I missed the fall out and am I need of some answers. So mods deleted threads that they deem "low quality" (which is subjective), having text, people discussing /d/ related fetishes, or people working together to make something /d/ related. Are we expected to only post images and not talk now? Long image dumps and just that seem incredibly boring.

Almost everybody who's interested in the topic already knows the general idea of what's going on, but the OP of a meta thread is better served recapping what little discussion there is rather than explicitly taking one side or the other.

In the past week, several thread subjects, including the /d/ caption thread, the NSFW CYOA general, the Weekend Smut thread/Erotic Fiction general, and the /d/ voice thread, have been deleted, as well as sister threads on /aco/. This is a departure from previous moderator behavior, and comes with no direct notification of any sort.

The mods and their supporters have since justified themselves with several arguments, primarily:
>The banned content is by low quality, whether by definition or in high enough proportion to not allow it at all.
>The content is against existing /d/ rules, and enforcing defunct rules requires no notification.
>They are off-topic for /d/, and are better served on another board

Those in opposition have made counterpoints, including:
>Captions, CYOAs, stories, and voice quotes are not fundamentally worse quality than any other erotic media, and should not be judged solely by their worst examples.
>These media have been consistently allowed on /d/ for several months, and any radical shift in the enforcement of rules deserves some official announcement
>The only other boards that can accommodate these topics are /b/ and /trash/, which are not suitable long-term homes for many reasons including posting speed, forced anonimity, poor board culture or undesired topics of discussion, and general obscurity.

Please try to limit the shitposting somewhat; legitimate discussion is much more productive.
