What went wrong?

you being a piece of shit millennial and making a "what went wrong" thread
>>
>>79683790
Literally everything. Yes, including the girl, you pedophile fucks.
>>
Maybe this show simply does not appeal to our demographic
>>
>>79686191
how dare they
>>
>>79686191
The book series aimed for the exact same demographic and it's much better.

What went wrong:

Harold is supposed to be smart, not stupid

Bunnicula shouldn't talk, no not even babbling

Chester should be would be kitty Van Helsing
>>
>>79686375
>Bunnicula shouldn't talk, no not even babbling

Pretty sure that's one of those things tacked on the show by execs before being allowed to be made.
>>

Fuck off

Oh nevermind I thought we were doing a meme thread

The babbling, pretty much. Everything else is different from the books, but still manage to work.

So far.

Jesus, that's pure "I was born after 1998" in post form.

You mean boogeypyrsin.
>>
This just better not be one of those *animal does some weird shit that the owner never sees* kind of shows.
>>
>>79686046

The girl's fine. She's mostly pick-and-mix audience appeal, but she came out looking decent considering her individual parts, at least.

Also, she likes iron maidens and has a key as a necklace, so she has a bit of an edge.
>>
>>79686163
>Memellenials
>>
>>79689915

And she's a Dracula reference, which is clever.
>>
>>79689832
It's a little early to tell.
It's not just the one animal, there are a lot of general spooky happenings that seem to be attracted to him.
Bunnicula seems to want to not only protect his owner from any actual harm, but also from being frightened. The second part of the episode, the cat moved Bunnicula into action by saying that the spooky happenings would "scare" Mina, not hurt her, he just said "scare". And the thought of her being afraid was apparently enough for Bunnicula to move her away from the happenings. So it would seem that while the animal isn't always the cause of the weird shit, he does actively keep his owner from seeing any of it.

But again, it's a little early to tell.
>>
>>79683790

I don't remember him having bat ears in the book
>>
I want to breed bunnicula
>>

He didn't.
>>
>>79690151

You probably won't remember the giant cockroach that's friends with Bunnicula, either.
>>

I kinda hope this is a Kafka reference.

it's been a while granted but no that's a new one to me

Score!

I might just watch it for her alone.

You are pathetic.
>>
Its just not an interesting concept
>>
>>79690485
THIS. Fucking THIS post sums it up. The concept in and of itself just isn't interesting even if it followed the books to a T. Bunnicula's concept is just as uninteresting as Rare's Dinosaur Planet. Even if that game's concept was respected and developed as intended it doesn't erase how uninteresting it really is. As a result it would gain no traction and just be forgotten (aka fail).
>>
>>79683790

Generic giant bug movies.

>>79690311

........ No.
>>
>>79690162
If by breeding you mean actually breeding, not just fucking yourself, than yeah I'm sure most people would.
Starting a line of vampiric bunnies would be pretty cool, the pinnacle of animal husbandry.
>>
>>79691207
I'd be more curious on the vampire ability to breed, that's my foremost concern.
>>
he's so cute

So basically it's "We didn't even read the books, lol."

This is all I could think of when Bunnicula "talked" and it made me hate it even more.

You know exactly what I mean.

It starts off with Chester and Harold already being acquainted with Bunnicula, so already the first episode doesn't actually feel like a first episode. The book was appealing because it had a sense of mystery to it. Chester and Harold slowly begin to notice that there's something off about the bunny, and there's some funny shenanigans that go on with them solving the mystery, but this is essentially just a dull monster of the week cartoon with a wild card character that makes annoying babbles. He generally fucks things up at first, but saves the day in the end while Chester and Harold flail about. Oh and there's a girl too, but she doesn't do much of anything.
>>
>>79691908
He said crush, not lust.

Wow.

You're asking if Chester would top or bottom? Hmm, I don't know, I didn't think about it at that age. In the books he was sort of forceful, trying to kill Bunnicula, but he was also so neurotic and his plans would inevitably blow up in his face. So I'll say Chester bottoms.

Bunnicula tops.

I was born in 1990 and grew up on the book. It has the feel of the book and the characters are still how they're supposed to be with Chester being paranoid and Harold being on Bunnicula's side. Yes, you are complaining about it being not your Bunnicula because they made creative differences

>>
>>79690437
I know I am but qt girl voiced by an awesome VA is great for me.
>>
I loved these books as a kid. What is this shit.

First of all: never focus on the rabbit. The rabbit is just an Entity that lives in the house, kind of spooky and unknown.
This would have done better with a more realistic art style. The cartoon style doesent gel with the books original spooky yet harmless atmosphere.
Also, Harold was smart yet easygoing. Making him stupid is a fucktarded decision. He needed to be smart, because if he wasn't holding Chester back, Chester might have actually hurt the bunny.
Making them both ineffectual ruins that.

Goddammit I'm pissed.

When I read the book the best part, for me at least, was the mystery. I was a kid at the time, but was old enough to have read other books and seen countless episodes on TV with the morale "don't judge a book by it's cover", "people who seem weird or even evil can be nice" or, my favorite, the "everything has a logical explanation" routine.
But with that book I wasn't so sure. I kept trying to predict the "it was just your imagination/monsters aren't real/don't judge someone without knowing them" ending, but kept asking myself "could this really be a vampire bunny?"

Of course, that was all a long time ago, and I was a kid, so I may just be looking back with rose-tinted lenses. But still, a little mystery would be nice.
It would also just work better as a story. The first episode of the show was full of Chester just spewing exposition: "If I want to lock up Bunnicula the rabbit who is a vampire I will need Mina's key because that was the key she used to unlock the strange crypt inside the cellar some time ago from which Bunnicula came".
It was just really awkward storytelling.

>>79694260
I didn't know there was a cartoon either until a couple days ago when I saw /co/ jizzing their pants about it. Despite my extended bitching it's actually not bad.
>>
the little chink girl

You would seriously trade giant robots for talking animals?
>>
>>79698163
Yes.
Fuck giant robots.
The maintenance costs alone are a nightmare.
>>
>>79698163
I think a distinction needs to be drawn between the concept of giant robots and the cast of TF:P.
>>
Is there porn of the rabbit yet?
>>
>>79691946

>It starts off with Chester and Harold already being acquainted with Bunnicula

Seems like its one of those "the theme song explains everything" shows. You saw Mina unlock Bunnicula's door, anyway.
>>
>>79683790
WTF!

Did the morons who did the show even bother reading the book or even looking at the fucking cover.
>>
>>79683790

This TV show might not get a Season 2 due to poor ratings. Calling it.
>>
Fucking Why?
>>
>>79691480
This is so weird lol, he was basically a somewhat realistic cat on the book covers/illustrations

No judgement tho
>>
This show would be much better and more entertaining if it was somehow based on the actual books.

At least Chester mentioned reading a book, maybe he'll have books on the supernatural to use later like in the books, Harold being a dumbass is incredibly obnoxious though.
>>
>>79703591
No and no.
