Why is it okay for a fourteen year old to date an 12 year old? Does Chris Hansen not exist in this universe?
For 18 and under, yes. Two years can mean the difference between sex and statutory rape in the US. A 13 year old dating an eleven year old means a high schooler dating a middle schooler.
Amerifat here, I don't think it's really that big of a deal. Connie is almost 13, and Steven was 13 when they met. IRL it might raise a couple of eyebrows but they've been dating for a while, people would understand and they probably wouldn't get a lot of criticism. It's kind of like when a 16 year old hooks up with a 14 year old IRL and they go steady, and the older one is no longer a minor by a good two year/year and a half margin. Technically illegal and frowned upon, but they've been together for a while and the age gap used to be a lot less big of a deal. Like how a 15 year old and a 20 year old hooking up would be strange and probably end with someone in jail, but a 20 year and 25 year is a lot less so even tho it's the same 5 year gap. Also, in the show itself, Steven has physically been a 12 year old since he was 8 and Connie is probably going to age without him.
What I find funny is that when Steven fakes aging up a little, Connie is suddenly x10 more into him.
>mfw I'm an 18 year old dating a geeky 21 year old who's super kinky
Well I'm a 21 year old who's super kinky dating an 18 year old so its not that far fetched
I've just realised. When Americans say "date", they mean "fuck". All those films I saw weren't saying what I thought they said. I'm sad about this.
America is so hypocritical. Everything is sex and they are obsessed with children's private parts even if they don't want to have sex with them.
>yfw Azula, Daria, Ginger, and Steven are all around the same age
Of course, I'm dating a girl 7 years younger than me. She comes from a broken home and tried to kill herself when she couldnt get into college, and never had a boyfriend or had sex before. I gave her a purpose for living again
Same as it ever was

2 year difference really isn't that big of a deal. 18 dating 16 is fine; 24 dating 22 is almost the norm.
It gets creept if it's some shit like a 19 year old kissing a 13 year old
like in Homestuck, but SU really doesn't go anywhere near that.
It becomes less awkward the older each are. Say your parents are 35 and 40; that's not weird, but if they were dating since one was 15, that means they were in high school while the other was 10 and in elementary school.
I can't find my Carlos picture. Just imagine this was a joke between pic related.
Oh right. Either way, both parties in that kiss are from a race where lifespan is exponentially different between castes, incest is a foreign concept, and both were sentient preservations of memories of the deceased. Hardly a normal enough scenario for the age gap to be worth mentioning.
I would love steven universe if Steven got a better character design.
Steven stick out like a sore thumb. A young Greg fits more into steven universe than steven universe.
1. Connie is only a year-and-change younger than Steven
2. If anything, Connie's "older" than Steven, emotional
3. all creepy pedo-excuses aside, they're not really "dating," anyway. Despite the fact that they probably have some romantic feelings for eachother, they're best friends first and foremost.
Exactly, it gets less weird the older both parties are, even if the age gap stays the same. At that point, both are still technically teenagers and age aside the main difference is that your friend can legally vote, smoke, or buy a gun. If he was 13 and she was 10, however, there'd be a much larger gap in both their physical and mental development.
>When Americans say "date", they mean "fuck"
Daria is a couple years older than them when the show started since she was already in high school in Beavis and Butthead.
Quinn is the exact same age as those characters though.
Here is your opinion star.
All of the gems got cool designs except for steven.
Steven doesn't stand out and look like a side-kick in the series.
>Steven stick out like a sore thumb.
>Steven doesn't stand out and looks like a side-kick in the series.
Which is it?
I think his design is strong. The round, soft, cuddly shapes make his personality clear, and the red shirt with the star on it draws your eye in group shots with the Gems.
>Also, in the show itself, Steven has physically been a 12 year old since he was 8
>Not Steven has physically been an 8 year old until 14
Wow, that definitely is the glass is half full/half empty argument
