Yep. Every iteration of her is completely different as a person, because the initial Jean was a non-entity, so what else are you to do? The only consistency between any version of Jean is that she's the worst part of the comic, cartoon, film, etc. that she's in. She serves only as a plot device, be it a love triangle centerpiece, an equally personality-devoid alter ego, or as self-insert wanking. So she's boring, but the worst part of her character is that she's destined, no matter what, to be used in a cheap attempt at tragedy - we're always, always forced to feel sorry that Jean disappears - but the fact that Jean is mostly absent makes it clear that the writer's real motivations were to get rid of her, because they realize, after a certain point, that she's completely useless. Anything she can do either Charles or Magneto can do, and as a team member she serves only as a mix between Cyclops and Professor X. She is literally thin air.
Not anouther bitchfest thread.
Someone start backing these gripes up with at least some sort of argument.
i.e: The Scarlett Witch has always been inconsistantly powerful, crazy, or reliable. Writers use her as a sweeping god-level solution to any problem or as a problem of variable threat level, a threat always forgotten whenever she can wrap up a story conveniently. All depending upon the writer's mood.
She makes bad stories happen by virtue of her very existence. -THUS: worst comic book character.
But that same argument can be made against half the X-Men.
Do you feel the same way about Psylocke?
>supposed to be obligatory
Not that guy, but why wouldn't you? For the longest time she served no purpose other than to fulfill some weird Jim Lee fetish. The only reason anyone knows who Psylocke is is because they wanted to jack it to her
Kitty Pryde's broodlings would be half jewish
She aborts said broodlings = vaginal shoah
There can be only one true Ms.Marvel, tumblr.
I genuinely laughed a big fat greasy laugh at your post though.
>Meant to be relatable
>Is now a web slinging billionaire who can climb walls
>people posting individual xmen
It's just the xmen in their entirety, the only Acceptable ones are Rouge and Nightcrawler
>A web slinging billionaire who can climb walls isn't relatable
>Being able to climb to walls and smart enough to build a web-slinging machine isn't the problem, it's that he has money now
>buying the 'he was meant to relatable meme
he was introduced a kid genius who concoted a web formula we still can't replicate in the real world four decades later. he got the body of an adonis and once he got out of highschool there was no end to the number of super hot women lusting after him. He quickly became good friends with some of the most powerful people on the planet, including the Fantastic Four and a certain Dr Strange, who he frequently visits for help or advice. He's had multiple billionaires take a mentor role towards him. He's come back from the dead multiple times, and so has his geriatric aunt. He spent several years living in one of the most expensive buildings in New York (Avengers Tower)
He was never relatable. Even his more grounded problems were too ridiculous to happen to a normal person,
They've started turning her into an anti-hero.
Which is kind of baffling, at least to me, since I had assumed that she was created to be a sort of villainous fill in for the now entirely anti-heroic Harley Quinn.
Ditched the mask, at least.
Sometimes I wonder if someone should make a truly relatable superhero. I know Marvel in particular tried with Spider-Man, Ben Grimm, the Hulk, etc. but they're a bit too extraordinary to be truly relatable.
What if someone made a hero who was *actually* a loser? Had no friends well into adulthood, was still a virgin or at least had only had sex once or twice into their mid-20s at least, still lived at home and was either a NEET or working a shitty fast food job they didn't get any hours for, was super unpopular with people, had a ton of mental problems, etc. Basically the complete opposite of the sort that people think of when they think of a superhero. And not this halfway shit with characters like Spider-Man, where he basically stops being relatable after high school, but someone you really wouldn't want to be. Maybe they even loser a majority of their fights against supervillains and other heroes have to save the day or something.
>someone you really wouldn't want to be
for a character to be relatable, don't they need to be at least somewhat sympathetic? If a character is too pathetic people hate them, no matter how humanly they react to things.
I guess. I mean, in fairness, what someone finds "relatable," might not be what someone else finds to be the same.
Of course they'd have to have some positive qualities. I was just thinking about it myself. Maybe they could have decent social skills in some situations or be clever every once in a while.
Carnage is 90s incarnate and awesome
Joker is just overwritten
Bullseye is hilariously 90s as well
Purple Man is great in all his older stories
What I'm saying is that you should end yourself you underaged netflix-worshipping newfag
Wow I should've explained more. I forgot 4chan hatred of jews. I hate Kitty Pryde because not only Bendis replaced Star Lord but he ruined GotG. Whenever Bendis writes a story he usually forces Kitty Pryde in there. She is also boring flat character with a personality of a gased jew.
>If you have to explain your Holocaust joke, then it's not funny.
It's not that he has to explain it more likely because you can't understand a simple joke. Maybe you didn't get that last sentence since it's so complicated to you so let me explain.
From reading his post and yours it looks like if he was trying to explain the orange knock knock joke to you.
Is co retarded? Just because Bendis butchered Jean doesn't mean she sucks. Bendis butchers a lot of characters for his "story". Its bullshit but it's not the characters fault.
Jean is honestly suffers from the Wonder Woman treatment imo. Great Writers make her great but shit writers make her complete shit.
Case in point WW when written by Perez or Rucka then WW written by the fucking Finches. Either she is great or she is some mansplaining Feminazi filth.
Honestly hate the writer not the fucking Character. I don't call Spidey the worst character when he sold his marriage to the devil. That's Quesada's fault.
>hating Wally for being a conservative
>Wally was a jerk before DC made him black
