Wherein everything collapses
I really ought to give props to Capullo's art in this one.
The cover is horrific.
Got Absolute CoO for my birthday.
Gorgeous in the large HC format.
I didn't expect where this issue was going.
This is pretty intimate
I read an hentai like this, once.
Personally, my only gripe with BatGordon is the lack of Gordon Jr. story.
Maybe in Detective, according to the DC solicits showing Batmech is around after Bruce is back.
Batmech City: The City where everyone is Batmech
Bloom looks particularly ghoulish.
THanks for reading Batman: SUPERHEAVY part 8
I don't get it.
Does Bruce remember his past? I know hes still got the muscle memory and deep down hes worked out he was Batman, but does he actually remember who he is now?
Apologies if this has been answered somewhere in this issue, I've only read a few pages as I'm at work using my phone.
Here's the variant. Considered buying a Deadpool adult coloring book the other day at Barnes/Noble actually.
Reminder to watch Legends of Tomorrow, tomorrow.
Christ, I actually felt tense reading this issue. Bloom is a disgusting faux-philosophical villain though, I get so tired of those 'HUMANS ARE ANIMALS ACT LIKE IT' speeches though. Leave it to Gotham to be a bunch of spineless cunts.
Most of Metropolis would've told him to fuck off.
Lots of things to like, but that speech by Bloom is way too long, especially considering that he doesn't really say anything you haven't heard from a villain before. Classic Snyder. I really like that conversation in the park though, and I say that as someone who's completely sick of him writing these two characters together.
The art is completely striking. Bloom really is a good, fucked up villain design.
Pretty much this, loved the scene with Bruce but Bloom's so over the top dramatic about shit that shouldn't even phase the average Gothamite any more.
>Why is this faggot shouting about plants? Is Ivy attacking again? Weeds? I thought Floronic Man was dead? Oh well, I should really do groceries for the secret demonic owl worshipping sermon this friday. Honey, have you seen my car keys?
Probably Alfred pleading his case for Bruce not to become Batman again, and Bruce putting on the suit by the end of the issue with Alfred in tears as he quits being Alfred. Or, Alfred pleading his case for Bruce not to become Batman again, and Bruce putting on the suit by the end of the issue and telling Alfred to GTFO of his cave and his life. Or, one of the above coupled with flashes of what went down at the community center for Bruce to show up bloodied demanding to see the cave, aka so long Julie.
It's going to be the scene from dark knight rises where Alfred walks out on Bruce since he can't bear to watch him turn into Batman again after actually seeing him happy.
The only difference is that the excuse will be that he saw him happy so it'll work a lot better than it did in the movie.
I wish I'd been a fly on the wall when the Finger estate strongarmed DC into doing this
Jason's plan was retarded as him. You can't control Gotham's criminal world for more than a week, otherwise someone, or the city itself, rises to kill you( as shown in Morrison's run)
That's what I took from it. Either bruce is the fish and he's the parasite, or gotham is the fish and they're both parasites, either way he'd rather die than become a parasite again
Why are snyderfans so fucking butthurt?
Yeap, I stopped reading the main Batman book in Zero Year when it turned to shit. Big deal.
Nobody here reads comics or discuss them since 2012 and just bitch at one another, who the cares
Why is he so perfect?
Well since when Synder got bretty gud?
I am loving super hobo and Big Boss Bruce.
I can't stop reading bearded batman dialogue in Kiefer's voice
So where do I start reading? Truth, and Endgame respectively?
Their motivations seems identical, but they are very different.
Ivy truly believes that nature safety should be a priority( she sometimes also considers herself a plant and not a human) and only hurt people who deserve it according to her.
Bloom consider himself a gardener, but in a metaphorical way(he doesn't care about nature)since he wants to make Gotham his personal paradise with no laws and where every criminal is superpowered by his seeds
>Bloom is a disgusting faux-philosophical villain though, I get so tired of those 'HUMANS ARE ANIMALS ACT LIKE IT' speeches though. Leave it to Gotham to be a bunch of spineless cunts.
He's only half a step below Donald Trump. Same philosophy.
>Wow they actually are making pirate Alfred canon?
Joker blasted his hand off, but Snyder will probably give him a bullshit science robot hand or something and everybody will forget it happened
>And I guess Bruce has amnesia?
Joker and Batman had a very homoerotic fight in which Bruce's head cracked open and liquid bullshit leaked in and fucked his brain up. He doesn't remember being Batman so he kinda has amnesia even though Snyder swears it isn't for some reason.
Four times Batman has quit or "died" before, each time it happened, Joker also quit at the same time. But as soon as Batman came back, Joker had to come back as well, even when he didn't want to.
Sometimes Joker just became a model prisoner, sometimes he became a normal citizen, he just tried to go back to being something at least. However as long as there's a Bruce Batman, there has to be a joker, even when Joker has to be dragged back to the job by his own psyche, that just wants to quit already.
So he begs Bruce, because they both know, it can end here, they both don't want to keep doing it, but he knows Bruce will keep doing it eventually, and because of that Joker will have to return as well.
Batman and Joker are both people dragged out on stage and forced to preform even when they're sick of it, because that's their role.
Arkham gets new employees basically every month(because the old ones tend to die in the evasions), so it's not that surprising that Batman didn't recognize the new one as the Joker, since he saw him for less than one minute
I just don't think would ever be like "I'll be able to beat anybody up, but also be a disgusting freak for the rest of my life and never be able to have a normal relationship or life." If this was happening inside Arkham I might buy it, but just average criminals? Nah.
Whenever we get a fliumpse into the low level underlife of Gotham through Gotham Central or something similar, the henchmen/thugs are huge assholes but still people. You commit crimes for a reason- usually for a better quality of life. You can't really have that as a melted Mr Fantastic.
why not? they see cobblepot and other "freaks" living the high life. and for the desperate, they probably see themselves as social rejects anyways, so looks aren't a priority at that point.
I'm not saying they are all equal, my point was that is credible some thugs would take the seeds to gain superpowers( ignoring the downsides) since in Gotham the freaks( like Falcone and the other mobsters call them) have real power in the underworld
I didn't like how the Joker spoke in double entendres the entire time. It's suppossed to be deep and it feels really flat, but that's how it often is with Snyder. Just as him reusing ideas by other writers and always falling short.
Not even hating because this arc is pretty good so far.
>Really good issue, but one thing that really confuses me is why would anyone want to take those power seeds after they see that it turns you into a deformed monster person?
>to get an edge in the power game. Really poor people are desperate enough to take the gamble
But wait, when the little girl took one, it seems like
she died or even exploded(the art was a little unclear).
So—if you're evil, you can survive being a monster, and if you're good, you'll blow up?
>Bruce is putting the cowl back on.
>That means he'll shave his beard.
Feels bat, man...
I would let Bear Bruce have his way with me.
Anyone else notice Joker was dressed as a groom?
