>The "picture" reference is to The Unknown, a 1927 Chaney-Browning horror film.
she got a patreon almost a year ago and has only released like 5 new pages in tht time.
currently making 5,912 dollari-doos a month
She's released a good amount more than that.
Either way, 12-24 pages a year is pretty damn good for this level of art. Remember this comic is a one lady show. She writes and draws it, and with the level of detail she puts into the art, I'm not surprised it takes her a whole damn month to get 1 or 2 pages done. Better than jeph handstabbington over there churning out a page of shit every day for 10 thousand a month.
Have the pledges gone down? I swear it was $7-something last time I looked.
Also, this is the 11th page since Patreon. Which is still 9-10 less than there should have been. This is why nobody takes artists seriously; pay them an inordinate amount of money to do a simple job and they still only manage half their promised output, because their pet cat was sick or something.
Patreon changed the way they calculate pledge totals a while back- the figure displayed is what the artist actually received in the... last billing period, I think? So the old total minus fees, failed pledges etc.
It's to stop people gaming the system by making fake pledges and then cancelling them before the money is taken.
That backhand doesn't look anywhere close to violent enough to cause that much damage. Rare for Butler to make an art fuck up like that.
Why do DoA threads get so many posts while actually good comics die after a dozen or so?
>Read this comic years ago, and quit when it was clear updates would rarely ever come
>People still actually like this hyper realistic, pretentious slug of a comic
You people just wanna see the little black girl and the irish kid get on, don't you?
Because it's easy to talk about something you hate, while with something you love there's not much to say. The former provides a lot to critique, while the latter doesn't offer much.
I still really like it, brah. I'm even supporting Tracey on Patreon because of it.
Also I don't think Ivy is black, but Tracy has mentioned it is pretty hard to communicate race through caticatures.
>Also I don't think Ivy is black
She's not. I think he was talking about her fur color, but she's only arguably that, too.
The only thing close to black characters are the Savoys, and they're mulatto.
But more importantly, they cats.
>She's not. I think he was talking about her fur color
Ah okay, you just mentioned it in the same breath of calling Calvin "the irish kid" so I assumed.
>But more importantly, they cats.
Sexy, sexy cats
>some lady makes cat mobsters the totally-not-furry comic at one page a goddamn month
>and she takes in four times as much as I do working full time, even excluding that a good 90% of that goes to paying for bills and a roach-infested shit of an apartment
>I have work tomorrow
If Marigold harms a hair on Waifucat's head I fucking swear.
So Tracy is gonna be the Guest of Honor at Anthrocon this year
Anyone else going?
i just want to know where all of this build up is going. rocky got his face scarred for god knows the reason and his cousin is turning into another ladykiller/hitman.
i also want to know if those cajun twins have some incest relationship. they're strangely close for a brother and sister pair.
She probably does things to help her survive living in St. Louis. Like getting stomach pumps after dining on its famous cuisine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_cuisine
Maybe the whole affair between Lackadaisy and Marigold can be resolved with some old fashioned gooey butter cake
>12 to 24 pages a year is oretty damn good for this leve of art
Fuck you Dave Sim released 45 pages a month at this level of art and ran a comic book publishing company. There is no excuse.
>Either way, 12-24 pages a year is pretty damn good for this level of art.
this is my issue with this comic, Yes, the quality of her art is probably the best of any web comics out to date, but what is that good for it it fails to keep me interested in the first place?, the writing is mediocre and the story is really boring, combine that with the extremely slow update schedule, its just not worth my time or my money.
I swear to god I want to get a job as a Lawyer at one of the companies that owns the characters she is pooping fan art out of and just sue the crap out of her. A TON of her work would not be covered by parody laws.
(Yes it is sour grapes, but this hack does not deserve 1/100 of what she gets)
Keychains sound great. T-shirts as another anon said would also be great. Oh maybe a real-life version of Rocky's lucky tie (the one with the 'R' on it)?
If you indeed be Tracy, I wanna say sorry for typing your name with an E in it when asking you a question on tumblr a few weeks ago. I really did join Patreon by the way!
If my stalking of her tumblr and forums are any good indication, the usual two suspects are "taking care of homeless cats" and "researching some meticulous detail about history that nobody would even complain about, like the police procedure in 20s St Louis"
Well, this sounds horrible, but what did I expect from being a fan of a comic about bipedal cats?
I'd like the print to be available to me without spending more on shipping than I would on volumes. I really need to get a job at translations and push some publisher to publish it here.
But a Marigold would be great as well, I admit.
