How many shitty Batman animated films will they make before they pack it in for a while and start trying out other characters?
Don't pretend that the exploding head scene wasn't anything short of amazing.
Also, Batwoman cartoon when?
until non-Batman or Justice League things can fucking sell
Man, I really miss immediately pre-Crisis Nightwing. And not just because of the disco outfit - he grew up into his own man with the help of the Titans and a brief return to Haley's Circus, reconciling all the people who made him who he is, including Batman, and they had a perfectly respectful relationship with one another. His decision to take on a new identity was just to reflect that he'd grown. It wasn't until after the Crisis that they got the notion "What if Batman, like, FIRED Dick from being Robin?!" and every single Nightwing story I've seen after that (outside of latter day Batman Inc) has him being all FUCK U BRUUUUCE and just being an angsty ungrateful teen brat.
Is that really all there is to Nightwing? I mean, I'm this guy
and honestly I've kinda hoped for years that someone would crawl out of the woodwork to correct me on Nightwing, cuz I haven't read his series to be fair and maybe, just maybe he's been misrepresented to me and he actually has a much healthier relationship with Batdad in some well-written stories... but no, whenever I actually encounter a Nightwing fan on this board, it always seems like the sole checklist for him is
1) Is he drawn hot?
2) Does he whine about BRUUUUCE?
3) No srsl bro, how hot is he?
I really hoped the Toddtrain would derail after Morrison put a Bat-cow called Scarlet on the tracks, but Jasonfags just justified all the horrible things he'd done while bitching about how Jason was NEVER a pontificating faggot going on about what a better hero he was for Gotham until Mean Ol' Morrison ruined him and also made him an icky ginger, yech!
That was when I realized that Jasonfags are the most superficial comic book "fans" in existence, because if they were really honest about it, they'd admit everything they want Bat-books to be is already done by The Punisher, but Frank Castle isn't a perpetually twentysomething bishie with daddy issues kawaii uguu~
so.. wasn't there like a lot of mistakes in this? Or maybe I saw some kid version..
>Lucius being stabbed
sure there was blood for like 2 frames or something and then it just magically vanished
>all of a sudden: BATWING is there at the nunnery
How did Luke or whatever he was named know where to go?
>Mad Hatter head scene
did his head blow up? because if that is the case there should be more blood.. and body parts
>Talias final scene
why the heck did the assassin chick (the bald one, not Talia) attack Talia? Because of loyalty to Damian Jr.? because I would imagine that it would be Talia who was paying the bills and all that
Yeah precrisis Bruce and Dick didn't have like any problems.
Bruce even went through a mini midlife crisis when Dick left for college, and Dick still visited even though he was upset about being the "...and Robin" half.
Though NTT was could be pretty angsty but not really at Bruce.
It lasted from post-crisis when Bruce fired Dick as Robin through to the early 00's, when Bruce adopted Dick as his son.
It's been over a decade since that was an issue. Do you even read comics?

>Enjoyed it, had terrific lines and great writing. >Is there any chance of spy Grayson and Tim in future movies?
J.M. DeMatteisJanuary 19, 2016 at 12:16 PM
>You're the second person to ask that. I have no clue—but it's a terrific idea.
>Glad you enjoyed the movie. These things are group efforts, so I happily share the praise with James Tucker, Alan Burnett, and Mike Carlin, who contributed so much to the script's final shape.
Not really. In Dixon's run, that relationship was hot and cold, but that was also the height of 2000s Batjerk. In Tomasi's run, Dick was really well-adjusted, and got along with pretty much everyone. In Grayson, Dick and Bruce are written as close brothers
Nightwing's one appearance in Batman Hush is a nice snapshot.
Ugggh. God that is so cringe worthy. What the Fuck.
Eh... I've been waiting on it for so long I decided to buy it. Usually I rent but w/e. Hope its decent. Huge batman fan and I enjoy DCs animated push so I guess I'll try and manage my expectations and enjoy.
Would use torrent but I'm at a university and I'm not getting my internet shut off for a $15 movie.
Is Kate looking at the gun or at Talia's breasts?
>Three nuns with heavy machine guns shooting at Batwoman
>They all miss
>Batwoman takes them out with 3 pistol shots at a disatnce
Holy shit I mad. And these aren't fucking punks, these are league of assassin flunkies.
>>all of a sudden: BATWING is there at the nunnery
>How did Luke or whatever he was named know where to go?
It was even a stretch that Nightwing and Batwoman knew where to go.
I assume they figured league since the villain knew enough about Batman to break into the cave and kidnap Damien.
You know, I am probably a hypocrite for only asking this now, and not during the Avengers movies, but why doesn't Talia zip up her suit? I mean, I'll believe you if it is just a comfort thing, because sure why not, but is it ever formally addressed?
>Alfred goes to the control room and fights a guy to stop the brain washing
>Instead of just going around and taking out the ear peices
I mean, he takes out one, and then the two of them each take out two, then the four...it had to be just as fast as going to the control room. I mean, I thought he was going to reverse the mind control, but no, he just interrupts it. There was no reason to not just take out the ear peices.
I just wish they'd would have kept making those showcases.
The Shazam one was pure terrible, and the Catwoman one was gratuitious shit, but the Spectre, Green Arrow, and Jonah Hex ones were great.
I cannot seperate the two for an unbiased opinion, sorry.
It may be an alright film, but I'll never be able to see it that way.
I mean, that mini is one of my most favourite comics ever, so yeah, biased as all fuck.
Just finished it. I liked it. Ending felt kinda rushed but the fight choreography and the story was alright. It's stupid how they didn't explain how
batman survived the explosion in the beginning
I'm sick of everyone being so fucking depressed. The only happiness in the movie comes in the form of Dick's one liners. People need expressions other then super srs squinting. It's a dark story, I get that, but just because literally everyone is super srs and makes the occasional quip doesn't make it dark, it makes it look "edgy".
Like under the red hood did "edgy" Batman well.
All the action was pretty sweet, noticed a few inconsistencies in the animation (when Grayson takes the mask off then puts it back on, then Katey talks and the mask is still off ) but otherwise it was solid. Rushed though.
5 maybe 6/10
Robin is Sasuke lite.
Batwing is the poor man's Batman Beyond.
Batwoman is the token feminist who can dodge and deflect bullets at point blank range.
Talia is written completely against her character.
And nobody calls anyone out for killing.
What a pile of shit.
"Oh wow.. look at those"
Also.. I was wondering how Talia even fights with those hanging around with no bra or support of any kind.. And all of those flips and kicks in heels? Is that even possible?
Well nothing else has worked so far! She had to resort to date-rape and even then, he just took in the kid and refuses to marry her and become the head of her father's international assassin empire.
Just watched the movie a few hours ago, it was pretty terrible. There was absolutely no cohesiveness to the plot at any point, thematically I guess it was supposed to be about Batman accepting other people into the Batfamily (I guess?), but Batman himself was barely in the movie, and we weren't really given a reason as to why he should even do that in the first place, especially in the case of Batwing. Early on it seemed that the plot was going to revolve largely around The Heretic, but he's killed like halfway into the movie and was ultimately extremely unimportant. Hell, the entire plot with the villains just kind of meandered, they did a few things here and there but we were given basically zero clues about what the hell they were doing, and when their plan is sprung it wasn't even particularly interesting.
The only good things I can say about it is I enjoyed the Mad Hatter and it was nice to see Batwoman in an animation, though disappointing to see it happen in something like this.
>token feminist who can dodge and deflect bullets at point blank range
That complaint applies to every single member of the Batfamily and you fucking know it, no reason to single her out.
yeah but.. Talia is like that chick you never want to hook up with
>changes who you are at the core
>gives you clothes to wear that SHE bought
>wants you to work at her fathers job and eventually overtake it
>Drug rape which leads to a kid being born
>never talks about this to the father
>tosses the kid to the father and expects it all to be good
>when meeting the kid again he resents her "OMG why won't u love me, u lil shit???"
Talia's a shit
Honestly, though, Bruce took that pretty well. Most dudes would be pretty pissed in his situation. He took the kid in and, despite his severe lack of sociability, did try his best to raise him. Then again, he did have experience with four other kids. Two of them turned out mostly okay. Except for the whole vigilante thing.
but most of the batfamily was trained by Bruce. If anyone would have trained enough with 100 squats, 10 miles etc. etc. to be able to dodge bullets it would be him.
But how the heck could batwoman, a chick who flunked out of military school, spent a lot of time doing drugs, sex and alcohol, completely counter a person who trained all of her life as a professional assassin?
How the fuck did batwoman get so competent at fighting?
Well it's not as if Talia was ever that good anyway. She's always been hilariously outmatched by both Bruce and her own dad. I don't quite recall how well she's fared against other members of the Bat family though.
To be honest, she's always been kind of a disappointment. You'd think that the daughter of Ra's al Ghul would be more capable than she is, but she's just not as good in anything she does.
They left the part out where she was kicked out for being gay so it's not like she wasn't cutting it. Then after Batman saves her they left out the part where her father put he through training and gave her to this black ops team of specialists that trained her even harder.
I liked the movie
I mean if you just look at the animation besides some mistakes. Storywise it is a mess.
What I really got a laugh out of was Dick cruising around in the batmobile and firing off all those missiles and explosives. I was constantly saying to myself "Yeah... but non-lethal right Dick? Sure is lucky that those explosives that both can blow walls up is super harmless against those nuns that you fired them at"
This is probably the worst movie of them all
>Jor-el was literally cucked
>superman is mexican
>Batman is a vampire
>Wonder Woman is alien
I want to commit suicide because of the extreme regret of watching this
A barely average arc in the last 5 years doesnt change 30 years of shittyness.
>Superman doesn't act even a little bit "Mexican" in this movie.
He kills a lot in the movie.
Flashpoint was good and had memorable moments.
You people only have a gripe with it because it changes alot of well established characters when the point is that the universe has gone topsy turvy and everything is different. Its almost like an elseworlds.
>Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
>Its almost like an elseworlds.
But is not. Is an alternative timeline (that means, the same characters). And even worst, it's a story that was never a real event, it was turned into an event by executives, and johns will to turn evereything into a toy line instead of telling a good story.
It operates with the same idea as an elseworlds you moron. Every character grew up differently and became what they were under very different circumstances. Which would logically happen if you fucked with a timeline. Youre bitching about nothing and have nothing to explain why it was a bad story other than what sounds like some retarded gripe against johns.
I liked it but I like all the Warner Premier DC movies and LORD Bruce Timm god of animation shit who is directly responsible for the idea that we get one or two of these a year.
So go to hell you ungrateful "fan."
I liked it, i said it flopped. and it flopped hard, while WW and Superman movies didnt had an announced Live action movie hyping them, and the GL comic was selling more than batman, the GL movies killed the chances of a Animated flash movie. First flight was a better movie than the Live action one, but it was expected to sell as much as Superman: Doomsday, and it "just"did 9 millions, that was fairly a lot, but it wasnt worth it, sine they could make the same money with superman and batman but without any publicity. WW and FF killed several projects, and by the time movies were making barely 5 million all b-listers were condemned to hell. First flight had a budget of around 4 million so it was quite costly.
You are a Johns fanboy, so you
Every Elseworlds is technically an alternative timeline. Like Red Son is an alternative timeline where Superman crashed in Russia. Darkest Knight is an alternative timeline where Batman got a GL ring. This is an alternative timeline where Nora where Professor Zoom was stopped by Barry. Sure, it's kind of ridiculous how much changed, but that's a necessary suspension in Elseworld 'verses.
And the fact that it was an event doesn't detract from the story itself. Really the only problems with it are the pacing, which sucks, and the aftermath.
>And the fact that it was an event doesn't detract from the story itself.
It did, it was a flash story and they forced johns to turn it on an event and reboot. While brightest day wasnt good Flashpoint could had led to the zoom corps, it was a much smaller story and could had been better.
Are you sure?
Because Batwoman replies "She hasn't been here for awhile."
And that's the kind of pronoun use you'd think someone would make a quip about instead of just leaving it at that.
Flashpoint, I think, was the first DCAU movie where I felt the violence was excessive, and that trend seemed to continue until oddly enough this film.
This film could have had a lot more gore, especially compared to the FLashpoint or the Atlantis one.
Except it doesnt and you havent done anything but bitch about irrelevant shit.
>Why is an alternate timeline so different? This sucks!
Its like youre a 12 yr old with no meaning of the word.
>First Flight flopped hard
It was the fourth highest grossing DCAU direct to DVD film released to date, so you are objectively wrong.
And Emerald Knights is in the middle of the pack at 14th of 25.
Not trying to sound edgy but are you shitting me? The whole plot involves a fuck huge war with a lot at stake, hatred and multiple vendettas. Of course it got bad. It wasnt even that bad compared to other stuff DC has put out and much other fiction in the same and different mediums.
I have no problem with what happened, but it was like they were playing Mortal Kombat with the blood and guts turned off, and with Flashpoint, they turned it on.
Like when they show the hole Batman shoots in Zoom's head.
I have no problem with ThomasBats shooting Zoom, but I didn't need to see the wound like that.
Not a kids show. They dont need to censor stuff. And showing that gives you a sense of how fucked things really are. It wont impact your mind as much if it cuts to black or just shows a cartoonish looking hole.
Your complaint is seriously subjective.
I don't read the comics, is Batwing really a thing? And is it done better than it was here? Because the dude knowing how to activate the program that puts the suit on him, the suit just happening to fit him, and him more or less mastering its use almost immediately was more than my suspension of disbelief could handle.
Watching this makes me question what story relevance did Batlesbian bring? They could have easily not put her into the movie and this can still playout just like this. LGBT are ruining everything.
>Luke Fox Jr
>Using David's armor
This is what bothered me the most.
The original batwing was an african fighting guerrillas and trying to keep his people safe, he was pretty based. As in a real african character in africa.
This guy is based on the second terrible guy that is just "see see, batman is not racist, he has a black friend"
Mexicans are stupid, violent and amoral people. And there's ntohing racist about that anon post, since Superman was adopted and is not human, he is saying that superman being rised by mexican criminals is a terrible thing
What I want to know is when Cass or Steph are ever going to get some animated screentime.
