Rate the finale
The exposition opening the episode: Bad
The montage: Bad
The Bill and Ford bit: Good
The Monster Fight: Good
Stan arguing with Ford to move the plot: Terrible, Stan has shown to be selfless countless time for his family even if he's a selfish person at heart
Bill Chasing the kids: Good
Stan sacrificing himself: Fantastic
Stan being allowed a happy ending after causing the original solution to fail: Dreadful
Everything up until the goodbyes: Cringe
The Goodbyes: Fantastic
I'll miss the show but if this is what they had to show for a finale then I'd rather it end now.
GFG draw room, the usual one.
This is the last time we'll be using it!

>Shmebulok signed Dipper's letter
WHAT A LOAD OF SHMEBULOK
It was an absolute 11 out of 10 until Stan got all his memories back, but that led up to Stan O War 2 (which I fucking called) and Soos taking over the Shack with Melody.
Got teary eyed af from the waddles goodbye till Stan goodbye.
It was good guys. It was a great ride.

Montage was fine.
Stan arguing with Ford is arguable. Everything else is on spot
The worst fucking offender is the fact that in the giant scheme of things, wheel was fucking useless.
>Even Disney wasn't safe from Hirsch's twisted vision.
>"One time we yelled 'cut' and Alex turned to us and said 'what if someone just stood in the middle of the Mystery Shack and yelled cut? Maybe Stan would forget his routine of scamming brain dead tourists.' Our jaws hit the floor and they never really came back up. That's when we thought, is he getting in character to play Bill Cipher, or is Bill Cipher something that's been in him all along?"
>"Sometimes we would go to look at the storyboards, and we noticed Alex had put something in the boards. It was stuff like 'What if storyboards were tweets? Would you block a kid?' and 'Lights. Camera. Where's your cartoon?' We had to cancel the show because we were getting too scared to produce it."

>TEN SYMBOLS PLACED AROUND A WHEEL
> HAND IN HAND THEY'LL BOND THE SEAL
> BUT BREAK THE CHAIN AND PAY THE COST
> THE PROPHECY WILL ALL BE LOST
What was the point of putting that in a card when we literally see it happen 10 seconds later?
>Stan being allowed a happy ending after causing the original solution to fail: Dreadful
I'm on the fence about it, because Stan gave up so much over and over again just to bring his brother back.
There was almost no way there wasn't going to be a snafu between Ford and Stan. At least this way everyone was able to appreciate what Stan was willing to put on the line.
Hey I'm gonna miss all you fuckers.
Remember when Double Dipper aired? Remember S1 finale and we were all pissed because we had to wait one year? Remember when Alex tired to fool us? Remember when we used to spam Pincest? Remember Giffany? Remember when we got the Gender Swapped Robbie? Remember when Candip and Wendip got BTFO during NWM? Remember the shitstorm during Not what he seems?
I'm actually sad and happy.
Goodbye you wonderful motherfuckers it was fun
At least the cops were male so that means Tumblr won't give a fuck
Some really good action and pretty good feels towards the end, but the majority of the actual PLOT was driven forward by contrivance and bullshit, the major sacrifice that saved the day is COMPLETELY devalued and made a joke.
The best parts of the episode were small visual references and callbacks.
Also, and I tried my best not to reflect this in my grade because >muh shipping, if I had it would probably be a 4 or 3
>Pacifica gets like, 5 lines total
>Out of those, 3 are dedicated to demolishing her development from NWMM
>Doesn't get to have any meaningful final interaction with Dipper or Mabel, doesn't even get to have her signature on the letter
I can fucking SMELL the spite of that Manlet hack all over this
>"NOOOO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LIKE PACIFICA! SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE A BIT-PART VILLAIN AND NOTHING MORE!"
You better believe I mad.
Not trying to be an ironic shitposter, just saying that it was chock full of the things you see in most finales for action/mystery series. It was all the cadences you can expect from one.
I expected a lot weirder. I also wanted more Mabel/Dipper stuff rather than them just getting along and helping save the day.
>finale was the worst episode
>not roadside attraction
7/10 it's ok
Underwhelmed by Bill
Stan going full retard was ridiculous
"Nah" to Stan's fakeout sacrifice
Sad to see Pacifica return to her old personality. I was hoping to see her reaction to the "only 1 pony" comment being apathetic, but instead she went full princess with that reaction.
Also absolutely no Padipica was a real gyp. I know you're a hack in real life Alex, but at least your characters don't have to be.
The teeth spit him out as he was being sucked away.
You fucking Shmebulok.
You know who'll bring back Gravity Falls.....
Bingo card final result: no bingo but still pretty good.
Anything I missed?
Up to Bill's defeat 7/10
Post Bill's defeat 9/10
Final scene 11/10
Somewhat disappointed, but it was still one of the better episodes of 2B.
I'm going to miss you, /gfg/.
Feel real fucking bad man, Disney marketing team confirmed for complete retards.

Whatever. I'm off to marathon Sono Kuroki Hagane now.
no that was shit
what saved the finale was
hatswap hatswap hatswap
Cliched writing. The narrative never acknowledged what a dick Ford was. Wrecking Stan's character, who always stepped up when it came to family even if he was selfish at heart, to cause contrived conflict, somewhat anticlimactic ending to the danger.
The only part I truly enjoyed was the happy end because it was all sweet. The rest of the episode was disappointingly lame. Even with all that, they never got back the "wow" factor of NWHS.
It's interesting how California used to be where adventures would happen in America, where people would go to get away from the regular life of other parts of the country, but nowadays it has become so developed it is considered synonymous with "home." I know Alex is from Piedmont, but nevertheless, if Gravity Falls aired 100 years ago, the Pines would likely be returning home to the East after a summer of adventure in California.
Lots of convenient moments:
The throne being destroyed with one person pulled.
The humans turned back from stone because the throne was destroyed.
The "prophecy" where half the symbols were just people who fit the description.
Bill having like five different ways to defeat him, including what ultimately worked, which doesn't make much sense since Bill could have shot out of his mind couldn't he?
But hell, I liked it. A fitting end to a great show. And I can't believe I predicted the hat swap.
I give it a 10/10. Honestly, I had a rollercoaster of emotions during that episode. Thanks Alex.
>No Bill ending or cliffhanger
>Deus ex machinas
>Blendin didn't return
>Felt so rushed
>Wheel was useless
>Should have ended with Ocean Man
Bill is still alive and trapped in that stone effigy of himself/10. But really? Maybe an 8. Pretty enjoyable.
The big dumb mecha fight was better than I expected, and the friendship circle aspect of the Wheel wasn't overplayed. Dipper's motivational friendship speech happened after the crisis passed, thank fuck.
It was nice to see a lot of fan predictions pay off (Bill's eye as his weak point, the memory gun as the means of his defeat, etc.). Sure, the resolution between Stan and Ford was shallow, and I would have liked more of Dipper and Mabel and less of the townspeople, but the writers did the best they could with the runtime they had.
A lot of the exposition scenes felt phoned in, especially the cold open. Stan regaining his memories nigh-instantly was disappointing. Although I'm pleased Mabel and Dipper can return to the town and the weirdness wasn't erased from it, the fact that everything was restored to exactly how it was before felt like just a little too much.
Blame this show's horrid scheduling. GF would've been a nice, if mediocre, two-seasons-long cartoon had it all aired within the span of one and a half year, not four.
The Venture Bros. is worth waiting months just to watch an episode. Gravity Falls? Nah.
They didn't reveal shit about his name. I was expecting a visual cue or something, fucking ANYTHING. A bus pass that shows his name, getting off the bus to california and his parents welcoming them home using his real name, fucking anything. But they gave us zero.
Why did they have to erase ALL of Stan's mind? Couldn't they have just typed BILL into the gun and blasted him out?
Where were their parents? I assumed they'd step off the bus when Mabel mentioned them. What's Dipper's name? Why was everybody acting like it was impossible for Dipper and Mabel to return next summer except for after Dipper read Wendy's card?
Some nice touching parts in the end. Nothing too unfunny. Nice action. Nice subversion to the power of friendship wheel thing but still... didn't feel very finale-ish because of all the shit they set up and/or hinted at and didn't resolve.
I'm too much of a softie for this shit.
I kinda like that the wheel didn't end up being the fix it button we were guessing it would be from day one
Anyone else think it's weird a tax commercial is playing on Disney XD during a series finale for children?
Also the voice sounded a lot like Bill Cipher
So that was HOW many scrapped god damn plotlines? Especially the fucking Stan - Bill connection thing, Hirsch goes out of the way to push similarities between the two and repeated lines, and then goes out of the way to make sure that they never meet face to face and then.... NOTHING. FUCKING NOTHING.
Fuck, the fingers on all my hands aren't enough to count all the shit he gave up on, he fucking GAVE UP after 2A, just completely gave up.
The pinnacle of the series was NWHS, it should have ended there or I would have been willing to wait another five years for an actual good ending but this was nothing that I wanted.
Scrapped plots, no build up, no actual SUSPENSE, final battle was the epitome of anticlimax, what the fuck is this monster of the week? Fuck, if you compare this to NWHS or DAMVTF it looks run of the mill as shit. People being stupid for the sake of the episode instead of building on shit already there, a "sacrifice" that wasn't actually anything, I could go on for hours about how much of a shitty ending that was.
WHY DIDNT GIFFANY COME BACK
Also fuck you can really tell they dropped a shit load of plotlines with that lackluster wheel reveal.
>some symbols are literal
>other's are metaphorical for no reason
>Pacifica wearing the llama sweater is pure coincidence and arbitrary and it's connection to the llama painting is completely unexplained
Just like Alex lied about everything else, dont expect his saying that "Gravity Falls is a story about a single summer" to hold any truth. The ending leaves a lot of room for a third season, even going back to near perfect status quo to make next year's summer follow an identical format.
As soon as Alex's Fox venture tanks he'll run back to Disney. Screencap this.
It's not amazing but is good, and gets better + comes to have a real plot after beginning with mostly episodic one-offs. Maintains continuity even early on though. Personally I'd give the first season a 7.5 or 8/10, with some episodes worse than that and some better. The season finale in particular was pretty strong and not what the first episode leads you to believe the show will do.
I think season 2 will be better than the first because the crew keeps saying it was mainly "setup," and the season indeed ended with ~3 plots still left hanging.
Tis a rollicking good ride and I enjoyed the fellow fans...abit
Sadly, it was swatted down before it real potential could be shown because Alex desided to bloody quit since we OVER annualized his clues and disney wouldn't give him that raise (most likely) and sadly we won't see another show like it in our life times..
>Next, Star vs..
It was good
And it was the first episode of the show I saw
So this is it huh? It's finally done. I'll miss it
I'll miss you faggots too
See you next summer
>The prophecy is the only way to destroy Bill
>Failed to do it. They defeated him in another matter
Bet the circle spell was absolutely necessary and this will bite them back in the ass in the future.
I want an archive of the live-airing sticky.
I want it to go into my Gravity Falls folder.
Was ok. Was expecting everything going status quo as its disney, and was fun to watch and had a "epic" feel.
People are being buttfrazzled due to their ships and pet theories not working out. 8/10
THINGS THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN
bar homosexual law enforcers
>A MEANINGFUL SACRIFICE
>USE OF COPYING MACHINE/CARPET/DIPCLONES 3 + 4/OTHER SHIT
>RED HERRINGS/PLOT TWISTS
One of the gnomes got eaten.
By the same merit, "open ending" is pretty debatable. Other only thing left open was where Stan and Ford went, but even that was just an excuse to close up an earlier plotline.
Stan sacrifices himself, but it's resolved in less than 2 minutes.
No consequences, literally everybody gets a happy ending. Waddles gets to go home.
"The Zodiac," a symbol that's been present throughout the entire series, is explained in depth, and then turns out to be entirely pointless.
Time baby, president's key, those government guys, where Ford spent 30 years in between dimensions, how and why Gideon had the journals, and tons of other plot holes are left unresolved.
Dipper's name wasn't revealed.
We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away
So long /gfg/... it's been a crazy, amazing, beautiful ride.
you meant the thread you don't pay attention to at all if you're actually watching the episode and not caught up in drama bullshit?
Funny i'm the exact opposite in that as much as the wheel fixing it is bullshit, i find going for a sacrifice ending to just undo it is actually more irritating than a magic macguffin happy fix spell wheel solving everything
So apparently that last shot in the credits with the Bill statue.
Yeah so, if you stop it there is a thing that reads "The real mystery still has to be found."
So I guess they actually made a Bill statue and burried it in Oregon.
>YFW NO MORE /gfg/
also who won that disney infinity poll that had Mabel and Darkwing Duck in it?
>No God-on-God showdown
>No Blendin-ex machina
Why even bother?
It was fun while it lasted. All four years.
Thanks for the good and the bad, everyone.
See you in another cartoon. Another thread, somewhere, someday.
I'll miss everything
So, roughly how many times will Dipper jack off while sniffing Wendy's hat before it loses its divine lumberjane aroma?
The actual episode itself was 7/10. Seemed pretty cliche, there were several plot holes, and Stan was massively OOC at times.
Everything after Bill was defeated was 10/10 though. So many feels.
Didn't have expectations super elevated since you know It's a post 2000's american kid cartoon but still managed to satisfactory end it in a high note with some feelings which won't make it forgettable for some people who were invested in it.
WE WON! WE FUCKING WON! FUCK YOU!
HE LEFT WITH BEST GIRL!
The hatswap made the episode, goodbye all you faggots! It was fun while it lasted
>deleted from my 'watch this' reminder notepad document
sighing pretty hard here guys
i wonder how i would feel if hat swap hadn't happened like i wanted so badly. did I even come up with that independently? It's been so long I don't remember. I think I did.
HOLD ON A FUCKING SECOND
Bill's song: oh I'll know we'll meet again some sunny day
in memories the pines still play
on a sunny summer's day
Welp, I've got an empty feeling in my chest.
Despite all the wasted potential I'll miss it
>Tfw the only supernatural animated thing left on Disney XD is Yokai watch
I give the episode a 6.9/10
They're biracial middle-aged white guys without conventional beauty, so ... honestly Tumblr might hate them.
They only champion pretty white 20-something gay men. It's insane.
Welp, I guess that's that. I suppose it's my own fault for hyping myself up for the finale. I had unrealistic expectations going in and was disappointed when it was as formulaic and obvious as I probably could have predicted.
But it was a good show while it lasted, even if they couldn't quite stick the landing.
4/10 or 5/10
Not shitposting either.
Utterly mediocre in every way.
I did get slightly teary eyed but that's just because of totally standard end of series sad music and shit that happens at the end of anything.>>79919818
Pfffft, we all knew it was a long shot anyways haha. At least Pacifica got some lines, right haha. It's no biggie lol.
>Dipper's real name NEVER
what the fuck
Disappointed that there wasn't any scenes of Dipper in his underwear throughout the whole series, but I liked it.
Soos fucking erased her from existence
Eh. Not really. As you say, there was precedent for erased memories being recoverable thanks to Fiddleford regaining his memories post-SotBE.
But on the other hand, McGucket was just erasing select recollections rather than his entire psyche. Stan's instant recovery from something so extreme was painfully thin plot convenience.
>Candy also signed her name with a heart
>Candy had the hots for dipper in Tourist Trap
I guess this is a "Let the fan fictions decide, I don't fuckin' care" situation.
If you look at it, the only shippers who really got BTFO were Wendip
I mean, I guess you can't TECHNICALLY call characters acting completely retarded and out of character just to further the plot a "plot-hole" as such, so I'd say this is pretty accurate.
Was a rollercoaster, one of the ones that's fun but has those humps that destroy your nuts if the bar's too low. Some shit and some amazing.
Was alright in general, began and ended well, just some shittiness in the middle. Shouldn't have crammed it all into one episode, for sure.
Pic somewhat related.
of course it has plotholes and shit and a lot of stuff but it was touching, had great action, a nice resolve, works very well with the rest of the show. i am satisfied, it could have been more but it´s enough.
>They're biracial middle-aged white guys
Anyway I just checked the Gravity Falls tag and this is the first post I saw
>SHERIFF BLUBS X DEPUTY DURLAND IS CANNON
>YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS MY OTP!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
Congrats, y'all are Tumblr approved
Fuck man... I wasn't prepared for feels of this magnitude
>no more Homestar for another 2-3 years
ffs we just got Homestar back
It would probably be a lot funnier, but I doubt Alex would be back to voice when he has a FOX channel
Well I guess that's that. Still have the last few codes to decipher though.
>entire episode is being spoiled for me while I wait for the download link
I don't know why I do this to myself.
Literally picked this show up 2 days ago and it wasn't disappointing.
Shit man, if only there was a clip of that I could stick on loop.
>there will never be another episode of gravity falls
Can someone say the full translation, like is it read as a story, a poem?
First Genndy Tartakowsky and Craig McCracken breaking off their friendship over Lauren, and now Hirsch. She must possess some really strong power. Literally every man that meets her personally cannot bring himself to think of anything anymore.
I liked it. It felt rushed as fuck though
I give it a 8/10 overall but that ending was a 10/10. Ended perfectly and it felt like Persona 4 Ending. I can tell Disney wanted more but Alex said fuck that I need a vacation
You didn't have unrealistic expectations. This is a show that has numerous callbacks, hidden ciphers, and hinted at a fuckhuge mythology. And this is all for a comedic kids' show that hasn't handled this sort of stuff before.
I loved this show, but one could argue that it didn't live up to what it hyped itself to be.
>Blubs, Durland and FUCKING SHMEBULOK sign Stan's Letter
>No Toby "Crazy T" Determined
SOMEONE REPLY TO MY THREAD WHEN THERE IS A LINK AVAILABLE
THANK YOU SO MUCH
>Gravity Falls gets a spin-off/third season without Alex
>Turns out it's way better
This is happening and you all know it.
Can't wait for that day.
SELF BUMP DONT CARE
I don't think it was the greatest finale ever, but I'm not going to lie, I teared up a bit at the bus stop scene. It was a good sendoff, even if the road to it was a little rocky.
>dipper saying into the unknown
not quite true, they prioritize first things that let them play victim/oppressed, then things that let them feel being pandered to.
So by being 2 confirmed gay dudes in a childrens cartoon it falls under situation 2, they won't be paraded around like Korra was, but it'll get a bit of self ego sucking.
That entire memory recollection of stan's was a real fucking let down in only 5 minutes. I really thought that if he remembers himself, then he must remember Bill too, and therefore he still exists.
I even thought that was going to be the case when Ford pulled him aside during the party and said there was a problem. Still disappointed.
The show is over. Now what?
Seriously though, you will be missed.
Grenda in a two piece swimsuit. Finally, I guess?. Was anyone actually waiting for this?
You see /gfg/
The thing is
Shows suddenly ending is what's best for business
3 days ago, I came here for the hype of the finale.
It felt like 4 years of me spending time with you guys. I WILL MISS YOU ALL....
I don't understand this. You say it's a 10/10. It's perfect? But then you listen reasons why its not?
Never trust the 10/10s always trust the 9s well, a range of 3-9.
In fact only trust numbers 2,3,6 and 9.
A 1 is always bias
A 4 or 5 is a lack of a real opinion
A 7 or an 8 is almost ok but some sort of personal issue that is really on the reviewer rather than what is being presented
A 10 is again, bias bullshit.
>Wendy's handwriting is feminine
>Gideon doesn't leave a creepy note for Mabel
Can't this hacklet get his own characters right?
>mfw the power of friendship didn't win
The power of sibling rivalry got in the way
>show I like ends
