Is The Punisher the greatest villain in the eyes of villains? Is Frank the baddest dude around?
But what about Looney Moony?
No, it's Moon Knight making Taskmaster shit his draws, also
>Cutting off a niggas face
How many supervillains has Frank actually succeeded at killing? It turned out that none of the people in this bar died even though Frank poisoned them and blew the place up.
He can't even kill Jigsaw for fuck's sake, he's only good at killing mooks and non-costumed gang leaders.
Fun fact: because the Plunderer is Ka-Zar's brother and there were thus still stories that could be told with him, he was brought back and they explained that this guy was actually one of the Plunderer's agents.
So the only Supervillains Frank has ever succesfully franked are Stilt-Man (not even the original Stilt-Man) and Goldbug (and there is now a new Goldbug)
I think he also killed some of the villains the Hood had resurrected during Remender's run, but really, I don't think killing characters who had died and were resurrected just to be killed off really counts.
Not to mention, it turned out Mirage wasn't dead even though he shot him in the head, he couldn't even kill a zombie.
I never thought he was all that popular or well known.
Black Talon (later resurrected)
Jack O Lantern II (later resurrected)
It was the original Stilt-Man.
It was Lady Gorgon who shot Mirage while Frank was in the middle of torturing him.
I've been reading through Max, and it kind of gets on my nerves how they go to great lengths to acknowledge that Frank is getting old as hell in the first arc (mentioning 'Nam, saying that he's in his fifties or sixties, drawing him wrinkled and grizzled as shit) and then slowly de-age him as the comic goes on. The first arc has Frank Eastwood going on and then they just kinda stop drawing the wrinkles.
It eventually becomes the focus of Aaron's continuation.
Punisher is pretty much Marvel's batman with the only difference being he actually shoots people, right?
Same lolpreptime super thick plotarmor despite being a normal human who makes all the other characters job to him.
I'm gonna say yes.
Yeah, but he doesn't kill. The Punisher doesn't just kill, you know when he shows up that his entire goal is to kill you. I mean it's not just an option, not a frightening possibility - it's horrifying reality.
Worse is that you probably won't see him coming, and if you do it's almost certainly too late.
What's even worse is that if you're a high-up bad guy, like a big boss, the death you get is gonna make all those mown-down goons he went through to get to you look like a picnic
Have Spider-Man or Daredevil ever had arcs where the entire point is the remaining five guys of the mob getting desperate because they wiped out the entirety of the organization in like a week?
>a normal human
He's actually an agent of Hell. Never retconned. Just skated over.
The fact is, in 'Purgatory' it was stated outright he is linked to Olivier, a Hell-lord... the skull is actually his face. And Olivier is still around. After that mini, Frank worked for Heaven for a bit, until Ennis came around and had him say that he didn't do that anymore because he didn't like working for them.
So... I'm gonna say he defaulted back to Olivier. I don't think he gives a fuck.
I still am rooting for Zarathos choosing Frank as a champion. It would make more sense.
"The catch, mortal, is that you would be an agent of vengeance for all eternity."
Him being old and breaking down (even if he doesn't look it) was the premise of the Frank and Homeless arcs, though it's brought up earlier.
As for the "he can do the impossible despite his age" thing in general, let's just blame the weird ending to Born.
Frank Castle is the stupidest comic book character ever. He's basically just "guns, hurrr" the character.
The moment he comes up against a character that has any sort of legitimate powers, if the writers weren't complete shit, he'd lose.
>He's actually an agent of Hell. Never retconned. Just skated over.
Is that what this is referencing? I never read any of the occult Frank stuff cause it seemed well, dumb
Thank you, anon.
See above. Also, is it dumber than a man who uses guns and training and nothing else to successfully operate in a world where supervillains exist?
No... Frank Castle is a little chunk of Hell on Earth. Mooks piss their pants because they sense that damnation is walking towards them and in a few moments they will be rushing screaming down the throat of Hell.
It was dumb, but every so often is brought up, usually as a joke like in pic related.
I think your pic and maybe the ending of Born (>>79712750) are the only serious references to it.
Do Jews have demons, or an equivalent of them?
Why is the Leader red? Did they just reddify all the gamma characters when Hulk went red? Are they all linked to his Hulk status?
Does that mean they all got grey and streetwise when he was Mr. Fixit? I kind of want to see Abomination in a Capone suit now.
Moon Knight is a more psychotic Batman.
For all intents and purposes, yeah, Punisher is the one villains fear the most because they know Frank won't put them in jail. They'll put them to rest but given that since the vast majority of the villains in the Marvel Universe have at least a super power of some sort and the fact that Frank mostly pursues the mafia or slavers or some other shit like that, he's not that feared.
Moon Knight will hunt you down, butcher you and leave your for death but he's mostly struggling with his own crazy self so he's not like a 24/7 vigilante like Batman or Frank.
I think villains in the Marvel Universe are more scared of someone like Doom, since he will also fuck anyone's shit on a whim.
When the Hood resurrected a bunch of the Scourge's victims, he told them that Frank was once the Scourge.
They seemed to believe it, despite Microchip's doubts that they would.
>anyone that doesn't like Punisher only likes lighthearted comics
Have you ever considered that Punisher is just a shit character?
He'd know that they'll try to kill him or at least cripple him forever, so he'll try to kill as many as possible before they do him in.At that point he'd have nothing to lose anyway since he'd be conemned to life without parole.
It would be an interesting story actually.
This to me highlights why the Punisher is such a shit concept.
There are 1000s of villains in NYC alone that have done far worse than generic mafia guy #1, but Frank rarely goes after them and when he does its Z list crap that gets retconned anyway.
Frank shouldn't exist in the 616, only his own MAX stories.
