Rusty somehow managed to not fuck up at two really important things in season 5. I was really expecting that ray shield to be the thing that killed JJ, but no, apparently it's just because JJ basically is a teratoma to begin with. And JJ makes some pretty good points about how Rusty has a family, some friends, and control over his own business, and those are things a lot of people don't have. So things are going suspiciously well for Rusty right now and could probably stand to take a downturn.
