>didn't even get an oscar nomination
Film sucks.
>>
The snoopy scenes ruin what would have been the best Peanuts movie to date.
>>
>>79154070
Why are you typing like an 11-year-old girl.
>>
>>79154091
It's a sign of quality desu.
>>
>>79153730
Its very faithful to the source material and pretty comfy, but if you arent into the Peanuts you wont get much out of it
>>
>>79154275
I disagree. I'm only vaguely aware of the Peanuts and don't have much attachment to the franchise, I thought the film was great. Comfy.
>>
>>79153730
It was cute
>>
>>79153730
Yes, it's quite good.
The only thing different is the happy end.
>>
I'm really just glad that they didn't ruin it with modern pop culture references every 5 seconds.
Thank fucking god.

The film was just comfy.

Loved it, it really did respect the originals.
>>
Why do people like Snoopy so much when he is literaly the only bad Peanuts character?
>>
>>79155728
He's not bad, you're just contrarian
>>
>>79155728
He's the cute animal mascot.
>>
He isn't even cute anymore, his initial design was fucking adorable, but the "new" one is plain ugly.
>>
>>79155898
Well, a lot of people seem to find him cute. So maybe it is cute.
>>
>>79153730
Charming movie but not worth watching in the cinema. It feels like its made for TV but the animation is top quality. Very true to the original specials. A much needed slice of life movie. I enjoyed it cause theres not a fucking iphone to be had with real problems. The kids in the movie can deal with life a lot better then most modern adults. Enjoyable movie and would love to see another.
>>
>>79153730
Is charlie brown still a sad fuck in this?
This is important
>>
>>79155931
Yes. But the movie is about him trying to do something about it and it's a pretty optimistic movie compared to things like "A Boy Named Charlie Brown".
>>
>>79155931
yes, he is a mopey ball of neurosis with a single hair comb over.
>>
>>79153730
Snoopy/Baron scenes were horrible. Charlie Brown is adorable and his earnestness shines through.
>>
>>79154338
Same. Didn't grow up reading it (not from the US) and the movie still came out full of heart for me. Baron scenes were atrocious though.
>>
>>79155927
>but the animation is top quality
This. It looked really great in the cinema. I'm just glad they translated the 2d art style well to 3d

best blue sky film since the first ice age

seriously, what the fuck happened with them?
>>
>>79156521
I didn't like the first Ice Age. I think the reason this one is actually good is because they were working with established characters, so we didn't get a group of unlikeable shitlords as main characters.

It's a very good film, visually stunning. The ending leaves a bit to be desired, but enjoyed it enough to have watched it a few times.

Sally makes some of the best strips, so I think it goes under appreciated how she was utilised in the film for some of the laugh-out-loud moment and the key elements of the story.

>shitlords
Wow, people weren't kidding about /co/ becoming tumblr.
>>
>>79160020
I don't see the connection.
>>
>>79154124
Why does it matter? What have 11 year old girls ever done to you?
>>
>>79156521
Shrek happened to them.
That's why all the Ice Ages afterward have been trying to be Shrek.
>>
>>79153979

it's not in theaters, and not on bluray yet.

Are you implying that rather than become as big of a part of American culture as it did, it would have been better for it to remain lost in the sea of mediocrity that is syndicated newspaper comics as one of the only good ones? What good did that do to Calvin & Hobbes?
>>
>>79161247
Fucked him in the ass
>>
>>79154112
Seconded so fucking hard.
>>
>>79162879
Don't all of the movies have pointless Snoopy scenes?
>>
>>79153730
the first half hour is literally every running gag from the comic.

the snoopy flying ace scenes were kind of crap just padding things out.

the actual stuff with the Red Haired Girl and actual character development, which was most of the latter half of the movie, were excellent.

would recommend
>>
>>79156521
I dunno, Robots was pretty good
>>
I loved it, but I love The Peanuts (even the Red Baron stuff!). It was a really cute, sweet, innocent, classy movie that as others here have said, stayed true to the source material and did not include trashy pop culture references every 10 minutes.
>>
>>79156521
Actually, it was 20th Century Fox Animation's best animated film since Fantastic Mr. Fox or Anastasia.
This is also Blue Sky's best since Horton Hears A Who.
>>
Am I the only one who thinks this movie is boring as fuck? Maybe because I'm mexican and I didn't grow up with these characters.

Or maybe because you are fucking stupid and were raised in a poor neighborhood, I am mexican too and I love peanuts since I was a child, puto.
>>

Those segments certainly overstayed their welcome, yes. First it was cute, by the end it was a bit forced that they kept going back to it.

The ending felt a bit too fake and "Congratulations"-y for my taste. It made me cry, but not in a good way. I don't want wish fulfillment. I want truth. A Boy Named Charlie Brown did it right. Also, Snoopy was abysmally unfunny, except when he defied the laws of physics, like when he stuck his head out from inside Woodstock's nest.
>>
>>79176524
What wish fulfillment? It's not like good things happened to him for no reason. And it's not like the redhead girl sucked his dick or anything. She just acknowledged his good qualities, which is something he worked really hard to achieve. The message was that as long as you're kind, generous, brave, and honest, you're never really a loser. Sure, people won't always notice it, but it's still something worth striving for. The one in A Boy Named Charlie Brown was that the world doesn't end if you fuck up and let everyone down. They're both good morals and they're both pretty optimistic. Plus, this was a better movie than A Boy Named Charlie Brown.

This Anon gets it.
