What would it be like if it was rebooted today? It's not as if there's a shortage of material for them to work with.
It would be absolutely loathed by /co/.
It would be the ultimate "meme-show" with complaiints of inconsistent animation, Dot being shat on to a venomous degree (think Mabel and Lisa put together), and every post ending with an 'ironic' "DAE le Nations of Le World? XD"
>not just have it be a straight up continuation
>Warners got locked in the tower all over again
>WB forgets what/who they are
>Water tower is just dumb symbol of a past age
>Someone decides to tear it down, and warners get let loose
>Series is about them catching up on the past twenty years of pop culture, after finding their references no longer make sense
It'd be played for laughs.
>Guy is flirting super hard with some girl
>'Jeez, who is this guy, President Clinton!?'
>'42nd president of these United States? Monica Lewinzky? Impeachment? The ol' rinkydink in the oval office?'
'He's playing the sax in our opening!'
I dunno, I'm shit at writing funnies.
Honestly, this kind of does deserve a modern continuation. The generation who grew up with the show would watch it, so if they were to make a joke about something in modern Hollywood we would get it. But WB would probably get shit writers who don't have the energy or humor of the writers of the old series so it would crash pretty fast
Throw in some darker/adult humour like the original series too.
>Dot starts drooling over Michael Jackson
>Says how dreamy he was when she went away
>Goes to look up his current address to get her Thriller on
>Looks up from computer, wide eyed, obviously shocked
>'...Well that explains why he was always so fond of Wacko I guess!'
If anything, I think Mel Gibson works better. In the original series, that was who she seemed to constantly fawn over.
>Is Mel still as dreamy as ever?
>Looks him up.
>Uh... I don't think so.
I'm a big animaniacs fan but I wouldn't like to see it rebooted because I feel it would suffer the same issue: to many references and time relevant humour. I could easily see it spouting stuff like 'selfie' over and over.
Cosby: You see, back in the day there were puddin pops, now there's puddin extreme, extreme puddin, and I can't believe it's not puddin but it still tastes like puddin! Then there's-
Dot: Is there a goodnight, puddin?
Yakko: Eeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh, I think that treat's best kept out of reach for young girls!
more than the show itself, i would like to see /co/'s reaction.
Animaniacs and tiny toon would be
rughtfullyconsidered "meme shows" if they came out today, and yet those cartoons are still really enjoyable.
Fuck this is gold.
And now I want to see someone draw the warners doing charity work, or the shirts thing with Pinkie and the Brain.
also, i know she was the local Scrappy, but what happened to Elmyra?
Elmyra probably went to rehab to cure her addiction to little pets.
No one knows why she buys so may pets, but sure there are a lot of recently covered pits in her backyard.
I would LIKE to imagine something a little different, where their show was actually treated like a show, and some execs are looking to reboot it. Unfortunately for the Warner siblings, from what they see of other (albeit imaginary) properties, they want no part of it, and do everything in their power to prevent it.
Add in some skits, some new, and some updated old ones(The Kabooms: Katie's twin kids), and you have... a glimpse of how terrible my ideas can be.
I mean, it kinda makes sense, but Animaniacs was more cohesive. Instead of having fast gags that look like shitty Adult Swim bumpers, the segments of Animaniacs were a few, but had a real focus. They DID try to tell stories and write humor, even if the jokes were meh and the animation looked like shit at times.
MAD is a clusterfuck of references.
Same as the last show, but with no Good Feathers or any of the weaker segments.
They have loads to with with, they can rip moe & fujo and new one and pester Lupin III.
Everyone hated the D.Gray Man reboot anyway so if they reboot this they will be beloved for it.
TMS will not do that, it will be a continuation, but with more waifus.
They will not, it will still be Ghibli on it's head.
No, it's this.
I'm sure TMS will do a much better job then Pierrot, they even worked on Episode 13A.
In the end, it will be much smarter to reboot Animaniacs then it is to do another jacket color of Lupin III (Blue Jacket sold less then 3000 copies).
Man, that show came as a total surprise to me.
When I saw the chaos that was episode 1, I thought it was going to be shit, but it's surprisingly a decent comedy show and a not-shitty reboot.
That only had a handful of Animaniacs staff on it.
Most of them did this as of recently.
Yes they will.
>the animation looked like shit
Only Freelance looked like shit, TMS & Startoons were excellent and Wang was also good too.
>That only had a handful of Animaniacs staff on it.
Randy Rogel, I think
It's the top handful.
> Most of them did this as of recently.
You mean the animation staff? That's TMS, and "Animaniacs" didn't just use TMS anyway.
No, it's not.
This is the top hand full.
Hiroyuki Aoyama (key animator, but did direct on Tiny Toons)
Yoshinobu Michihata (key animator)
Teiichi Takiguchi (key animator, but did direct on Tiny Toons)
Shijiro Nishimi (key animator, but did direct on Tiny Toons)
Thats the top staff.
I bet Michael Bay is furry for Slappy
it would probably be shit because the new writers would try too hard to capture the old magic than make new magic, the animation would be total crap, and possibly even the full cast wouldn't return either.
>Are these all TMS employees?
Yes, a few are now freelanced however.
>Do any of them worked at Warner Brothers Animation?
It will not be shit, if TMS can pulled off Blue Jacket Lupin III with flying colors then Animaniacs will be a cake walk.
7D is no longer in production (as of no season 3) so the show will have the same writers and the magic will still be there.
The animation will net be crap, TMS still has most of the staff who did Animaniacs.
Only a few of the voice actors are dead, most are still working.
Having the same staff doesn't mean animation quality will be the same. Budgetting and animation standards are extremely different from what they were 20 years ago. The writing either, since its', again, been 20 years. Lupin is nothing like animaniacs. Saying it'll be great because lupin was is silly. You have no idea what kind budget a new animaniacs could pull in. Honestly, I respect the optimism but you gotta understand tv stations don't want to pay big for cartoon shows.
When the animation team did Moyashimon Returns, Aikatsu (for Sunrise), Space Dandy (for Bones), Lupin Vs Conan The Movie, The Wind Rises (for Ghibli), Francesca and Blue Jacket Lupin III since 7D was announced.
Only budgets are different due to inflation, quality standers never change.
