This is a thread for the new Powerpuff Girls trailer. It appears that the girls now have lantern powers assuming it's not a one episode thing and a bunch of new monsters were shown. Mojo's in it.
No because there's no way libtards will be able to inject their political narrative into it like the new PPG. What are they going to do, make Jack get oppressed by a bunch of racist white men while he tells them to check their privileged?
>It's weird how Jack's race was never brought up.
It's a dystopian future where aliens, mutants, and robots are everywhere and in the cities multiculturalism is rampant (so long as everyone serves/obeys Aku at the end of the day). I can't imagine racial issues are much of a problem.
Eeeehhh, I like that it's still got some action to it, but the animation still seems slow paced compared to the old one - Not to mention, WTF is up with those odd 'Green Lantern' type powers they're kinda sporting in this promo??
I need to see what Princess is going to be like. She's in a mech in that commercial. I hope she shows up more.
It does seem things are a little slower. I hadn't noticed it before. I'll probably get used to it.
Don't be hating on Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, fucker!
But the rest is crap. Man, what a dark age. I might complain about CN these days but at least I'm watching, during that era I'd never turn on the tv.
Well fine. Whatever. I'm glad it's not tweens. Ping Pong was made in flash too.
I don't like the song.
I really hope that's not what they use for the intro.
Also can somebody explain to me why they don't just re-air the old show instead of remaking it?
The reason they're remaking it is because it was popular and they want to make money off of it, but they're clearly trying to make money off of kids liking it rather than people who watched the original series as a kid.
How so? It may belong to them, but it was still his vision, his show. Nickelodeon is the bottom of the barrel, and even they said they'll only reboot their old shows if the creator says they want to come back and do something with it.
Why shouldn't they be? They portrayed the characters for years and then without any notice or even getting approached about it, they announce they're recasting the PPG but keeping every other voice for no reason.
>We support new voice actors unless they take one of our roles. Even though we have roles in pretty much everything.
Craig doesn't seem to be mad about his "vision" unless there are other tweets about it. If you're some of the most successful VAs in the industry and have voice roles in tons of shit you shouldn't be mad when one is replaced. It's not like you own the character.
>you should just accept this and bite into the shit sandwich that was once yours!
I feel sorry for your mother
He's wrong in that it's not shit but it's not great either. The fight scenes look great but everything else is clearly flash. They did a lot to make it look presentable but it's still noticeable.
Literally only Tara Strong. The other two are pretty much nothing without PPG. Besides, their voices are iconic. That'd be like having Solid Snake be voiced by someone other than David Hayter. OH WAIT HE WAS AND IT WAS SHIT.
None of what you're saying is relevant. Of course new actors is great, for new roles. It's just retarded and disrespectful to revive someone else's show and replace everything he hand-picked to make it great in the first place.
It doesn't help that the voice actors were replaced for two reasons. A marketing ploy, to plaster them all over commercials and make them relatable to tweens, and because it's cheap. If you think it's just to "support new talent" you're a fool.
>new theme song
But 2005-2008 CN was awesome.
The art style is RADICALLY different, more than I anticipated. I guess they're going for modernization more than anything.
The girls don't sound cute anymore..
Yeah it seems like /co/ grew a hate boner for her over the past couple of years, taking the /v/ strategy of hating something for being popular. Never mind that her performance as Bubbles was fantastic.
Yeah yeah there won't be any female villains because muh SJWs you know this because you heard it from your uncle at Cartoon Network also you ride a unicorn to work and the Queen gives you blwojobs when she's bored ie all the time.
Stop responding to obvious bait. Ignore shitposts. Have a Buttercup fused with abominations.
>It appears that the girls now have lantern powers assuming it's not a one episode thing and a bunch of new monsters were shown.
Eh, the girls regularly manifested crazy ass powers, I'm not surprised that energy manifestations are a new one.
>Because fuck Tara Strong.
Hurtful. That's hurtful.
>Someday the internet will get over ponies, but that day hasn't come yet.
The internet will, but /co/ won't.
We'll always love them. Always and never.
The damn you say!
It does seem odd to not get the original voice actors if they are available. I saw the preview clip and I gotta say Buttercup sounds weird.
I dunno maybe it's just nostalgia faggotry. At least it's nice to see the franchise getting more attention. It has been awhile.
Now Ben 10 on the other hand, that just seems like a slap in the face to the last series. The show only ended a few years ago.
>At least it's nice to see the franchise getting more attention. It has been awhile.
Out of all the franchises from the 90s, PPG has the most attention. It was mega popular in its hay day and it got a Ringo Starr special a few years back.
>Now Ben 10 on the other hand, that just seems like a slap in the face to the last series. The show only ended a few years ago.
What don't get is why CN is bringing it back when they tried so hard to kill it. That's some abusive boyfriend shit right there.
Looks like they just want to reboot it so they can cut out the continuity snarl. That seems like a bad move though. It's just gonna make things more complicated cause eventually someone will want to reference the original series' and they'll just be back in the situation they were in.
>You love the PowerPuff Girls
>You even have a parachute of them
>Go to Townsville
>Grow big so they'll notice you
>They fly towards you
>It's a dream come true
>Bubbles cuts off your arms
>Buttercup fires missiles at you
>Blossom literally shoots you with staples
>They call you a monster
>Tell you to stay away from Townsville
>Shake was right
>They are "nubby armed bitches"
>Your heroes have failed you
>Being Meatwad is suffering
>there won't be any female villains because muh SJWs
Give me a reason for her then.
That's bullshit and you know it.
Blossom sounds fucking HORRIBLE dude, her original voice was perfection.
Jesus even Maryke Hendrikse (who did the voice of motherfucking Revy) did a better Bubbles... Kristen Li's gonna take some getting used to..
Personally, I'm just tired of Tara Strong
Whenever I can recognize a voice actor, I just feel upset because it doesn't sound right
Like, they are acting out a character, they are just doing a voice
>That's a bizarre as fuck mindset anon.
It just means that they aren't doing as good of a job to diversify their vocal range
It doesn't mean that they are a bad voice actor, just one that doesn't do much
One doesn't need to alter their voice to have a large voice acting range, every character Patrick Warburton plays feels radically different for example. Same goes for Tara Strong, providing she has good direction, though I believe Tara relies on altering her voice a bit too much.
Jesus christ, It looks okay and it is similar the show. Christ, We didn't even see the first episode.
I can't believe /co/ become like that nerd who kidnap the girls and turn them into toys.
>how dare you have a conflicting opinion
You're all utterly retarded desu. If you think it looks like shit, fine explain why. If you think it looks fine, okay enjoy your show. No need to be such a fucking faggot about it.
Not his style. He was following someone else's model styles and style.
His style is OK KO/Steven Universe. Shit, a couple of characters from KO basically look like SU characters (KO = Ruby, his mother = Garnet).
>Same goes for Tara Strong, providing she has good direction
That's the thing is she does ten times more work than Warburton. She's a background character in like, nearly every cartoon airing and, a minor character in half of them and probably main character in 1/3rd of them. So after awhile, their voice tires. Same thing with Tom Kenny.
When you have 50 shit roles, it's going to make the audience get sicker of you faster than someone like Warburton who is typecasted but not nearly as exposed.
But I heard /co/ say they removed Him because of LGBT complaints!
Are you telling me /co/ is full of /pol/-shilling shitposters??
I hope this is some of the style we'll see in the intro, I love how this looks.
>No more variety of thick and thin lines for the characters
>No more stilyzed background
>Everything is round, safe and bland
>Slow paced action
>Violence tuned down
>That new theme song
I think it will be. It looks different from how they do the cartoons in the bumps. The intros are always pretty good.
I will never get used to that awful art direction
It's almost like they took the unique personality each girl's voice had and gave them to incredibly generic sounding VAs because they wanted to save money
Oh wait thats what actually happened
It was garbage yes, but there was still shows worth watching
Lazlo, fosters, Grimadventures, Flapjack and Chowder were all fantastic
All era's have garbage
Even the left side
Robot jones wasn't a good show
nigga, this some shit right here
>Based af Squirrel Boy
>Based af Camp Lazlo
>Based af Gym Partner
>Based af anime waifu hunter
>Slightly Based af Juniper Lee
you sir are a mighty faggot, please off yourself you complete mental retardation
Let me be honest
Johnny test gets too much hate
It's a neat show with neat experiments
I like the show more than the characters are consistantly aware and gain development throughout episodes, if a new character is introduced and stays, your going to be seeing him again, like Lord Vegan
The absolute best episodes are the ones where all the characters and villains get together for a race, those were great
Total Drama Island was 2007 to ongoing
we all agree it's terrible but that's not stopping us from watching it together every fucking season
I was in high school when Johnny Test came out. The first season was fine, nothing special. After that, it went to hell. You had to be real young to like that shit. Then I'm reminded it's 2016, and you brats are barely old enough to post here.
>he didn't even say it was bad, you fucking retard
>Robot jones wasn't a good show
I understand you cannot read, or maybe lack reading comprehension. But how are you able to type?
It's the setup of having characters, flexing them out and battle royals boogalo to see who lasts that makes it appearing
Damn straight we are going to keep watching
Ridonculous race was fucking great, finale was pretty tame and fair without over exaggeration but it ended way too soon, they didn't let it last
>Manboy, born of brawn and musk, has vowed to turn the city of Townsville into the city of Mansville, a place where men are men and boys are men, but not if The Powerpuff Girls have anything to do with it. Can super-powered sisters Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup save the day?
What I meant was why a reboot?
If they just wanted to make more of the show then a continuation would be fine.
Since they're rebooting it clearly they're targeting a new audience which leads one to wonder why they don't just reair the old stuff.
It would cost way less than producing a new show would and they'd make more overall due to this.
Nobody seems to want to talk about it but im really scared there just going to milk it and it'll never end, IV BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS GODDAMMIT ONE MAYBE TWO MORE SEASONS THEN END IT, PLEASE. Im sure tho that it will look the same and feel the same.
I really hope that theme from the first commercial isn't the actual theme song, that sounds absolutely awful.
Could they not even make a cover of the original's credits theme due to rights issues or something?
Zero seconds into the new clip and I'm already uninterested. I'm really starting to get sick of the Cartoon Network house artstyle.
