/Trash/: when you hit rock bottom, it's only up from there
ROMAN LIVES GOD DAMMIT
THEY HAVEN'T REVEALED HIS SEMBLANCE OR HIS 'SAD BACKSTORY' YET
I'm starting to suspect there may be a correlation between my character preference and how much of their bodies is composed of machine.
I don't know, but that's a fight I really want to see.
>Loses his hand
>Father dresses in black, and wears a mask
>Has four letters in his name
>Highly protective of his sister
>Has a cool speeder
>Associates with a royal and a furry
>Yang Xiao Long
>Loses her hand
>Mother dresses in black, and wears a mask
>Has four letters in her name
>Highly protective of her sister
>Has a cool motorcycle
>Associates with a royal and a furry
That's not even going into how Cinder's plan is basically Order 66.
>People on tumblr crying and saying Adam's character is ruined because he isn't like their headcanons
>I find it humerous how people are jumping off the Tauradonna ship and people are saying if you ship Tauradonna then you ship a abusive relationship.
>1. They are no longer in a relationship nor has it yet or truly bin confirmed yet if they ever were. People took him calling her his love and darling as a green light for them once being canon
>2. Blake charged at Adam which started the fight so yes people get hit around during fights. Also don’t pretend you’ve never got mad and smacked someone.
>3. Adam stabbed Blake and it was Yang who charged at him without thinking which ended with him cutting off Yangs arm.
>4. When Adam tried to cut off Blakes head I think he knew it was a shadow since she wouldn’t just jump in front of his sword without trying to protect herself and Yang. Besides I’m sure RT added that part to freak everybody out.
>5. The season ends next week and things can change. Besides you have to look from Adams point of view and what he felt, you can’t just watch the episode and call him a heartless and evil bastard.
>Please do not talk shit about this post because I am allowed to have my own opinion.
>I just finished watching the new RWBY episode and even though Adam hurt Blake I still ship it and I do have reasons why! You probably are saying I ship a abusive relationship, well your wrong. Adam and Blakes relationship is actually BASED ON Beauty and the Beast! Adam grew up with Blake so I’m sure he feels like through all they had been through he had been protecting her. In Beauty and the Beast Belle wanted to leave and the Beast threatened to destroy all that was dear to her. Blake left so Adam felt like since she destroyed their relationship, which was dear to him, he felt like destroying everyone close to her would be pay back.
>Yes I find him wrong for doing that but guys THE SEASON IS NOT OVER YET!!! Everyone is bashing Adam and tauradonna shippers when we don’t even know what will happen between them! Personally I believe Adam is doing all this because she was the only person he held dear to him and she left.
>Truely you can’t blame all this on Adam, part of it was Blakes fault to. Blake is a quiet character that I feel doesn’t really voice her opinion much. Instead of actually fighting Adam when she was part of the White Fang about what was right and wrong, she ran. I think thats what Adam mean’t when he said she would run again. She seems to always keep to herself and I’m sure Adam got angry when she ran instead of facing him about his true wrong doings.
>In the black trailer Blake asked him about the passengers and his reply was “What about them?”. I’m sure he wanted her to stand up to him, but instead she ran. So you really can’t blame everything on Adam. But the season is not over yet and things can change. So please stop talking shit about Adam and Tauradonna. Also I am allowed to have my own opinion so don’t get on here telling me I’m a bad person and shit.
>Tumblr drama over Adam's actions
RWBY is the gift that keeps on giving.
>Watching ep with friends
>this scene pops up
>suppose to be warm and fuzzy scene
>we all say the equivalent of pic related
You can't fool us anymore, show
>Raven shows up to save Yang on a train that she had no reason to even know about let alone intervene
>Nowhere to be found when Yang is fighting a katana-toting psychopath in the middle of a burning academy with Grimm everywhere
>Thankfully, this does bring us to some good things out of this bloodbath. Ruby, while taking a rough fight managed to hold her ground against Neo and Roman, who was also a massive douchebag this week. while little come out of the fight, Neo was at least subdued and lost to the wind and Roman was eaten by a Griffon where in an ideal world, he will go through a long and painful digestion process for being a massive prick.
>is bullying fodder and cutesy useless character for nearly 3 seasons
>suddenly, she is basically the most OP character that is possible
... why is she a timid bunny again?
She should be rekting people's shit
I sure do love watching Tumblr explode. Pic very related.
CRDL are the heroes we need, keeping the power madness in check. Why do you think they bullied Jaune?
That's what makes Cardin special.
I like yang
And I have a bit of a fetish for stumps
So this whole situation is pretty golden, for me
When will it be Weiss' turn to suffer?
Gentlemen! For just one post, I am going to cut lose and pretend like I am posting on Reddit or the RT site:
Cinder is such a badass!
he's a droog. A sympathetic backstory motivation would be kinda inappropriate
>Ozpin conscripts him to bully Cinder
>This backfires as she falshes back to her childhood and she ends up nukeing the entire area
>The Dragon Grimm is defeated and all the fodder are dead
>Ozpin sips and pokes Cardin's corpse while thinking "How's that for keikaku"
>a powerful ancient bully emerged from a lake and told some girls i didnt know how to jack off til i was 16 & used a really unorthodox style
it phantom hurts
Well, Roman's more of a contrivance than Neo, in any case. The latter was taken out by an exploit, the former fell victim to timely convenience.
>I have you cornered!
>Rather than finishing you off, let me ramble about my motives to let a random Grimm swoop in and snack on me!
Roman's fine guys, h-he's right here!
>Villain plushies/figurines when
definitely, although he may schrödinger for a season or two
I'm not too sure it was convenience though. Roman was going through his monologue and being incredibly negative on just about everything in general; his future, everyone else's future, the reality that the majority of heroes are all dead, in the history books and nothing more, etc. All that negativity is probably what tempted a Grimm to come on down.
It's not the worst death scene but the whole "Lie, steal, cheat, and survive!" bit makes me think they're going to pull something off where Roman lives, because the irony/joke of him saying that what he does best is survive just to die immediately after is so cliche and played out in all forms of media that I can't seriously believe even RT would go that route.
It's the equivalent of a character saying that they're invincible/unkillable and then in the very next scene they're worm food.
The guy's a career criminal who has moved forward in life by harming and quite probably killing others. If Grimm focused on people solely for the negative actions they committed and negative things they said, he'd be Ursa chow as far back as The Breach, even when factoring in what happened with Penny.
So, anti-aura blades are the next powerlevel of villain tech? I guess that means the melee game moves from tanking to dodging and dust magic and semblances become much more relevant. But what will be the next development?
Anti-anti-aura force shields?
Anti-aura blade breakers?
A fair point and throws a wrench in what I said considerably. It could have just been a coincidence, could have been something more, who knows.
All I want is for Roman to come back. The best duo shouldn't be broken up like this, especially after having one of the better fights of the entire show.
Eh. The Grimm don't need negativity to attack a human. They attack humans on sight, supposedly.
It's a cool theory, but it also implies that the griffons were holding off because the fighters weren't feeling negative enough, until Roman started his speech.
>negative actions they committed and negative things they said
They don't. They are drawn to negative emotions.
If you're killing 70 babies but having a great time doing it then you're good.
If you're killing 70 babies but are feeling awful about it every time you cave ones head in with your boot then you'll attract Grimm.
Wrong. They do attack humans on sight, but they can sense negative emotions from a long range. Remember, they are also drawn to human structures. They destroy communications relays even if there are no humans at them.
I would also debate that he was feeling entirely negative when he was giving that speech.
He was definitely annoyed when he was talking about hunters being futile and dying, but he seems triumphant when he's on the last but about how he'll lie, steal, cheat and survive.
I don't think Grimm can morally judge people. But they're attracted to "negative emotions", and Roman was feeling bitter enough to monologue about it.
No. They don't need it, but they are drawn to it. The Grimm were all going to the city for the negative emotion buffet. But when Ruby almost falls off and panics about nearly dying immediately a Nevermore breaks off and comes for her. Then when Roman goes on his negative tirade a Griffon breaks off and comes for him. Their spikes of negativity briefly lured the Grimm away from their main target.
Grimm are naturally predisposed to just attack humans on sight, but they're drawn to negative emotions. If there's a happy girl picking flowers in a field and a village of sadness they will probably end up ignoring the girl and rush to the negative emotion hotspot.
I don't think that Adam had special anti-aura tech, just that he was strong enough to deplete Yang's aura and leave her vulnerable. His semblance does seem to relate to cutting, given what he did to the spider droid back in the black trailer.
>just that he was strong enough to deplete Yang's aura and leave her vulnerable.
So his attacks are more powerful than a paladin punching her through a pillar? Aura works in mysterious ways. We all know RT are inconsistent with Auras. They are a plot shield, and their strength depends on what the story asks for.
There is some precedence. In the show, the Grimm rushed past those blue atlas guards who were out in the field, presumably because they were attracted to the mass negativity happening elsewhere.
But then, it also seems odd for them to straight-up hold off until somebody reached a high enough level of negativity.
I think of it like the Grimm can obviously just see and attack people. But a person who is happy isn't interesting and doesn't stand out while a person who is sad is like a big glowing fat juicy worm that they can't resist.
>Secretly the winter maiden
>Is named Winter
That would be fucking retarded. And anyway, Qrow had her kicked out of the room before the began talking about the maidens so she clearly doesn't know about them
Mmmaybe he could absorb some of the power leaking when Yang switched on her semblance
A 1-hit-kill seems still pretty inconsistent with what we know about the world and aura but Yang may've been exhausted, too
I don't think they're holding off. I think that they were running past a slice of plain bread to go eat the freshly cooked roast dinner just past it. There was just something more interesting to them at that moment it's priorities, if the city wasn't there then they'd have gone for Ruby and Roman.
But Roman's speech was just spreading jam and peanut butter all over that plain slice of bread until one of the Grimm was all "hot damn that looks good!".
I thought huntsmen were basically immortal unless their aura hits 0, then they take mortal wounds. That's really the only way I can see them allowed to use their normal weapons in the tournament.
A concession, but as said before, Roman wasn't completely negative - sure, he went on about how all the heroes are dead the world's a mess, but he certainly seemed positive about his own prospects.
It could be a case of negativity doing him in, but even then it's incredibly convenient that one Grimm just happened to be nearby when he started monologuing.
Why do people say Bumblebee has been "confirmed"?
>"Adam said he would kill everyone Blake loves, starting with Yang!"
It is possible to love your friends and not actually LOVE them. It's called platonic love. Blake loves all her friends. Adam wants her to suffer by watching her friends die.
>"Yang cried when she saw Blake!"
Yeah I'm sure a lot of people would cry if they saw someone impaling their friend.
>Blake saved Yang's life!
Yeah, that's what friends do. They help each other.
It reminds me of how people said Bumblebee got "confirmed" in volume 2 after Yang and Blake had their talk. There has been nothing in the show to suggest that Yang and Blake have feelings for each other.
Will Yang go ROBOT ROCKET FIST or One-Armed Monkey?
Will she get a creepy Grimm arm from mommy/cinder's affiliates?
Will she quit school and become a rock star?
because like with Korra people want to force their ships to be real
I would be totally a-ok with Bumblebee as long as they develop it more rather then a sudden spontaneous thing
Just ignore shippers anon, they twist everything around to make their OTP seem in love and then flame creators for 'queer baiting' when it doesn't come true. It's not uncommon to find screencaps, with hundreds of notes, of Yang and Blake looking at each other with tags talking about Bumbleby being canon
Well yes, that's supposed to be what happens.
Obviously, there's something going on with Adams weapon/semblance. He seems to be able to basically disintegrate things with it. I wouldn't be surprised if that also applied to aura.
Well Ruby is actually fast while Burter was just full of it. Flight is just Ki manipulation so the higher your power level the faster you go. And Burter certainly doesn't have the highest power level in the universe.
Monty wanted everyone to be prude and upskirt technology was a thing. Then Neath said otherwise and then upskirt technology vanished andlesbo orgies erryday.
It's Emerald, the cheap slut
RWBY as the show, clearly Neon
RWBY as the team, Blake ("Ninjas of Love")
>Yang has but one arm
>Weiss has three
Emerald wins on the outfit, I think.
Emerald is hot. HOT!
what ships would piss you off?
pic completely unrelated
The only time I liked her as a big sister was in the first few episodes, where she ditched Ruby and tried to make her find another team in an attempt to force her to break out of her shell.
It went downhill the second she did a 180* on that position.
How does a hologram cut?
would be pretty bad but actually amuse me
So if Velvet have UBW, what would be Gate of Babylon?
fuck those entitled velvort shippers
Don't know, but apparently it cuts even better than the original
>Velvet's weapon summons forcefield weapons
>not clunky brass-and-wood replicas
I don't mind it a bit, because I thought it served nicely for "oh man, what does her secret shit do? Oh it does that" and as visual callbacks. It was also, of course, pretty blatantly corner cutting. But as corner cuts go, it was good.
>All this Enabler
>Why did the super paladin die out of nowhere.
The ship that crashed was transmitting the signal. When it was destroyed, the signal went out.
Velvet gets off on bullying, we've been over that
Atlas mothership crashed
I'm glad about the dearming but it happening with a single bullshit Iaido was dumb. But at least now Yang gotta develop.
Also, stumps are top tier
>All robots power down when the ship is destroyed cliche
Better question, why are Paladin prototypes designed for pilots but productions models don't have a cockpit and are completely autonomous?
Doesn't something as major as removing human input altogether require a complete design overhaul?
Please stay and grace us with more Pixy memes
>Roman comes back
>he now has an aversion to Grimm after being eaten like Alex becoming non-violent and sick around music after the aversion therapy in Clockwork Orange
At least it was established beforehand.
What you should be complaining about is autonomous Paladins since the entire point of the Paladins was specifically that "Some situations require a human touch". Publicly revealing that the Paladins are human operated to only then build autonomous versions in secret along with battle robots that look and behave like humans certainly give the impression that Ironwood was trying to take control of Remnant with an army which only he has the keys to.
I mean that or Velvet and Weiss actually just killed some innocent Atlesian soldiers who were trapped inside of hacked Paladins that have remote control functions as well as pilots.
Are the Grimm in Vale proper already? Is Junior cracking skulls with the twins?
>I ship Merc with Yang now
True patrician taste
>Here comes the snow.
>Those who survive a long time on the battlefield start to think they are invincible.
>I bet you do too, blondie.
>Can you see any kingdoms from here? What have kingdoms given us?
>We're going to start over from scratch. That's what Cinder's plan is for.
>It's not over, blondie. This is where it all starts. You know what I'm talking about, right?
>There is no mercy in battle. People live and people die. That's all there is to it.
>You're fired up? Come shoot me down.
>Too bad, blondie.
>This twisted leg needs to be reset.
>Let's start all over from zero with the Grimm and trust the future to the next generation.
>You and I are oppsosite sides of the same coin.
>When we face each other, we can finally see our true selves.
>Now we find out who's Number One.
>Fire away, coward!
Why didn't he just do as he was asked and STAND GUARD RIGHT THERE.
He was never asked to stand guard though. Just to watch the door.
He looked away for a second when he heard Pyrrha yell in pain which is understandable.
Imagine if Ozpin was raping Pyrrha and Jaune ignored her cries of pain as Ozpin just keeps telling him to watch the door. Then eventually Pyrrha starts getting into it and starts telling Jaune to watch the door as well as she doesn't want him watching the headmaster plowing her back door.
In short, at least we know Jaune isn't a cuck,
Did they mention getting her to do voice work for them was hard or something? The only thing I remember is Miles and Kerry mentioning how she did her lines perfectly in one go so they stalled to keep her around longer.
As if he could stall the Fall.
Hell team up with Neon and Nora to beat Cinder using sheer memeage.
It's a mystery.
Weren't we told that one of the characters is a half-Faunus?
Can someone photoshop adam's mask on him
>Starfish have a feeding method that is unlike any other. To eat, the echinoderm ejects its stomach from its own body -- placing it over the digestible parts of its prey, typically a mussel or clam. The stomach then partially digests what it can, producing a chowder-like slurry that is then drawn back into the starfishes' ten digestive glands.
>Be terminal levels of yangfag
>This whole fucking volume
I really fucking hope she gets some cool robot arm and gets some revenge because I fucking hate all these damn turbo edge villians.
Well, looking at real life to draw comparisons, I grew up in a town that was predominantly white, with there only being like three black students in my graduating class and one black teacher in the entire school district. So, it might just be a similar case here. There might just not be that many Faunus on Patch, especially given how oppressed Faunus are.
Hopefully in the next episode.
I know how you feel
Taiyang versus Adam would be better.
>tfw white fang scum hurt my precious yellow sun dragon
Yeah, a bit of happening is fine. Adds some good "oh shit" to the mix. But they just keep fucking achieving every little fucking thing they set out to do. It gets bit obnoxious, because a lot of it doesn't really seem all that interesting or clever, or is so particular it ends up feeling less like they accomplished it and more like the plot just had to go that way.
i want to
be there for Yang and never leave her side while shes in the hospital!
>How did Velvet fight if this was the first time using her weapon?
>first time using her weapon
Are you inbred?
Yang will lose one limb every volume until she turns out like pic related.
you should probably stop expecting a legitimate good reason for Adam and Velvet's actions, this is RWBY were talking about after all
>Taiyang right now
At RTX they said we will see his weapon/semblance before the end of the Volume...
I want to make fun of Yang for being reckless!
Hunters are superhuman, remember that Yang -a student- tanked a hit from said mech.
Additionally, Adam's Semblance is all about putting a huge amount of effort into a single strike by charging and absorption.
>Adam chases them to the docks
>Rounds a corner and shits his pants
Okay am I remembering incorrectly or did they say ages ago that they were planning weapon upgrades for this season? I swear someone asked if the characters were getting them and the response was "wait till you see what we have planned for volume 3."
Yes it is, Aura's entire point is to be an invincible forcefield until it breaks.
If it wasn't, then the entire concept of the tournament or sparring matches is retarded, because then people are risking major injuries with every fight.
Yes she did numbskull. She didn't have the scar in her fight with the Knight in the trailer.
Besides, the manga is canon.
It's possible that some classes aren't prereqs to one another, so she took some earlier/later than others.
Does Beacon work like that? Or is it like a high school where each year has a set curriculum?
Yes, I know it wasn't shown, but I'm fairly certain we were told she already had it, and it was agree that it was confusing for them to have done that and then make her bleed from the same spot.
But we have at least two cases (three if you count Coco's glasses since equipment counts as "conduit to Aura) where damage has bled through Aura. It has never been stated to be invincible.
And yes, they are at risk during sparring matches but that applies to all sports.
There's no such thing as "secondary canon". There's canon and non-canon, and that's it. This ain't the old Star Wars EU.
Besides with that logic none of the interviews or Q&As are canon either.
I recall someone asking where Weiss got her scar and the response was inconclusive.
It makes most sense just to play off the inconsistencies in the White trailer as animation errors and assume that she got her scar from the knight.
>That doesn't make any sense, how would the sword hit harder than him?
It's not hitting "harder" it's concentrating the impact onto a razor thin edge, hence why it's easier to cut a steak with a knife than with your fucking fingers.
We only have one case, Weiss, and that one is arguable because her Aura could already have been broken.
In that case though, Semblance might not be dependent on Aura... If Weiss's glyphs even actually count as a Semblance.
Penny's hands when she stopped the truck. Two cases.
And it's been confirmed that Aura fuels Semblances. Note how Emerald didn't finish at 100% even though she wasn't hit in her match against Coco.
Same for Weiss' glyphs, they are her Semblance. It's unreasonable to assume otherwise.
>"Semblance" is a term used to describe the projection of Aura into a more tangible form. For some this could be the ability to control objects with telekinesis. For others it could mean superhuman strength. The power associated with a wielder's Semblance is completely unique. With enough training and focus, a user's Aura can turn them into something much more than just a man.
No, she didn't. Are you stupid?
>all this arguing about her scar
At least we can all agree that Weiss is best girl.
She also has her scar here, right before the Knight attacks.
why would I want to post on /a/
let's make a few threads over there to clear up the misunderstanding
For fuck's sake she explicitly says that she "is capable of generating an Aura". Of course she has an Aura.
As for how it was breached, Pyrrha's pulse probably bricked her. Mercury mentioned how Penny and magnets wouldn't mix, which means that Pyrrha's Semblance was a threat to Penny specifically because she was a robot.
What is this, a Weiss for ants?
winning the day by ingenuity, tenacity and bravery against overwhelming odds is now jobbing?
oh great now the unwashed tumblr masses get to join the adam whining
It's been up for 24 hours what do you mean?
How stupid can you possibly be?
It starts off with Weiss singing in front of a huge audience, obviously long after the fight. She remembers it while singing, which is why they do that whole world-flipping transition. Then, at the end, she opens her eyes with no blood on her back in front of the audience, finishing the song.
I refuse to believe anyone is this dense.
>Pyrrha perfectly lined up to die, get soulfucked or vegetable
not sure about adam. I guess RWBY has enough cool pragmatical villains, but going full ex-husband stalker retard is not a good villain cliché
the only good thing he has going is being able to punch through aura (apparently), because that's threatening on another level
Because it makes sense to extrapolate shit happening completely differently with the same force.
There's just no evidence that Pyrrha's power did fucking anything to Penny other than immobilize her and throw her swords.
You aren't paying close enough attention. The ground is different at the recital and at the fight, she does close her eyes, but there's no transition from her opening them an starting to charge, the ground shown is the one that's there during the fight.
You missed everything Anon, I'm so sorry for you
I could slap a magnet right on top of my computer and nothing would happen. The fact that a small magnet did nothing means just that, a small magnet doesn't harm Penny. Otherwise she'd be at serious risk of death constantly.
>there is no evidence
Except for the line Mercury said.
It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever from any point of view to lie to Penny about her Aura.
Yes, there is. When the scene switches to the fight, it's in a completely different room and Weiss isn't facing an audience anymore. When it switches back at the end, she's back in a different place, on a stage in front of the audience again, and with no blood or open injuries on her.
The whole fight sequence was just a flashback juxtaposed against the song recital.
