from Junny, hence what they're obviously teasing as part of the Patreon.
The last scene of Mimosa is Shinji on train home from the countryside, having not been given the "shrink antidote", but rather having a growth formula administered to him. But then Lucia ends up stalking them and trying to interfere and Haru trips and douses her with the growth liquid and the game ends as she outgrows the train and her clothes with Shinji and co running away
>>6627919 The plots aren't there for lore or anything they're there to help establish the characters. Personally, I get more out of erotica when the characters have some depth and motivations rather than being sex bots, it actually makes it hotter to me. I understand though that not everyone agrees so I'm not going to write multiple chapters or anything with no action happening or drag you through shit you don't care about.
I gave the poll a day to go and 4 ended up winning which was going to be the most sexual one of them anyways.
>>6628133 >The plots aren't there for lore or anything they're there to help establish the characters. Personally, I get more out of erotica when the characters have some depth and motivations rather than being sex bots, it actually makes it hotter to me. Same for me, which is why I always prefer shit that uses pre-existing characters as a base.. The plot/characters are already established so you don't have to waste time going through shit that no one actually cares about.
