DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY HC
Written by PAUL DINI
Art and cover by EDUARDO RISSO
On sale JUNE 15 • 128 pg, FC, $22.99 US • MATURE READERS
The Caped Crusader has been the all-abiding icon of justice and authority for generations. But in this surprising original graphic novel, we see Batman in a new light—as the savior who helps a discouraged man recover from a brutal attack that left him unable to face the world.
In the 1990s, Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Dini had a flourishing career writing the hugely popular Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures. Walking home one evening, he was jumped and viciously beaten within an inch of his life. His recovery process was arduous, hampered by the imagined antics of the villains he was writing for television including The Joker, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But despite how bleak his circumstances were, or perhaps because of it, Dini also always imagined the Batman at his side during his darkest moments.
DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY is the harrowing and eloquent autobiographical tale of Dini’s courageous struggle to overcome a truly desperate situation. It is a Batman story like none other and one that will truly resonate with fans. Art by the incredibly talented Eduardo Risso (100 BULLETS, DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE).

So I don't want a guy standing up for his loved ones whose rights are infringed just because they were close to Clark, didn't know he was Superman and the government didn't believe them? If you remember the rest of that arc, not-Obama talked with him, agreed with him, agreed to release them, and did so after Superman still stopped baddies that put him at risk despite having a legitimate beef. These solicits are extremely evident that nearly every single ongoing is either winding down to a conclusion or gearing up for a new direction.

The Grayson/Robin teams are likely fill-ins. The Superman crossover is likely putting Superman back into a more classic format so that the entire line can be relaunched.

>I know this isn't anything anyone likes to here, but DC really publishes too many titles. They really need to focus on like maybe 30~ high quality titles to help continue what DCYou started in rebuilding reader confidence.
That is true, and it's a problem with Marvel too (they'll have something like 72 ongoings in April)

More and more retailers (and consumers by proxy) are starting to speak up about how it's getting impossible to manage book orders like that and anything of actual quality that lasts more than five issues is getting completely lost in the shuffle

DC would benefit a lot from cutting their line down to 40 books or so, but then their market share would take a hit and I'm sure they don't want that

>>
>>79134703
>I hope we get some actual good changes and announcements in a couple months

I mean I can hazard a guess at what we're getting.

New creative teams for pretty much every single book that wasn't launched with DCYou. Green Arrow, Flash, and Wonder Woman probably relaunched completely.

Tom King/Tim Seeley on the main Batman title. (Pretty much the only promotion they could get that would make sense)
Scott Snyder on Wonder Woman (He's been vocal about wanting to take a crack at her, and he could easily make it a top 10 book)
Tom King/Tom Taylor on Green Lantern (Taylor is becoming a pretty big name, they wouldn't just bring him along to write some shlocky continuity stabilizing mini for no reason)

Not even the slightest clue what they might be doing with Superman books. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Action Comics handed off to Max Landis.
