He hasn't. In his mind DKR was a Batman story so he set up Superman as an antagonist. If you actually read the text closely and also the plot draft in the back of the TPB, you'd see that Miller did try to give Superman a fair shake.

If someone reads DKR and can only think, "Superman is government stooge, Batman beats Superman" then they really, really didn't get the book. I don't care if they claim to be a fan or a hater of DKR, if that's all they got then DK2 is the book they really want.

Bendis has gone on the record as hating Carnage and "killed him" in his Avengers run.

He was pressured into creating the Ultimate version by fan demand though he felt he had an interesting story for a carnage version.

Interestingly, he also hated Venom, and was also pressured into making an ultimate venom by fan demand. His Venom version is pretty far removed from the regular universes venom (at the time). 10+ years later, he now has made huge changes to Venom to make him something he doesn't deplore.

IMO Millar doesn't hate superman, it's just that Dark Knight Returns is a deconstruction, and All Star was a prequel. So Superman is more or less a lawful stupid tool, but Bats himself is sadistic, has an enormous inferiority complex around people with powers, and shouldn't be let anywhere near little boys.
