Also Sony is currently not advertising Ratchet's film. If they're not creating hype for Ratchet due out this year, then Sly automatically has failed.

I don't think that's likely, because Crash and Spyro ended up at Universal after the split with Sony, and now they are at Activision due to some buyouts and mergers. Sony owns Suckerpunch so Sly Cooper and the franchise creator are still under the same roof, even though SP only really offers input on the franchise rather than developing it directly.
Sony doesn't own the creators of Ratchet and Clank but they have a healthy relationship with them. Insomniac had the opportunity to be bought out by Sony but they aren't interested due to wanting more freedom, but Sony still works with them and they have a lot of control over R&C.

Here's something I don't get. Gaming wise, Carmelita Fox has had more exposure. Despite this Krystal from Starfox is MUCH more popular and drawn. But her screen time is:
- A minute intro in Starfox Adventures - A smallish support role in Starfox Assault no different from Fox's other wingmen. - A somewhat substantial but HIGHLY unpopular role where she was a massive cunt in SF Command. Also ugly ass art style for that game.
Even now with SF0 on the way she's got fans wanting her back. So why the popularity? Nintendo's Starfox has never been that high tier of a franchise for the company. I think it barely edges out Metroid.
