So a bit off-topic from the current subject, but in your guys' experiences, how common is asexuality in the community?

I ask because I myself am asexual man and I've been pretty down about it as of late. I really want a relationship, but I know that my psychological inability to have (much less want) intercourse is going to get in the way. Here's some good resources for rope bondage: http://www.twistedmonk.com/ has a store, and much more importantly some instructional videos for simpler ties. The short answer is that some people enjoy spending time adopting a child like persona. Usually with the dominant partner being a responsible adult. Reasons why differ from person to person, but from what I've seen it's often for a lot of the same reasons people like BDSM in general.

I've never seen littles who could ever be mistaken for a child, even when trying their hardest. Some college kids can pass as teenagers, but even then you shouldn't be mistaking them for little kids. That said, there are some people out there who do look like they're 10 years old even when they're 18 (I knew three such girls in high school), but they're rare and I've never seen any littles pics with people who look like that. It is inadvisable to try to make a domme. Making a sub is a lot lot lot easier. My advice would be to go to munches in your spare time, get to know your BDSM community longer, occasionally suggest brining toys into the bedroom, and so on. If you've not, try talking to your girlfreind about some of these ideas, not all at once, slowly test the waters. From what I've seen and heard a lot of people are perfectly fine with some of these things, but maybe are scared off because of the stereotypical portrayal of it.
If she's wiling to try, then plan some things out with each other and start of small. If she really doesn't want to do it, then you need to decide if you need it as part of your relationship and where to go from there.

I always figured that it would be the opposite. That a person who is not at all into BDSM would be very unwilling to subject themselves to the pain, humiliation, and helplessness inherent in sub roles, and that if they did they wouldn't be able to stand it for very long. In contrast, a purely vanilla person would probably be willing to assume a dominant role once they get past the weirdness, although whether they'll be any good at it is another question.

If people - after the idea has been introduced - aren't into kink then they aren't into it. I feel really uncomfortable with kinksters who try to turn their partner into whatever would satisfy their needs.

That said, this sometimes works out if you're a service oriented sub. If it gives you joy and satisfaction to do things for her, unasked, just for the enjoyment of knowing you're serving her, then you can do that. Cook her a lovely meal, offer her a foot rub, draw a bath for her and provide wine/candles etc, or sit next to the bath and wash her hair for her.
