Honestly I agree, the whole Human vs Metahuman conflict felt incredibly undermined since 99% of the latter get killed off(and made Captain Marvel's sacrifice feel pointless since it probably didn't really have any real effect on who died or not), so any resolution of that feels very half-assed(after all its not that hard to resolve said issues if one side has been almost completely wiped out)

Action Comics was the first comic that ever outsold everything else. At one point, one of the Fawcett titles took that, but only for a short while (so Anon's 'once upon a time' wasn't even a solid year).

Captain Marvel is also a kid's wish fullfilment fantasy that appeals to little kids. It's like saying Finding Dory is the best film of this year because it made more money than any other movie, without acknowledging that much of that money was repeat business driven by kids (and their taste, notwithstanding that Pixar makes, at minimum, decent movies).
