It started with a man, but it wasn't the end.
Gravity held it in his arms, then he lost his friends.
Then it found redemption, but it K.O.'d his heart.
Now it's with the demon, a poor man's work of art.
What we have are masqueraders. What we need are liberators.
Subject to plan, what it needs is what I am.
What it needs is what I am.
I don't like how her breasts disappeared.
I think it looks good with her in space but she should mix it up while she's doing Earth shit with a more casual look too
That's more a product of the artist than the costume I think. I've seen some still draw her stacked.
>Carol just wanting to punch stuff
This is going to bite her in the ass later but I'm looking forward to reading ahead.
I liked the EMH uniform best, but the modern one is alright. It's the hair that I'm not a fan of.
She has pointy ears, so yes.
Carol is looking ripped.
>Don't sleep, usually. Side effect of being bite-sized. Everything hurts
But yeah, I like how ripped Carol's looking. I'm fine with her being a musclegirl if Anka can't draw tits for his life.
Well, so far, it's better than any of her comics since becoming Captain Marvel, so seems like a good place to start.
Unless they somehow fuck it up in the next couple pages at least.
Hmm, Marvel actually included more than 20 story pages in this.
Or it's just an ancient kree ship. C'mon Carol, don't be fronting like you invented the symbol.
I'm genuinely shocked how much I liked this. It wasn't anything groundbreaking by any means, but it was better than I thought a Carol Danvers book could be. I'll give it an arc to prove itself yet, but this is a pretty good start.
Just wish Anka would stop drawing Carol like a man.
I'm still not particularly interested, but this is better than I expected. About what you want from an ongoing for any character if you can't get a A+ run.
The writers are new to comics right?
Here's a better look at the cosplay cover.
Yeah, that symbol originates with Mar-Vell, I dunno why she's going "IT'S ME" over it. Egocentric again Carol?
This isn't bad. It's obviously just some rehashed Star Trek stuff with superheroes stuffed in, and Anka's art is still poor, but you know what? It's better than all the issues of KSD's dreck put together, so I'll fucking take it.
Well, this one issue was better than all of her first run, second run, and secret wars mini combined. Not that that's saying much but this at least proves that the problem wasn't the character, but KSD.
Really? Neat. I
liked the writing on that show
I'm more of a DCuck so I have to ask:
When did SWORD disband and when did Alpha Flight essentially take their place?
Isn't Brand the director of SWORD or was that just an EMH thing?
This was also surprisingly not shit.
>your donation can help save lives and give breast cancer patients a hand to hold
>but public healthcare never ever
how come that almost every company jumps behind breast cancer awareness but almost nobody does anything about prostate caner?
even through more people die of prostate cancer every year and most comic book readers are guys?
Between this and Civil War 2
I can't believe I'm excited for fucking Bendisit looks like Carol is back to her good old self. Now we just need Spider-Woman to do magic spy stuff as an agent of W.A.N.D. and abut a fourth of my Marvel related dreams will have come true.
Agent Carter boobs? Surely I have no idea what you speak of
Nope, I still don't know what you're talking about
Hmm, I think we need to do more research
SWORD's space-station was destroyed in the lead up to Secret Wars. During the 8 month timeskip between Secret Wars and this, it was disbanded and reformed under Alpha Flight in a joint partnership with Wakanda.
you know women also used to be to ashamed to check for breast cancer
luckily that chanced when people started to talk about it openly
men really could need some help. but I guess that is never going to happen since helping men = raping women in the eyes of today's sjws in the media
He does a shit ton of redesigns for Marvel
despite the fact that he sucks at them most of the time. As far as interiors go, he did a bunch of issues from Bendis' Uncanny X-men and Humphries' horrible Uncanny X-force prior to that.
I guess this? I don't listen to much current music.
To be fair, the refurbished Carol uniform is probably the best redesign he's ever done. It stays away from the "black bodysuit with slight detail" formula. It has a sash. It's even got high heels on it.
These Marvel actresses like to show off.
I meant more about how Iggy acts like being a white female rapper in a predominately black field is hardcore, but in reality she sucks at lyricism and probably got to where she is by spending a lot of money. Sort of like how Captain Carol has no real worth in the overall scheme, but is hoisted up as a be-all-end-all savior of superheroines.
Or something like that.
Kris Anka worked on All New X-Factor and the House of M Secret Wars book.
He also tried and failed to make a Marvel Swimsuit special with Kevin Wada
To be fair, the old swimsuit specials had the guys posing too. So I'd be fine with a new one, so long as the ladies were showcased as well.
They probably felt it was wrong in the current climate or some bullshit.
Here's the holy grail since I gotta go to work now
This reminds me of Gillen's SWORD. I wonder if they actually - dare I say it - prepared for this.
Their Brand seems spot on at least. Just like I would've imagined.
She hates the fact that she has to educate Carol's stupid ass to do the job properly, that she could do way better herself.
I thought everyone liked tits. And butts.
Why the hell are they not putting him on a book with dudes? He's clearly better at drawing semen demons of the male gender.
Same reason that DC put Marcus To on Batwing, a book without cute girls or bishonen boys:
the people who make these decisions are stupid.
The only real fanservice in this comic was Puck weight lifting.
It's a crime he doesn't get to draw Thor anymore.
Is Carol/Puck going to become a thing? Tell me it is. Two pages together, they had more chemistry than the entirety of that retarded Carol/Rhodey thing KSD started.
The rest of the issue too, while not GREAT, was better than previous two relaunches combined.
>in my vagina?
I had some hope for this series and just for once, my hopes were actually totally confirmed.
This is the SWORD book I wanted.
Sure, I wanted Brand to be in charge and Carol to be an Agent and it's actually Alpha Flight etc etc, but whatever. Insignificant details.
it's because of the hight death rate once it hits, the high rate at which it hits and how easy it is to screen. It's essentially the cancer for which this type of caimpaing is the most effective.
asically when the breast cancer awareness campaign started everyone knew some woman who had died of breast cancer, often relatively young. That's why women started the caimpaign for it an not for ovarian cancer, and why men didn't start a caimpaign over prostate cancer, and why currently it's more advertised than both.
That scanner is just as much of a bro as Scanbro. Think of all the comics it has brought us over the years.
I salute you, Scabros mighty steed.
I think general consensus is that /co/ liked it or at least thought it was alright.
After the last few Captain Marvel books, I figured it was more of the same. This is a promising start. I also wondered about Anka's art. Looks fine to me, even if I prefer comic women to be more curvy.
I quite like this superhero serves as head of space station thing to be honest. It'd be nice to see different takes on it before the inevitable reboot, although not like that will ever happen.
It actually wasn't a horror show.
Her ripped body makes the less tits actually reasonable. Many women lose it if they go too far getting FIT.
I WISH she he had tits And i disagree with lollesssexualbcsensetivity... but hey i guess a reasonably too fit body makes some sense
I liked it better before they had Anka have a go at it, why are there son many lines that do nothing?
It's not like Carol has to have the suit made for her, she just molecularly reshapes the clothes that she has into her costumes.
if any female Marvel hero should be this masculine, I think the air force captain that loves to punch things is the one.
People complain that all these masculine women create the impression that it's unfeminist to be feminine, but lets face it, we are far from drowning in masculine looking chicks in media.
>why are there son many lines that do nothing?
Anka said he wanted to integrate elements of her Warbird suit into the redesign and the Warbird suit had a bunch of unnecessary latches and shit.
And Spider-man has always been white.
It's really not that big of a deal, it's not a takeaway from her character at all and if you want to fap to old Carol, there's rule34 everywhere already.
All Big 2 women have always been stacked, with the exception of some of the ones introduced as teens or younger, like Jubilee or Shadowcat, and they aren't consistent. There's a serious lack of small breasted superheroes, and Carol can fill this role as well as anyone else. The real problem is that Anka forgets the D in DFC, making her breasts unappealing regardless of their size.
>And Spider-man has always been white.
That's a piss poor argument and you know it.
No one is saying Carol's character is ruined because Anka can't draw.. People are pissed at Anka for taking away the T&A because he can't draw either for shit.
Let's be honest here for a moment: her already 5-year tenure as Ms Marvel was a better tribute to Mar-Vell and continuation of his legacy than anything Monica has done in her entire character history.
I really like this design as well. I love short hair, and we aren't exactly lacking tits in comics.
It's funny cus I'm bi. I actually do like men.
>Rocafort used her going binary as an excuse to give her long flame hair again
You cheeky perv.
Nah she ducking has to know just look at this
Thise a fin head Kree uniforms.
But honestly with the Kree having their planet fucked by Bendis and Humphries on their shitty event that amounted to nothing, I wouldn't be oppose to the few surviving Kree taking residence with Carol, especially if it means we get Ronan in a comic again and away from Bendis.
>And Spider-man has always been white.
That is a different guy being called Spider-man. Carol Danvers is supposed to be the same person she always was.
Not according to Ronan.
But yeah wirh Ms Marvel at least she made her own identity, even the bolt symbol was hers more than the Star of Hala ever was.
Yeah KSD should have never been on Captain Marvel.
They sent her to space with the GotG but Bendis did nothing with her character and KSD just nade rhe while thing about her cat.
This at least is better already, she has a purpose, her character flaws are shown, no boring cardboard characters no one gives a fuck about, no MUH Flying airplanes! Shit, and no sign of the stupid alien cat.
That's because Monica was never meant to be a legacy character to Mar-Vell, just a wait to keep a claim to the trademark of the name. Besides, at least Monica has a story everyone can point to and agree it's great in Nextwave, 90% of the love for her comes from that. Maybe that's what Carol needs, just one great story.
>And Spider-man has always been white.
Spider-Man is white.....
Grasping for straws to excuse mediocre art
It's just the artist drawing her weird. I don't know why you guys are talking as if it's meant to be an in-universe change. Other artists draw her curvy. The next artist on this book will probably draw her curvy too.
It's hardly grasping. She was stacked as Ms. Marvel, but had a flat stomach and she looked like an average volleyball player. Now in the new run she's ripped, which means lower body fat, which means smaller tits.
Pretty much my thoughts.
Then again, there IS the possibility KSD was hampered by Editorial because Carol HAD to become the Marvel's Wonder Woman so they killed whatever idea she had for the character
In the same way that muscle overrules tits, fakes overrule muscle.
Quite. One more.
This amazing feat is a combination of strong pecs and fake breasts.
rip Cheeseburger Carol
(but I do really like /fit/ Carol as well)
>It started with a man, but it wasn't the end.

What's that from?
This bugged me when ults and a-force came out on the same day
... I guess it was the Captain Marvel team's fault all along
Tough one. I think Roman Reigns will put in a good showing, maybe even start the Rumble. He won't win, they'll have him fight for it at Wrestlemania.
So who will win? Shit, I'm not sure. I didn't watch Raw yet, did they put Brock into the Rumble? Maybe Triple H is entering himself? Is Daniel Bryan coming back?
I'll go check out /asp/ after I watch Raw later.
Shit is scanbro still around?
I've always wanted to ask what you thought of Bendis lying on his tumblr by saying your scans are blurry and unreadable and even "upside down"
I mean know he was just trying to defend his shit products but the fact that he would lie to everyone who follows him pissed me off
Damn, confused feelings about this.
It was better than expected, but on a personal basis, I like this Carol (reminds me a lot of when she used to be Ms. Marvel instead of shitting on the legacy of Captain Marvel), but I don't really like the world building around her, I mean, Puck and Brand on a single issue already got 10 times more interest than her.
Oh, and putting rocket racoon on it was shit.
And it's awful.
Abbreviated history of Carol Danvers.
>Only woman in the USAF 'cause it's the 60's. Starts out as Lois Lane to Captain Marvel
>Ends up getting powers and amnesia from accident involving Cap Marvel.
>Tries to work as a civilian, but she gets narcolepsy and the Ms Marvel Personality takes over whenever she passes out.
>Ends up having a mindfuck to bring both personalities together, which pretty much makes her a disturbed and angry individual.
>Gets mind controlled and raped by her inter-dimensional baby, Immortus.
>Gets comatose after Rogue drains her powers
>Gets abducted by the Brood, experimented on, becomes Binary and goes off adventuring with space pirates in stories that will never see print
>Captain Marvel dies, leaving her an emotional wreck when she finally finds out.
>Spends years being used as sex toy
>Comes back and Avengers just shrug it off
>Carol's personality takes over Rogue from time to time
>Jim Lee turns Rogue's mental persona of Carol into a zombie, which gets killed off screen by Magneto.
>Takes the name Warbird and becomes a raging right-wing alcoholic that is just trying to do the right thing.
>Gets kicked off the Avengers for fucking things up repeatedly
>Becomes Earth's Most Popular Hero in the Scarlet Witch's fanfic world
>Has a broken relationship with Wonder Man
>Gets semi raped by Brood
>Green Goblin has her identity stolen by Moonstone, one of her main villains
>Gets mindfucked by baby MODOKs
I'm missing all about the DeConnick run and the reset that turned her into the new Captain Marvel. Help, anyone?
Avengers 200 is incredibly fucked up. Why didn't Shooter just have Carol get injured or something?
Let's see... Carol somehow became Captain Marvel later on (don't know the details). She first gets pulled back in time and had to keep history intact (because KSD wanted to erase Mar-Vell from her origin but Marvel said no).
After that, it's mostly silly antics with her neighbors in-between superhero work, but then Carol learns that she's got a brain lesion and she can't use her powers because it makes it grow. Then Mar-Vell's old enemy Yon-Rogg comes back for revenge and Carol is forced to blow her brain out in defeating him, so all her memories go poof.
After a brief stint in space, Carol gets commended by then-Mayor JJJ and some bitter bitch named Grace Valentine (essentially Ayn Rand meets Lex Luthor) tries to kill her because Carol bumped Grace's big magazine article, and everybody starts proclaiming that Carol's awesome. She then goes back into space to leech off the Guardians of the Galaxy's recent movie-fame.
Wonder if this was intentional CW2 foreshadowing or just nice timing.
Hopefully Butters+Fazekas stick around for the tie-ins and we can get at least something good out of Bendistime.
At least if Rhodey dies, people would have some idea who he was, unlike the huge black guy from the original Civil War.
It's boobs mate, they are loved by both men and women. Of course everyone wants to keep them safe.
