There is an unwritten rule not to use western names in the captions.
You don't have to go as far as to find out what the character in your picture is actually called (unless you are using something that blatantly popular and recognizable like the girls from sailor moon, characters from Pokemon, etc) but try to avoid stuff that insta-kills suspension of disbelief.

If you're using Photoshop, try right clicking your text layer and going into blending options, then adding Stroke. It'll add a little border around the text that makes it a lot easier to read when it's on top of the image like that.
