A brand new season of Samurai Jack is being made for Adult Swim Toonami. Coming in 2016.
Last weeks ratings were in the gutter, but there's no sense panicking over one off week. Looking at this weeks numbers, there are improvements here and there but things are still kind of shitty. Parasyte appears to be losing its viewer base, and Champloo is still struggling to find and audience. The biggest loser of the night though is the massive 400k drop from DBZ going into AgK. Good thing AgK is nearly over.
12:00a Dragon Ball Z Kai 1449 0.68 867
12:30a Akame Ga Kill 1063 0.47 596
1:00a Parasyte 886 0.40 507
1:30a Samurai Champloo 788 0.37 468
2:00a Naruto: Shippuden 729 0.33 420
2:30a One Piece 645 0.29 368
3:00a Kill La Kill (r) 633 0.31 398
The DBZ rerun touches Oblongs tier shit ratings this week
8:00 Dragon Ball Z Kai (r) 0.34 597 0.19
8:30 King of the Hill (r) 0.33 522 0.19
9:00 King of the Hill (r) 0.46 767 0.31
9:30 The Cleveland Show (r) 0.58 884 0.37
10:00 The Cleveland Show (r) 0.76 1249 0.52
10:30 American Dad (r) 0.90 1434 0.62
11:00 Family Guy (r) 1729 0.80
11:30 Family Guy (r) 1891 0.86
And One Piece and KLK get beaten by all the comedy reruns
3:30a The Cleveland Show (r) 673 0.36
4:00a The Cleveland Show (r) 693 0.37
4:30a American Dad (r) 733 0.38
5:00a King of the Hill (r) 687 0.35
5:30a King of the Hill (r) 686 0.35
>the drop between AgK and Parasyte
Last ep of AgK has been bothering since Saturday, it is probably true in almost all animes but explosions on AgK do nothing...this is the second time nuclear size explosion happen and nobody gets killed, big rocks and blades kill everybody on that show but a giant bomb does nothing, just saying.
>in short just wanted the pink haired bitch to die.
So it looks like even movies that are a guaranteed success aren't going to happen
WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE THE THREAD TUESDAY
Alright, I got a list of potential shows that can take One Piece's slot for Saturday.
>Spice and Wolf
>Full Metal Alchemist (2003)
>Tiger & Bunny
>The Big O Season 1
>D Gray Man
>Dragon Ball GT
Anyone else can suggest more.
At this point i've grown to expect disappointment from Demarco. All i can do now is watch him fuck everything up slowly.
Look I'm all for shitting on One Piece, but this list is fucking terrible.
Worse ratings guaranteed
>Megas and Young Justice
Writes written off for good
Not action at all and confirmed by Demarco never to air on Toonami
AS doesn't want their shows associated with Toonami
This whole thing was bait and I took it, huh?
The well has run dry once more and I'm very thirsty.
reruns won't work, it'll just make the last hour do worse. you can also forget about any bandai property as well, unless they've finally figured out the rights mess they were in.
People have shit taste, news at 11.
>Not reading the manga
>Watching anything other than the superior
Maybe we should learn to art and make our own? Pic not related.
Hey Demarco, streaming is way better than Toonami, why bother?
>well you see young lad, the TV isn't dead yet! It's just getting started!
>people hate repetitive programming, that's why we put on Champloo and marathons!
>people hate not having a choice, that's why every show on Toonami is what I want, not the viewers
>it still works if presented with care, that's why we dropped the banter and now next later bumps!
I honest feel like he is legitimately blind to what is actually happening
That doesn't mean we can it. Rating don't mean shit. People just can't appreciate a good series like One Piece. By that logic, Naruto is amazing due to its ratings.
With Kai, GT is redundant. Now if it were Z...
The thing with op and narrow is that showing one episode per week is bad, we have 2 shows in filler lingo, nobody likes to watch filler. I want to say that those 2 shows are perfect background noise though.
A million people eating shit doesn't make it any more appealing to do so.
Thank you, 4Kids.
That's why they're keeping it in the graveyard shift, rather than outright cut it. One Piece has a stigma for being different, and 4Kids killed any chance of it growing when the time was right.
The anime and filler arcs are shit, granted. Two episodes would be ideal, but they're already strung for time as is.
>A million people eating shit doesn't make it any more appealing to do so.
no, but it means you can sell shit to those people, which is the entire point of TV you fucking moron. if your time slot has no viewers, you don't get anyone buying commercial time and then you don't have any fucking money.
In that case, they have no standards if they're actively looking to get shit for people to consume just for ratings. Quality over quantity. And you CAN have quality and get a multitude of people to tune in.
Guys, let's not start the "Remove One Piece" argument again. That was the reason why last week's ratings thread hit the bump limit within less than a day and we ultimately got nowhere in the discussion.
As someone who cut the cable and went full Hulu/Netflix/ToonamiAFT streaming I have not had any regrets in the matter.
Anything new that I might miss out (which may be one or two shows) I can immediately download once a rip is out. I do not miss Cable, nor do I miss Current Toonami.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you think something is a paragon of story telling, if it isn't pulling in viewers you cut it and find something that will pull in viewers. Your concept of "quality" doesn't mean anything if people don't fucking watch.
Personally I'd say get rid of Naruto, One Piece, and the Rerun slot. Anyone that actually cares about any of the shit there has already seen all of it any way.
While I agree, it doesn't change the fact that Demarco actively protects the series from being pulled. The only way for it to get cut is for the ratings to do even worse and the higher ups force it off. Not worth killing the thread over
The lack of flashback ragyo art is a whole new level of criminality.
>removes everything cool from the show
>everyone watches it anyway
Nah I think he's pretty with it
I won't deny her lack of depth as a character but my dick knows what it wants.
I can't sway you. I hope you enjoy your Waifu, whom ever they may be.
>liking cum dumpsters
What do you guys think of CN and Toonami at this point?
Me, I'd personally say they're not as good as they were 11-20 years ago - but not as bad as they were 10 years ago (aka 2006):
>Crossover bumpers in the CGI city were gone
>Shows such as Cow and Chicken, Time Squad, Looney Tunes were removed.
>Jim Samples went senile.
>CN aired the Re-animated movie.
>Saved by the Bell ran on Adult swim for April Fools'.
>Commercials with terrible characters like Fred Fred Burger and Cheese were spammed to appeal to middle schoolers.
>Inuyasha, Teen titans, Justice league unlimited, and other comfy shows ended, severing all ties with the early 00s.
>Last DBZ movie until 2014 aired on television.
>CN really pushed that Ben 10 shit, even though nobody liked it.
>Adult Swim stopped the chill Japan bumpers and replaced them with clips of their characters doing wacky/lolrandom things.
Isn't it sad that 20somethings get nostalgic for the 90s and early 2000s, whereas teens find the mid-late 00s nostalgic? Poor kids.
Lupin the Third Part IV now that it's been confirmed that a dub is in production and the Pioneer VAs are returning
>We'll be sticking to marathons for a while
Is it just me, or does his language in regards to movie nights seem a bit softer than it used to be? Before it was a hard No, but this feels like "we're doing marathons, but movie nights are on the table again."
Fishing for optimism, I see. After the way that the 2nd movie night was handled, I'm not particularly keen on how things will turn out if films were to return again.
In about a month, we'll find out what replaces AgK and it will either be cause for joy OR he'll shit the bed, but we'll watch anyway.
DeMarco will listen to Tumblr faggots and break the 2017 budget to acquire OPM for the 12:30 slot
>skipped all the filler while marathoning One Piece long ago
>mfw current filler arc
I-It's new to me!
Toonami is dead horse because the anime fanbase was quick to move on when the disparity of time between releases of shows in Japan and America vanished thanks to the internet (legal or otherwise)
Adult Swim as a whole still works because it's carved out a niche and has some original programming to back them up. That's what separates Toonami from the rest of their line-up, because the shows already aired or were available elsewhere prior to airing. Original shows don't have this problem. Sure, you can wait until a day or two after it airs and watch it on some bootleg site but it still has to premiere first before you can do that.
>Not even the waifufags can save this block now
We can try our best.
Nobody expected Toonami to come back and start airing brand new shit, it was always just a fun thing to have anime air on TV and do just well enough to not be cancelled within a few weeks.
However, there was also the notion that if we put up with shit like marathons, Naruto, etc, that occasionally we would be rewarded with something good. That dream died years ago, but 2016 is really driving the point home
>banter that made the block canned for no reason
>nonstop marathons slow the block down even more for no reward
>first show of 2016 is a 10 year old rerun that is already struggling with ratings
Whatever they announce to replace AgK better be fucking amazing or this ship will really start sinking
Also, when the fuck is an updated chart being made?
Shinichi has a good eye for what needs to be in the trash
Think he still ain't got no worries?
>tfw Fuuposter was falling behind last Saturday
gotta ante up senpai
Last I remember, the Anon that made it said that he'd make one soon, but no idea if he's even still alive. Try asking on Saturday as parts of the East Coast will be snowed the fuck in.
>Adult Swim stopped the chill Japan bumpers and replaced them with clips of their characters doing wacky/lolrandom things.
The worst part of this pasta, because it ain't true.
But at least you switched out Fred Fredburger for Rodney.
>my OC got noticed on an Esdeath thread
Twas a glorious day.
And that's not good enough, especially in a post bragging about the viewers not getting a choice.
While some may not be his choice, he still has way too much say on what gets on. No one was demanding Champloo, yet he threw it on anyways because MUH WATANABE, then threw in the Fujiko Mine "attempt" to cover his ass. Always keep pic related in mind
Is it just me or has the OC from the past month or so been really decent? A lot of it comes from Parasyte, but even the stand alone OC has been really good
How could one man be so stupid to push for Fujiko Mine where Lupin as a series is known for off the wall stuff/nudity?
I hate having to wait a month to find out if I should even bother with the block, but it's been almost four years now, so we have to see it through, won't we?
I really wish there were more KLK doujins. Maybe it's still just too new.
>that one that happens after tennis bitch gets demoted and she gets raped by a group of one star students
So SAO was shit, then it was replaced by AGK which was also shit
If the next show is shit then it just means they're filling a quota
Just like soul eater
>majority of soul eater doujins aren't translated
How can you be around for several years and not have them all translated, it's not even that much
What worries me is the time of reveal versus its premier date. Dub premiers and brand new stuff gets revealed way ahead of time.
>KLK and SAO2 were revealed about a month ahead of premier
>Parasyte was revealed 2 months early even if on accident
>AgK was revealed a full 3 months early, this may be tied with being the first Sentai show on the block though
Quality of shows aside, being a dub premier is a big deal and warrants and early reveal to generate hype. Throwaway garbage shows get revealed at the last second since they know people will be upset
>Champloo revealed a few hours before showing up on online schedules
>We will never get Fist of The North Star.
>Instead we will continue having Pussy Ball Z.
Oh that's a good one, I think they rape Mako too
>shark tits doesn't want it
>try's to talk tough
>deep down knows she can't stop starred students
>Mako just takes it since she's a no star
Toonami general then
>Man Lupin would be pretty great, but those fags are stupid and won't get it in favor of flavor of the month shit!
Toonami General now
>Wow I can't believe those stupid fags actually tried to get Lupin! What a bunch of fucking morons!
Pretty sure you guys are doing this because you literally have nothing to talk about at this point other than tugging on each others dicks to have your own "Jason sux" hugbox. Let the ship sink, it's clear that it will never get better so fuck it. New toonami was a mistake
>barely any doujins of these two
Marathons are the smartest thing you can do in terms of holiday programming on specialty channel. Whether it be a network affiliate airing a few episodes of The Drew Carrey show back-to-back or a HGTV running a marathon of This Old House there's no real better way to save cash.
>implying anyone requested Fujiko Mine
Even this shitty general agreed it had way too much nudity to air without being butchered. They ARE stupid fags for trying to get that particular one
And you are right, they fill in holiday slots just fine. The trouble is Demarco doing them for EVERY meaningless holiday
>Thanksgiving which is on fucking Thursday
>the week before Christmas
None of these nights should have been marathons
Halloween is a wasted opportunity
Thanksgiving and Christmas are understandable, because general viewership for TV goes down when people you know, spend time with their loved ones.
Only morons think Jason is a tyrant who is purposely sabotaging Toonami just to spit us.
I understand that his own preferences go into picking shows but I think we all can agree to some degree that he's mostly stuck doing what's necessary to appease his corporate masters in order to keep the block afloat. It's his baby and he wants to be known for it; he's not going to throw that away doing big gambles or petty bullshit.
>People aren't spending time with their loved ones 2 days after Thanksgiving at midnight
You're right, they're either asleep or traveling back home. Or do you hate your family that much that you bail immediately after dinner is over? Is spending Thanksgiving WEEKEND with them as well that unheard of?
>Week before Christmas
Given Christmas being on a Friday i'll give you that. If it were earlier in the week then maybe. A little more leeway this year in terms of travel time.
>that one doujin where Inumuta revealed his horsecock
Its not about much on saving the block anymore. I honestly think that its too far gone to be saved now.
I just enjoy sharing interests and discussions with fellow Oldschool Toonami bros. I always enjoyed that more than the current block of Toonami. Its about having fun and having the occasional fap while ignoring the sad truth about the block's fate.
It took a full 14 months to actually be delivered, and the "big changes" we're a packaging change and removal of things people actually liked. A canon way to put in less effort
He may not want the block to die, but it doesn't mean he isn't a tyrant
>block returns to the air purely on fan demand
>now that it's back and somewhat successful, fan input of any kind is immediately tossed in the trash
>when things go south the first person Demarco blames are the viewers
Why don't people understand that if everyone stopped watching the damn marathons they would try something else, or atleast limit the amount of marathons? They do them so often because they succeed somewhat, and supposedly cost nothing.
reminder that one piece treasure cruise will probably get ahead of toonami plotwise soon
IF YOU GUYS DON'T WATCH THE MARATHONS THEN TOONAMI WILL DIE
>Looking through Sentai catalog out of boredom
>All of these shit shows which will probably replace Akame
Can we just have Toonami die instead? Why did Sentai have to get two slots? I'm secretly hoping Aniplex is coming back or
Aniplex left because they ran out of content. Viz seems to have left on their own and are content with just Shitpudding.
Could Funimation PLEASE stop being faggots and sell Toonami something from their massive catalog? I can't listen to that dub Chaika for 6 months
Personally I think they'll lose one and it'll probably be Akame since it's in prime real estate and Sentai doesn't have much in the way of action dub premieres that would be ready in time. Still kinda naively hoping for GARO to be honest. But that would require Funimation stepping up, and that's not something I'm confident they'll be doing any time soon.
My top hope is we get Hunter X Hunter as a replacement, but if it has to be Sentai I'd be fine with Log Horizon or Medaka Box.
Too bad Medaka Box's anime ends before it gets good.
I kind of want Toonami to die just so I could rub it in DeMarco's face. Sometimes I tweet at him respectfully about Toonami and spins it back on me and acts like a rude asshole.
Ive already stopped watching Toonami, I literally just streamed all of Samurai Champloo and I feel no need to come back until they air Samurai Jack. Fuck DeMarco, no ones gonna stay up in the dead of night watching shit Japanese cartoons put on better shit. I value my circadian rhythm and if you don't value my dedication for the block for the past 10+ years you can suck shit.
Better to avoid the possibility of shit picks like Akame ga Kill and Champloo again with something genuinely good.
>tfw you experience the death of best girl twice in one hour
It's three years with relatively no filler. That said, I have to reluctantly concede that having 4/7ths of the block being shows greater than 26 episodes is a bit of a curse.
As much as I like the characters, I'd be willing to sacrifice OP to get HxH on, even if I prefer the '99 version by a smaller margin.
Wonder why Aniplex didn't offer up Aldnoah.Zero - maybe because the dub wouldn't be ready in time? They had dubbed three episodes as of Otakon last July/August...
It's crazy how much stuff hinges on the last Saturday in February.
They may only have swiped it for streaming.
Dubbing three episodes to show at cons to potential licensors or distributors has become a thing as of late, with both Stardust Crusaders and World Trigger getting the treatment
>All the buttmad faggots swarm Jason on Twitter thinking it's his fault when in reality it's the fact that Toonami is a relic that has no place in the current climate
>Demarco immediately snaps back that it's the viewers fault for not watching
I honestly can wait for the day that it happens. Will the shitstorm be as big as the one that happened when the block came back?
Not even close, in 2012 the sky was the limit for the block. At this point most people have come to terms with its eternal mediocrity, it would be a little ripple compared to the revival
I dont see why ... you think those two are any good.
One is bi-polar and has a warped view of justice, the other one was a stalker. I had so many flashbacks of School Days on how far I thought she was going to go.
>and has a warped view of justice
No such thing.
I'd love to get Log Horizon onto the block, but I feel it's lack of action when compared to SAO would leave viewers wanting something else. Ironically LH actually took itself seriously as a "stuck in an MMO" anime, but it also focuses on rebuilding society instead of just "fighting to survive."
Looks like posts on Fagbook affect ratings now for everything. So if you are ok having your friends know you watch Cantanese shadow puppet performances every Saturday night rather than going out and enjoying life, this is for you.
Oh that's right, none of you here have friends
>Tony Oliver back as Lupin
DON'T YOU PLAY WITH MY GODDAMN EMOTIONS
YOU LINK THAT SHIT NOW
best girl when? Suzuno a cute. CUUUUUUUTE!
I think he means regarding MML3. They canceled MML3 and blamed the community that wanted it by more or less saying "you didn't want it enough to show up to our meeting so we canceled it."
>Not even the waifufags can save this block now.
Unless they air her show we'll never know!
So he has to dig through a whole pile of shit to find one kernel of good?
now he knows how we feel watching the block every week!
it was a slightly rhetorical question, I finally caved and caught up on one piece about 2 years back. I actually really liked (the latter half of) thriller bark, between the tagteam attacks (Chopper/Robin super-suplexing hogback comes to mind) but this particular filler arc rubbed me all the wrong ways, so I'm just waiting for it to end before I start (re)watching again.
If you have been waitin for darker then black on toonami I got some sad news for ya.
Luffy for PIRATE KING
>You're acting like One Piece is the golden dynasty of entertainment
Gee, I wonder why.
still waiting on that star wars one piece short to get translated
>yfw the AgK dub was meme magic all along and getting Toonami to air it was the final stage for the Trump presidency
what do they use in place of trump card in the original?
Speaking of One Piece, who else is fucking hyped?
Me. Hopefully it's as good as Z. That shit was hype.
>all those badasses when they were impressionable youths
I wonder if we'll ever see a flashback of the Marine Monster Trio in a full on fight with Roger.
How the heck did Garp end up a Marine?
Alright, so I went back to look through every show Sentai has again, but this time I thought I'd write down all the possible shows Jason could pick to replace Akame with following his rules. I don't know why I included one cour shows but whatever. I highly doubt we'll ever see another 12 episode series again, plus a lot of these shows are highly unlikely anyways, if you can figure out which shows don't belong then good job. We'll probably see another recent seasonal anime so my money is on Knights of Sidonia, Hamatora, Majestic Prince, Chaika, Brynhildr or Log Horizon. All of them have 20+ episodes and are still considered recent I guess.
Here you go.
-20+ episode series-
Nobunaga the fool
Knights of Sidonia
Fate stay night (DEEN version)
Gatchaman Crowds (I don't think season 2 is dubbed)
-One cour shows-
Beyond the Boundary
No Game No Life
High School of the Dead
Kids on the Slope
>all these sweaty nerds with nothing better to do on Saturday playing pretend network programmer
Funimation scrubbed their website of all reference to it.
Fucking fuck, when did Funi pick this up.
To be fair the channel isn't needed either thanks to Crunchyroll, Netflix, iTunes/XBL/PSN/etc, and simulcasts in their own website. I'm surprised they had the channel as long as they did seeing as it seemed like a response to ADV/Sentai's Anime Network which itself was never big
it's true. Richard Epcar confirmed last week that he's directing and reprising as Zenigata, Tony Oliver and Michelle Ruff are back too. dunno about Lex Lang (probably?)
FUNImation had the license for some of them for a while so Sonny Straight voiced him but I'm guessing they're back to using LA Va's again.
See, I wish One Piece had this kind of support in viewers instead popping up in threads telling everyone it's a good show. If you don't want this show to keep being a ball and chain to Toonami than rally up the One Piece fans.
>One Piece on Toonami is so close to based Shadow King
Soon, lads. Soon.
Why are you guys so concerned with ratings like you were advertisers or you work for the network or something? You're not. You're nerds staying up late to watch cartoons.
Ratings literally don't matter to you. You need new hobbies, rather than discussing the ratings of a niche programming block on a niche channel. I seriously can't wrap my head around it.
It's all filler for a while. But soon we're going to get to the Thriller Bark arc.
Luffy and the crew meet a skeleton and have an adventure on a roaming ghost island! Hyped?
I'm not really 'defending' it as much as I am making fun of you for being so autistic about something that really doesn't matter.
>watch me ignore how almost every single episode of One Piece has pulled mediocre ratings even when it had a timeslot 90 minutes earlier
Remember when reruns of AoT after OP pulled higher ratings than the peak Eneis Lobby episodes?
Is there anything from the past 5 years that is more poorly written than AgK? Pretty sure Demarco guaranteed he wouldn't get something as shitty by getting the absolute bottom of the barrel
Why do you guys argue about One Piece every week and waste posts? There is never a consensus
>fans blindly defend the show while ignoring its consistent mediocre performance on the block
>non fans greatly exaggerate that it's doing poorly and needs to be cancelled right now
Can you all fuck off and just agree to disagree? The only way they will take OP off the block is if someone higher up than Demarco tells him to pull it off. It's ratings are low, but still good enough that Demarco isn't going to drop it
right i meant to say Jigen. I dunno my mind always confuses the two.
that and Epcar had be voicing Zenigata for a couple years now.
I'm thinking Paul St. Peter should be the new Zenigata.
>being mad that One Piece is still on despite it's ratings
>being content with literal garbage like AgK because it has good ratings
Do you guys actually like watching the block or just talking about the ratings? Because AgK is practically torture.
One Piece is better in almost every way.
>ACH loves One Piece
>/co/'s Toonami shitposters hate One Piece
I'll have to side with ACH. ACH fucking rules.
I don't, I like having somewhere to discuss shit during the week, can't do that when you guys waste the whole thread on bullshit arguments that go nowhere
I'm not defending AgK. Here's the difference though, AgK goes away in a month, replaced by something brand new. It was 6 months of torture, but now something new starts. One Piece on the other hand is on for 10 YEARS minimum, much longer than the block will live.
The One Piece manga is GOAT, but you are delusional if you think the anime, especially at one episode per week, is anything but torture. AgK is shit, but atleast things happen in it, instead of 7 minutes of recaps, filler, YELLING, and padding stills. Toei has ruined the anime.
>Watching/reading ANYTHING Naruto-related ever
>Says OTHERS have shit tastes
Perona is love
>Leva will never be Nami
>not knowing based ACH
>weeaboos in wrestling
>ACH will never become Pirate King
>Leva Bates will never become Pokemon Master
>Mr. 450 will never become Super Sand Lesbian
>weeaboos in wrestling
Did somebody say Kenny Omega?
>>weeaboos in wrestling
Why would you want based Trombone Man: Xavier Woods gone?
Thank the gods for our based Weeabo Wrestlers.
He didn't deliver anything. We lost the absolution and now we are on a dusty planet. Not to mention there is no more Sara & TOM banter. And we also lost the "Now, Then, and Later" bumps. Trip wisely, I'm gonna begin to hate you very quickly if you keep spouting dumb shit.
DeMarco tells you he will pull One Piece off American airwaves for good and personally fly to Japan to kick Eiichiro Oda in the dick.
You can defeat Minoru Suzuki in unarmed combat.
Would you accept the challenge? Do you think you have what it takes to beat up a 48 year old man?
Go three minutes in the ring with Minoru Suzuki without dying.
Keep in mind, Suzuki loves One Piece even more than winning championships. He will not hesitate to kill anyone who threatens it.
ACH is the special guest referee. Simon Gotch and Sasha Banks on commentary.
Pick a partner for a tag team match versus Suzuki and Chopperman.
>Literally Reddit, the Anime.
jk, I actually watch the shit out of opm and could give two half shits that anybody bashes the show.
the show is fun man
also best girl
>There are people in this thread who would accept, foolishly unaware of their imminent peril
Talk is cheap. If you're really that tough, go fight him right now.
>Not liking ass
same to you
On one hand, I want to post Toonami girl ass.
On the other hand.. its only Thursday.
No one cares about your reruns.
Yeah, this looks to be bait and that does not appear to be the real Semi Relevant Toonami News Guy. Don't think anyone has the rights to Blood+ these days now that I think about it.
Once again I have failed myself and taken the bait. Not to mention overreacting like a little faggot.
>Don't think anyone has the rights to Blood+ these days now that I think about it.
You're correct. Sony had the rights, but I think they've discarded all of their anime licenses (except maybe Astro Boy 2003). Blood+ has definitely been out of print for a while at the very least.
Just realized DeMarco is Khan. Had a reasonable laugh about it and continued on with my day.
I think the bigger question is why you're going there in the first place to have even seen it.
Why am I coming here.
Where are we all going in this crazy world where we babble on about a tv block that consists entirely of old and busted anime.
>Where are we all going in this crazy world where we babble on about a tv block that consists entirely of old and busted anime.
>implying we're going anywhere
>implying we're not gonna stay right here
The problem with the "boobs are fake asses" argument is that for it to work at all it means that the person arguing the point is saying he's an unevolved primative.
So I ask you, gentlemen of /co/ are YOU dumber than a monkey?
No disrespect guys, but Toonami wasn't that worth bringing back. Most people became predisposed to streaming or buying DVDs now. Nobody wants to wait a week for each EP when they can binge watch the whole show. Funimation dubs aren't much to get your panties in a bunch either since they use the same voice actors for everything. (I'm Canadian so I watched Bionix btw) The only show on that lineup I find worth watching in their current state is Samurai Champloo. I like DBZ Kai but it's just DBZ, nothing new and exciting.
Does Samurai Jack still air on Cartoon Network? Are they gonna air it to give viewers the sense of continuity?
>FUNImation had the license for some of them for a while so Sonny Straight voiced him
i remember picking up a funi lupin box set once. krillin lupin and piccolo jigen werent cutting it for me
when toonami marathons one piece, why cant they do like a best-of of the hundreds of early episodes that didnt air on the block? it would be new-to-the-block content from a show they already have the rights to air, but older so if a weekly fan misses it, its no big deal
Demarco is lazy and doesn't actually understand what people want, but that wouldn't work.
One of the biggest appeals of One Piece is the long slow build up to plot events over years. Context is what makes the series worthwhile. You can't get that by jumping in halfway, and you can't get that from a Best Of marathon
