Ruby is more interested on weapons and being a huntress than in boys, but she loves everyone. Then again, she is a kid, probably hasn't been interested on anyone yet.
Yang seems interested on guys, she said Sun has nice abs and that Scarlet doesn't look bad at all. But she cares more about being a huntress that having a relationship too.

Using big words like rumination or encumbered doesn't necessarily make a story good.

First off, there's a reason these words are big. It's because they have specific nuances which tell you when they should be used. Asked is to..well ask. It's very general. Inquire is for asking specific information. You can inquire about where something is.

Second, it doesn't work if you just randomly drop them as it breaks the flow of the reader. if most of the story has simple words, then they stick out.

Lastly, is English your first language?

I'm not even halfway done and I could already feel the long journey ahead.

I've had this idea for an origin for both the Grimm and all of remnant for a fanfic I'm trying to get done.
The way it goes is that in the beginning, there were two sets of gods.

the first set were the sisters Gaia.
One was the embodiment of nature's beauty and kindness, the love of a mother, the gentle breeze in your hair and the sweetness of ripe fruit. She made the Faunus.
The other was the embodiment of science and knowledge, the reason of man, the building that protects from the rain and the fire that cooks your meat. She made man.
Like many siblings they fought, accusing the other of ripping off each other's idea for a creation. This conflict was reflected by the beings they had made, leading to the racism in the modern day.

The second set were the brothers Grimm
One was the embodiment of nature's wrath and brutality, the ruthless of a predator, the rage of a storm and the rot of disease. He made the beasts, cruel parodies of the real animals of remnant
The other was the embodiment of science and knowledge of a different sort, the cunning of a killer, the trap that ruins a leg and the blade between your ribs. He made the shadows, the beings that lure you into the darkness with promises of power and knowledge if you just let them in.
