Is this red and black lantern rings fused??

it's from the Hal issue of Harley Quinn's teamup book, red and black are her colors so naturally she gets red and black rings
in all likeliness it is a gag that will never happen in an actual GL comic
or at least I hope not since combining rings is fucking stupid
Wasn't there a comic where Hal had Orange and yellow (for a panel) and guy had Red and Star Sapphire?? also saw an amazing blue/green lantern Hal Action figure (in box) before O.o
There was a fair bit of lore behind Johns' rings: red rings were created by Atrocitus from the blood of the Five Inversions, blue rings were created by Ganthet and Sayd to help the GLs, orange rings were created long ago by Krona and stolen by Larfleeze, indigo rings were created by Abin Sur to help reabilitate criminals, violet rings were created by Zamarons as a way of standing up to the GLs, black rings were created by Nekron to take over the universe, white rings were created by the Life Entity to fight off Nekron
Should have at least done one ring on each hand. Like when Guy was Red and Star Sapphire.
Ring rules always work fast and loose, like Batman decking Hal or stealing his ring, Ollie struggling to shape and arrow then on Sinestro or that big dumb event everyone gets a ring, hell, remember the first 12 or so issues of New52 GL where Sinestro literally constructed another ring outta his ass.
Yeah that was in War of the GLs, although they were just (briefly and temporarily) wearing two separate rings
in the OP pic? no idea, that issue isn't actually out yet
>remember the first 12 or so issues of New52 GL where Sinestro literally constructed another ring outta his ass.
deputy rings originated in the silver age and came up every so often, that wasn't actually new
Hal has worn all kinds of shit
>tfw you will never own Red or Orange Hal because they're expensive as shit
I don't understand why Guy didn't use the yellow ring. He's had lots of experience with it.
> ...and then the universe ended a few times
>I don't understand why Guy didn't use the yellow ring. He's had lots of experience with it.
that was before the yellow=fear thing and Guy's always had rage issues, by the time War of the GLs rolled around Yellow made sense for Hal and Red made more sense for Guy
You can own a lego armored Hal.
It'll cost you about $30 to get both sets.
But we already have fused rings. That's what the white lantern is- a fusion of the 7 colors. Because that's what you get when you combine all colors of light- white light. The black ring was the absence of emotion, just like black is only possible in the absence of visible light. Red+black=red, just like red light + no light = red. This is just retarded.
Seeing how intelligence is in short supply why don't they start using that on comics? Even batman is a dumbfuck now.
DC keeps trying to jump on the marvel wagon (mind you i like both) but Avengers was great so rather then doing the build up the wanna boom so manythings in one movie. oh every one loves dead pool lets make our own
Why do I want the Grey lanterns to be a symbol of happiness?
I want the happy lanterns.
>That's what the white lantern is- a fusion of the 7 colors
Not really, Life is its own thing. Highfather tried combining all 7 colours into one beam and ended up with Horrible Mutation instead of Life
Jet-black things in comics have traditionally gotten blue highlights to prevent them being just a mass of black on the page. This was especially popular in the four-color era, but persists today with things like Superman's hair.
There have been cases of things that were inked with too much focus on the blue highlights, leading them to be seen by future artists as blue.
Originally furry Beast was meant to have black fur. If memory serves, Spider-Man's costume was also originally meant to be red and black.
Is that ring powered by being incredibly edgy?
>That's what the white lantern is- a fusion of the 7 colors. Because that's what you get when you combine all colors of light- white light.
That's not what it was until they decided Kyle had to be extra special because he could feel more than one emotion at the same time
