Consider /trash/, a shitty home for a shitty general.
New thread, new time, so time for best timelord again.
Reminds me of the Father's Day episode. Rose was so sad in that one.
Now that Penny is dead Neo can be the one to give Ruby the love she deserves.
Oh yeah. That's gonna happen.
Can't wait to see Neo flaunt her victory of both sisters
Oh yeah, no, in reality Winter is not the rebellious sort. She was forged in the discipline of Atlas academy - she's a soldier through and through, but she decided to be a military specialist, rather than get a comfy job at SDC. She picks where her loyalties lie.
This is why I think Weiss didn't follow her sister into Atlas academy - Winter just wanted to live on her own as it were (living and dying on her own skill), Weiss has decided not to just shed the family legacy but to try and grow it and take it back from her dad.
The Big Thaw?
I just call them the Suncow and the Mooncow.
This would be shit and forced. She clearly has little regard for human life, considering she joked about killing Tukson, and she basically murdered Penny so none of the protagonists will forgive her without it being unsatisfying bullshit
I'd be fine with defection from Cinder though
for some reason I have this head canon that Winter
is still a virginfor some reason.
Clearly there are more places not shown because there are more characters in the show. This still puts Neptune in front of every other RWBY character except Roman. Like I said, second place.
Realistically? There is almost no way in hell.
I mean she could be, but it's unlikely. If it bothers you that she may have had sex then you're a little strange.
>Wants Ironwood's Iron Wood.
>Wears the Garter uniform and a push-up bra.
>Ironwood doesn't notice.
>He's pining for Glynda.
>Winter is the Pyrrha of her generation.
I'm aware that he's older by quite a bit but it fits.
She probably does want to fuck him. She was only agitated at Qrow until he starts insulting Ironwood, that's when she gets genuinely angry
Much better ship than WinterxQrow and deserves more attention that it won't get because Ironwood is such an underrated character
Doesn't Qrow have almost 20 years one Winter?
I imagine Winters in her 20's while Qrow is around 40
Also in terms of pairings, IronwoodxGlynda was around for a whole volume longer and has a little chemistry on both sides. I definitely get some ex-girlfriend vibes off Glynda with James.
Doing some very guerilla math, assuming Beacon is 4 years, they start at age 17, and Yang was born to TR right out of school, Qrow should be in his late 30s. But that relies on data we don't have for sure.
Why ask questions you already know the answer to?
Lord have mercy.
I'm still thinking creative differences over RWBY.
The last preview didn't come out until like the middle of the night EST. Shane worked just as hard as Monty and is probably the reason why everything came out when it was supposed to.
So? If anything RWBY's lack of major deaths have shown there's even less reason to think that way.
Me too. I can see people wanting to take different directions now that Monty's gone. Shane included.
>The last preview didn't come out until like the middle of the night EST. Shane worked just as hard as Monty and is probably the reason why everything came out when it was supposed to.
None of what you said makes any sense. V3 is finished, they're done animating and editing it.
>probably the reason why everything came out when it was supposed to.
But they announced a few weeks ago that they'd completely wrapped up production on volume 3, so everything should be already finished and just awaiting release
Reminder that RT's rigs did not support that animation, yet Dillon did it anyway.
Beforehand he was an idiot who played directly into the enemies hands and frightened the populace with a massive armada.
Every death (and there's no way for them to have no civilian deaths at this point, the airships already went down) Caused by the Grimm and the Order 66 robots is HIS fault. Because he wasn't satisfied with being patient and subtle, he allowed the enemy to hijack his own forces and kill dozens if not HUNDREDS, (dunno how big airhip crews are) of his own soldiers. Not to mention the civilian casualties.
He gets bonus points for being a stone-cold badass with top-tier combat skills and a total lack of hesitation or fear, but he's still been a fuckup since day one.
Because of her cocky smile. That's honestly all it takes when your other options are girl who likes cookies and guns, and girl with a hyperactive disorder
>Every death (and there's no way for them to have no civilian deaths at this point, the airships already went down) Caused by the Grimm and the Order 66 robots is HIS fault
Actually it's Cinder's fault
The foundation of Cinder's plan revolved around Ironwood bringing an army. If he'd just stuck to protocol and NOT brought a massive armed force to Vale, countless people would still be alive.
Ozpin Qrow and Glynda ALL call him on this, and yet he's so utterly convinced he's right he refuses to listen.
He's so incompetent there were theories he was HELPING the villains.
But it seems that him brining the armada was all part of the plan as well, and something tells me that having a robot armada was a plan put forward by Cinders associate in Atlus.
Tukson was a traitor. Penny was a robot.
It's another thing to help Grimm slaughter thousands of innocent civilians.
We saw her talk to some people during the flashback episode, I see no reason why this operation would be done by one person alone in one country. No she has associate in Atlas or whatever country Ironwood is from
True, but I think this is a failure of everybody to understand the scope of Cinder. If it was just the White Fang or Grimm element, or both, Atlas' military forces would have been a huge boon. And were, actually, see Breach. Ozpin was very right, but Ironwood couldn't necessarily have guessed that. If he thought this shit was possible, I am dead certain he'd have done something different.
Well, the paladin prototypes came from somewhere. I'm pretty sure they weren't just on a train to Vale like all that dust they stole. And Roman has been in Vale the whole time, or so he seemed to indicate "stealing every scrap of dust in the kingdom". Considering her plan seems to involve setting Vale and Atlas at odds, a counterpart in Atlas wouldn't be unheard of.
The foundation of Cinder's plan involves creating a massive Grimm attack so that people are distracted enough for her to get to Amber, every thing else is either a side-effect or just something that she's added as she goes along
Cinder is the best kind of planner, not because of her Light levels of keikaku bullshit, but because every time her plans bump into an asset, she takes it, or makes a note of how to use it for later. She doesn't stick to just the singular plot, she keeps adjusting.
They originally were going to show Tukson's blood splattered across the window but they thought it was a bit too much
Didn't Winter say that the paladin prototypes were stolen from a shipment to Vale?
>Penny was a robot
A robot with a soul you monster!
Come to think of it, the whole pinocchio story brings up a lot of questions about morality and scientific taboos. Too bad we'll never see that fleshed out.
I didn't recall. If they were, that's some suspicious levels of undersight by Atlas or SDC, shipping non-production models out when Ironwood demonstrates he can run their version of a TED Talk via hologram to show them off.
I would love to destroy her plans by spilling tea on Beacons communications thingy.
Seriously though she has uncommonly good luck and no matter how well she plans it there will always be a overwhelming chance that the plan will fuck up in some way.
Robot's has a reboot bottom and backups. She is fine
Well, if Cinder is based on Cinderella, the moral of that story is kind of twofold, that gifted people shine through and you're worthless without a proper guiding figure (a godparent). Cinderella is pretty, smart, kind, etc - but circumstances are poor for her until her godmother swoops in and lets her really excel.
One presumes Cinder is similar, she really is a talented, smart, pretty woman who would never have gotten this far unless somebody else set her on this path.
I suppose you're right. Still, she should have fucked at least one aspect of the plan up by now.
While Cinderellaa needed a good guiding figure she did the rest on her own, while Cinder seemingly has a supirior. The only part of the plan that seems to have gone wrong in some way was Qrow interrupting the power stealing.
But that wasn't even a setback unless what she's doing now is because she needs the full power of the maiden for phase 2 proper.
I need more Cinder pictures too.
Well, it depends on what she's actually after. If this is all to get Amber's power, then the plan comes at the cost of shitloads of collateral.
If she is actually trying to start some long-term shit, Ruby (of all people) already spotted the thread. She'll probably get more evidence on the airship - not counting anything else which might come up, so long-term impact of Cinder's plans might fall short. This would make sense for an ongoing story, Cinder knocks out objectives A-C, but can't push it far enough to accomplish D, then both protagonists and antagonists basically have an ongoing conflict they need to resolve which will only get more complex for Cinder's faction as heroes keep poking it. This of course, assumes that Cinder's not going to just fuck it up at the end and bite off more than she can chew or something. Girl is hella overconfident, and it only takes one lucky scrub to ruin your day.
>People actually think that Ruby stands a chance against Neo this Saturday
Her overconfidence will be her undoing I agree but she'll accomplish all of her objectives because non of the adults seem to have their shit together. Ruby and Jaune will have a reason to go after her but Cinder will treat them like flies and likely not bother with them.
Ideally Cinder over or under estimates them and they blind-side her with something so simple. That said I want them to remove the nebulous plan because it can quickly make a plot get overly complicated too quickly.

Em's admiring dat booty
She stands more of a chance than Yang because of her quicker, less predictable fighting style.
I don't want her to lose badly to Neo, because that would just be a lazy repeat of last volume's Neo fight, so I want her to either get narrowly defeated and captured or somehow defeat Neo without it necessarily consisting of Neo jobbing (i.e. Ruby knocks her of the ship)
I almost wish Neo had taken Yang's little scarf and wore it like a trophy, taunting Ruby by sniffing it and smiling, waving at her cutely before begging her to come and get it with a come hither finger pull
TKO or Draw would probably be the best. Yang is obviously stronger than Ruby, but Neo isn't necessarily "stronger" than Yang, her fighting style just makes her very effective at fighting Yang.
The Dragon could fly up and stop the fight too, Grimm don't really give a fuck about sides normally.
It'd be really metal if Neo and Ruby are fighting, then Grimm spawn on the airship and they have to switch between fighting each other and fighting Grimm
>super speed vs weak end illsuions
>Middle ranged combat style offensive vs close ranged and what seems to be an defence style
Na Ruby has it
that cute little ring around her ankle
Her leegs to be inside a pair of black stockings this instance.
>Weak end illusions
Do we even know what her real power is? She could possibly see every move that her opponent is about to make. Also she seems to have enough power in her attacks to throw Yang against the ceiling and knock her out cold.
>Neo and Ruby fight each other to a standstill then reverse to fight back to back with a couple of pointed attacks at the other in there
>Roman bursts out of a door and is like "scarper"
>Neo blows Ruby a kiss before mary poppins' away
I'd pay to see it.
Ruby has an edge with speed but Neo has her glass illusions.
Bottom line is that Ruby will likely lose and being to feel worthless as a huntress-in-training. She will get a character src next volume and will be the actual protagonist of the story... right?
Cinder's legs are Monty's gift to the world.
>Cinder's legs are Monty's gift to the world.
Monty was the hero we deserved.
How else are you supposed to know her knickers are on the floor and she's ready?
Is she supposed to tell you? Get your head in the game of seduction anon.
Monty was a hero! The Double Dubs confirm.
We saw her power in the first episode she was in, remember when Yang charged forward and hit a "mirror"? what was that if not Neo's powers.
>Also she seems to have enough power in her attacks to throw Yang against the ceiling and knock her out cold.
>Not knowing of martial arts that uses the opponents powers against them
She needs to learn from Palutena in how to show them legs
I need pictures, pictures of Cinder giving a dominating footjob while having black stockings and no heel on one leg while having no stocking and a heel on the other. I should get Legoman to do it.
Pit is worthless if not controlled by a player character.
If you kill Pit, Pitto also dies (presumably) and Viridi probably doesn't give a shit.
You may have to do that, but isn't it worth it?
don't forget dark pit
Shit man I dunno
Posted some Cinder starting at >>>/aco/361121
Android/human romance always have been one of my interests, i hope that wasn't the last of penny.
Soo to be canon image.
Pit would actually be a tough opponent then. I mean isn't he basically Palutena's army by himself?
We had an episode last week, we are not getting an episode this week and previews are up the same week as the episode. So next week anon.
Bayonetta has plenty of work that needs to be done
I remember playing Phantasy Star Online for the first time.
Robot chicks have always been a favorite of mine since. I am disapointed that I will not get to play PSO2.
Although if anybody gets to date Penny I'd hope it's a cyborg to be honest.
But Pitto has a self-preservation instinct, no Pit no Pitto so he wouldn't go for it.
Neo's skin in that picture is Kratos tier
Jesus that picture.
Well I don't know that, thought the series has a one episode per two week format.
Wait what last two? We are already done with season 3?
>We had an episode last week, we are not getting an episode this week and previews are up the same week as the episode. So next week anon.
You're fucking retarded, love the steamchat.
No idea - only seen it here. There's some kind of animator who has an animation set up for models
>Emerald and Pyrrha hook up for pity sex
>They each think they're doing it to help the other but they're both equally pathetic.
>Tribbing and making out while crying
>Not even remotely sexy
>Cum, cuddle and cry some more
>people should never take a break from work
You know that the RWBY department like, lives and sleeps at RT when they're in crunch, right? They can take a couple weeks off before working on Vol 4 scripts and pre-production.
Is it me
Or does Ironwood looks like Iroh from Legend of Korra
Holy hell the thickness. That Redfred?
>that wide shot of all those fucking characters at the hanger
A 4 month break is needed? I think they said they will begin writing in March.
It's not my problem that they don't have enough manpower and resources to keep up. Hire more people and increase production rate.
It was better that he didn't get to see Episode 7
EU is better than Disney's version
I really need to play Kid Icarus. After I found out how cute and mischievous Palutena was she became quite the blip on my radar. Between her and Bayonetta, they should be calling it
/SS/uper /SS/mash Bros.
>It's not even sexual between Cinder and Jaune.
>Platonic as platonic gets.
>Jaune is nice and Cinder wants to corrupt him.
>They get along almost too well.
>Jaune revales that one of his sisters look like Cinder.
>Relationship becomes more sibling like day by day.
>Monty never got to see star wars
I going to need to sign a permission slip for that feels trip.
Well, Kerry jokes he's getting a couple week break before he has to start working on RWBY again during the first RT Anime sponsor cast, so they're not really taking a 4 month break. There's also a season of RVB and a couple other projects launching too, that takes cash and uses up some resources. There might be a new season of X-Ray and Vav in there somewhere too, that's also the Animation department, RT isn't quite big enough to employ people to make RWBY all year round yet, nor do I think they should necessarily have to.
>yfw he almost certainly Oumed her in this outfit.
IIRC, Miles or Kerry posted a twitter in summer about only having written 3 episodes...
I understand that Monty's death was a setback for them, both production wise and they needed some time to mourn. But even with all their workers working nonstop and take shortcuts, it still takes ages for them to create 12 episodes with quality that jumps between bad and average.
Well, the popularity of RWBY is growing a lot. When the demand is rising you need to increase the supply. Waiting another 8-9 months, maybe 10 is not going to sit well with a lot of fans.
I personally don't care about RvB and X-Ray, so I would like to see the resources from there go to RWBY. But I know it won't happen because I know those two are popular too.
>Not caring about RvB
H-have you ever watched it? RWBY pales in comparison. Aside from not having cute waifus RVB triumphs in everything else.
Guess she was just stuck in Cinder character.
Although I'd prefer her in Oob-Mode
I can't get into RvB either. It doesn't amuse me at all.
>I personally don't care about RvB and X-Ray
Well I'm kind of indifferent to X&V myself, but RvB has been going strong for nearly 14 years now, it is their flagship product so that ain't gonna stop. At least season 14 will be an anthology from many writers and directors, so while some of it is in house other elements will be made elsewhere. There are also people I'm sure who would like RT to drop RWBY like a hot potato and make more RvB all the time.
But something to remember is that RWBY benefits from other productions, a lot of animators now on RWBY came from working on RvB and X&V and that's how you're getting some of that quality improvement in the show. The problem is that since it's the whole animation department now that makes it harder to split them back up, but at the same time RT probably would never have extra 2D animators or other styles of 3D animators lying around to pull in.
Never make that mistake anon.
Dude HALO LMAO! DUDE! DICK JOKES! LMAO!
Seems to be a bit of a trend with cosplayers, but hey, I'm not looking at pictures of her personality.
I don't see how they could make this work out if you're serious. Isn't Felix dead?
CT did literally nothing wrong. Worst girl was that shitty 'XD quirky psycho' doctor that Miles added in for his gf to replace Doc. Hopefully she'll be gone now that Arryn's fucked off to do porn
>"Do you want this open or closed?"
So, what do we think the in-universe timetable was between V2 and V3?
A few weeks?
Four weeks for the term?
It was mentioned that the work experience is basically the equivalent to a test wasn't it?
I mean it's an end of the current school term test almost so it can't be more than four weeks.
Yeah I've heard about that guy, and I occasionally lurk the dirt threads on /cgl/ so you catch certain tidbits. I don't mind it there, but 4chan was the last place I'd expected to see catfights and that "high school bitchy girls' table" vibe.
I'm really eager to see some of the new characters get cosplayed. We've had some interesting aesthetics this season.
Bun in Pigtails. I can't even handle it.
I can tolerate that much more than Jaunedice. When I got to those episodes, I just had to stop watching for several months. It took quite a bit of cajoling from a buddy of mine to keep watching anyways, saying it gets better. Those episodes almost killed RWBY for me. I can imagine that it actually did kill it for some other people.
Breach by far. The prom was awful, but from the moment they mentioned "dance" and started to put an emphasis on romance, I was not expecting anything good out of it.
Breach on the other hand is the worst because the previous few episodes where actually getting good, so seeing something like Breach is just depressing.
Your welcome to post some.
>Tfw when your state is a qt Badass Robutt
That's what happens when keeps eating so much ice cream.
Well never see this cutie in twin tails again.
>Not having his waifus emblem tattood on his fap hand
What are you some kind of normie?
I just can't get into it no matter how many times I try. RWBY is pretty much the only RT thing that grabs me, and it's pretty different from anything else RT puts out.
Eh, regardless of what jokes there were, I wasn't really laughing.
I was wrong on both expectations I figured qrow would look like some crazed mountain man like in my pic mostly because I thought it would be funny to see a guy like that train a adorable little girl like ruby.
Does RT even really care about RWBY other than because it happened to be successful? I thought they just let Monty make it because he worked on RvB before so they let him take up a pet project, and that happened to balloon into something far beyond their expectations but they still don't like the idea of being a company that puts out anime-like content. Their slogan thing under their logo for each episode is still "comedy, gaming, community" so it feels like they're just treating RWBY as an isolated phenomena that they can happen to make some money off of, rather than accepting the idea of that subculture with open arms.
I don't care if they're "accepting" it or not. They're making it, so I watch it. The only time I'll care about if they're embracing its community is if there's much presence of it at cons, which I think there is. I'd never bother with RT or RTX if it were just games and RvB stuff. I don't get much enjoyment out of video games anymore, and I was never really big on gaming's culture(s).
Look the first 5 seasons can be kinda dull but it's has humor, like RWBY every character has a running gage, if you're looking for the really good stuff it comes after the blood gulch chronicles but it's still necessary, give it another shot after this volume of RWBY is over. And be patience and pay attention to what the characters say, you'll surprised how the show is well structured.
IM IN LOVE WITH THE COCO
I dunno I just feel like some of the production value is so half-assed and they could really make it a true flagship instead of just a big draw. I sometimes wonder if RWBY could become better as a series if they sold it off to someone with the resources and passion to really focus on it wholeheartedly. What we have now is okay I guess, but it could be so much better.
Meh. I might, but I've got like 15 other shows to watch. I'll fully acknowledge that there's probably plenty of likable stuff in RvB, but I've gotten along just fine in my life being completely un-RvBed. Also:
>Look the first 5 seasons can be kinda dull but it's has humor
Oh god, the only thing I DO know for sure about RvB is that you better worship Blood Gulch Chronicles. Hide, anon.
I can understand if you don't like the Blood Gultch Chronicles. People have different tastes.
But if you genuinely believe that shit showing of a Freelancer saga is good you're entering the realm of having objectively shit taste.
only partially right, it's an old meme that derived from this image that made smart asses go "what is olev?"
well that is strange, not what I was posting at all. I don't even have that image or read any of that stuff. let's try an alternate version.
Holy shit, I never saw the new updates. Those are gold.
>Oh god, the only thing I DO know for sure about RvB is that you better worship Blood Gulch Chronicles. Hide, anon.
And for the life of me I don't know why 1-5 was good as a stupid comedy series but as an actual series with a story, characters, consequences etc. 6-present are great.
I agree. The thing is, pretty much all canon ships are friendly or platonic... except Arkos! Arkos is the closest to become canon. And the way things are going, this will happen this weekend or the next. Pyrrha confessing to Jaune seems inevitable.
Only three things can stop it. Pyrrha or Jaune dies (very unlikely), or Pyrrha decides it's best they are friend, which is also very unlikely.
I don't want any romancing, shipping, dating, cuddling in the show. Let the fandom handle that with fanart and fanfics. The show is already messy enough as it is. Wasting screentime for characters romancing and dating would be shitty. Imagine the characters kissing each other, all that clipping.
He already let his 3D waifu go. His 2D will be safe forever.
> consequences etc. 6-present are great.
I really don't understand why so many people on RWBYG like those seasons.
There was a significant drop in quality as the head writer was swapped out and pointless actions scenes with horrible rock music were thrown in for no reason.
She'll become Amber for a while. Pyrrha will be dormant as Amber's now more violent and hate-filled side takes control, and it will awaken when Jaune tries to sacrifice himself for her sake, she'll come back and drive Amber's consciousness to where she was as a backseat to save her beloved
Or it's normally Pyrrha, but in stressful situations Amber will take over and go full maiden on whoever did it, and Pyrrha will have to fight to take back control
Why hello anon, welcome back to the real world. As you can see /RWBYg/ is still here and so are you.
Akros seems like the one they're pushing which in unfortunate.
The thing I have against romance is that it tends to reduce two characters into a pairing, that there is very little to them outside of them being in a romance with another character. That's part of the reason why I like the idea of RWBY being more of an ensemble cast, because I like it when characters know other characters outside their group, I want to see various mixes and matches of interactions with different characters, and romance would just not let that work, and would in fact just be a detriment because there would come the inevitable break up.
I won't completely rule out the possibility of Pyrrha dying, but I still find it very unlikely. She's like one of the 6 major characters from RWBY and JP (I don't include Ren and Nora for reasons). Penny died only a few weeks ago (but she will likely return to some degree).
Still, we do need our Phyrric victory. Pyrrha saves Beacon, but dies doing so? Or, she saves Beacon, gets her powers stolen, Jaune saves her, and becomes hospitalized. Still, that does not stop Arkos from becoming true.
Jaune will cradle a wounded Pyrrha, and his semblance will be fully activated by a kiss. His semblance will be Rogue Power Absorption and use her powers to Magneto both of their shields and weapons into combo gauntlets, and Berserker Barrage waves of Grimm in a bloodlust rage until he carves his way to Cinder
>The thing I have against romance is that it tends to reduce two characters into a pairing, that there is very little to them outside of them being in a romance with another character.
That has already happened, sort of. I didn't like in volume 1 and 2 that most of Pyrrha's scenes were with Jaune. It's the same in volume 3. It's Jaune and Pyrrha. I wanted to see her hang out with other characters. I want more friendly interactions with RWBY and JNPR. For example, let Pyrrha have some girltalk with Nora, or let the stoic Ren talk to the excited Yang. Ren and Nora are pretty much only comedy relief. They are a 2-in-1 character. You can't have one without the other.
>This skinny old guy just starts man-handling a bear monster with one arm.
>Weapon cases falling from the sky and crushing a giant bird
>The Blake and Adam scene
>Robot soldiers not immediately shooting Blake and Weiss while they're lying on the ground
I forgot how anime this show was
>This skinny old guy just starts man-handling a bear monster with one arm.
Ironwood's buff as fuck and has a robot arm
>Weapon cases falling from the sky and crushing a giant bird
It got right back up
What did she do that was edgy?
>What did she do that was edgy
It was the scene where she was on the rooftop talking to mercury as he broadcasted the invasion
She was talking about how beautiful the chaos was or something
I'm never going to stop saying this, but I would have simply loved it if RWBY had started out with a slower pace, and spent more time on character interaction and dumb, nonsense adventures. Turn the first half of V1 into a volume of its own, and leaving room for some early RvB humor with a RWBY setting and tone.
The whole Jaune liking Weiss thing was sort of a low point even for him.
Yes Jaune has much to learn but the fact that he acted even more dumber than in volume 1 is sort of ridiculous, he should have developed somewhat after the bully arc.
>it's almost sad
>>keep the broadcast going, and focus on the Atlesian paladins
She's not written edgy, she's written evil. She's showing the entire world how powerless the people in power are at protecting them
In doing so, she's creating a fear, and the pleas for help will be answered by a new power that will come in and save the day, thus taking away the power of those currently tasked to defend the world
I need Emerald fawning over Cinder. Pics and green are much appreciated.
Weiss is a pretty low waifu.
But that's just because I can't stand characters like her.
Pyrrha didn't miss, and she wasn't even aiming at her that well
Volume 1: above total trash but slightly below mediocre, good waifus, and some pretty interesting concepts and designs. Also some pretty good fight scenes
Volume 2: General improvement over first season, but the fights aren't as good. The first season was mediocre with some ups and downs, but this season is more like a flat line that lies slightly higher than the first season.
Still good waifus though, and interesting concepts.
Also the worst final episode of all time.
Volume 3: Huge improvement over the other volumes, except for the fight scenes that generally suffered. Not finished yet but ti's pretty much guaranteed to be better than the other 2 volumes.
The feeling most have when watching this is pic related. Only way you can see if you'll get it too is to try a few episodes, don't forget to watch the trailers.
I know it's shit (although steadily growing to be actually pretty ok), but I somehow derive massive enjoyment from it. Definitely don't regret getting into the show.
I'd agree with this overall aside from one thing.
I'd say the first 5 episodes of Volume 3 were far worse than anything from the previous two Volumes except for The Breach. But everything after episode 5 in Volume 3 has been better than the previous two Volumes.
It happens sometimes, but it could have been worse.
this one's a little further than just fawning
and there's another one here
I liked the RWBY vs Paladin Roman scene, not necessarily because the fight choreography was "better" but because it was an interesting concept. I wish we had more like that instead of mostly just flashy 1v1 bouts.
Just seeing Jaundice and the resulting plot arc is cringe worthy. It's the worst part of the series, imo, because it delves into FULL ON cliche and done POORLY at that. The only saving grace is that it only lasted so long.
They do need to work on the choreography though, it's really been suffering this volume apart from the Merc vs Yang fight (done by Monty) and the Dillon choreographed fights (EM vs CY and students vs Nevermore)
>am a devoted niners fan and regular /sp/ poster
>was there in that thread right when it happened
that only looks like a repost though, when it was just falseflagging instead. the entire 2013 season was terrible because the 49ers and Seahawks fanbases were both flooded with stupid shit being flung everywhere and the media hyping their "rivalry" to a nonsensical scale. so you got tons of people making them look bad anonymously because they were easy targets, the whole image swap thing was just a convenient excuse. people still fell for it anyways.
Merc going HAM on Coco/Yatsu was my favorite thing so far this season in terms of choreography, but it also feels ripped straight out of Dead or Alive, which makes me think that Monty had some influence from beyond the grave or something.
I find that fights are usually most engaging when there's something at stake that the audience is aware of and cares about.
Even if the fighting itself is lackluster, some of the origonal SW fights ( duels and dogfights) had build up to them. That's what made them memorable, not the glowstickswords and spacenazis.
Pretty hard to be engaged in fights meant to be comedic/ lighthearted, so they'd actually have to make them gud.
Don't remind me.
I'm still fucking mad that team CRDL has been turned into nothing but plot devices and jokes because of it.
Racist bullies with redeeming qualities would have been a very interesting concept.
I mean, gray people instead of black and white is always interesting, and when it's done with racist bullies in a high school setting it would actually be pretty damn original.
There was actual fucking potential there, but they blew it so damn hard. That's what I'm most mad about, how they fucked up that chance.
Scarlet was the high point of the fight and the only SSSN member I'm interested in
However I can't decide if it was 2 or 5 that was the low point of the volume for me,
but I'm praying that I won't be calling the finale the low point in a few weeks
Hopefully, yes. I would love to see her return in more of an active role with weapons and semblance
Dillon is Monty incarnate
>Ironwood slamming the Beowulf shouldn't actually have been possible with the rigs they were used
>He did it anyway
Monty was a wizard at choreography. They just talked about this on the RT podcast post-show, like how he would watch fight scenes all the time and he could watch one once and pick apart tiny details. That's probably the biggest loss in terms of him as director and animator - but Monty had his own weaknesses because he would just do fights for fights' sake. Or the script would be "and monty makes something up for 5 minutes". He was good, but there was too much letting him just vomit creativity out.
I agree with that point, but about Sun more than anyone else. He was introduced as a morally ambiguous character with a penchant to FUCK THE LAW but still have a heart of gold anyways. Now he just seems to be another regular dude, and his character has become more bland for it.
Exactly, he's the reason we got Breach
I guarantee if he was alive to do the Nevermore fight in the stadium, it would have been much longer and more visually impressive but yet much worse in terms of how much of a threat the Nevermore seemed
Case in point: The infamous dance.
Monty wanted to make a dance scene and a fight scene which would also reveal the virus on the CCT.
Miles and Kerry had to come up with a good excuse of how that would happen.
Season 3 Weiss has been a pretty dull fighter to watch, she's basically just a p[rimary spellcaster with some sword skills now and then, rather than before where she felt like a fencer that happened to know some magic. I heard that Monty was the only one who knew anything about fencing so that's why she was able to have that kind of feel, so she got turned into a boring dustmage as a result post-Monty.
And the result was the virus being really confusingly executed, with no one really realising what it was until episode 3 of this volume, and that was only the dedicated fans that even remembered about it

This is Rooster Teeth though.
It felt to me more like
>Man that was too easy
>I thought they'd put up a better fight against a basic trick like that
>Guess I'll just focus on the big guy then, this will be a piece of cake
I swear from what I heard those are some sweet words:
>I'm the one.
>I was born in a nightmare; A mayhem outside
>I'm no gun.
>But I'm bleeding and maimed; A broken mirror
>I'm no more.
>I'll tell you something: Was loved by no one.
And in a sense, this is a failure on Monty. He was really good on his own, and he probably pretty good at walking people through his ideas, but he wasn't great at passing on his actual knowledge. Shane had his style and his ethic okay, and kinda same with Dillon but they just don't know the same stuff Monty did. I mean, fuck, he worked himself to the bone all the time, even if he hadn't died what would they have done if like, monty got really ill or broke some bones or something?
Besides he probably would have still tried to work, I mean.
Coco is literally useless against Merc: He's too fast to shoot and the briefcase is an atrocious melee weapon. All he had to was wait for Em to pick her off and the fight was theirs
